Oak Lodge Reviews (143)
Oak Lodge has a Review Score of 9.9 (9.931) out of 10, based on 18 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Oak Lodge has 143 reviews.
My sister has been at Oak Lodge for over 7 years. Oak Lodge have taken good care my sister for all these years and the Staff and Management are all approachable. We always feel free to discuss any concerns about my sister and they always listen and do all they can to help.
My only regret is that, given my sister is bedbound, she is unable to enjoy the beautiful surroundings outside her room.
I have no hesitation in recommending Oak Lodge to anyone looking for a good care home for their loved one.
Mum's general appearance has improved dramatically and in the last week, they have seen Mum through a nasty little bug with care and concern for her.
I know that Mum is being well looked after and I also know that the team are there for both her and me.
Here we are, six years later, and with the additional handicap of being registered blind and Mum is still going strong thanks to the patience, kindness and care of the whole team at Oak Lodge.
In spite of the things that restrict her, Mum is so well-supported in the things she can do. The stand-out thing recently is her participation in the poetry sessions. She has always been a lover of poetry and I am so pleased that this is one of the many things the activity team supports.
From top to bottom, the staff are always helpful, kind and communicative. We feel very lucky that Mum is at Oak Lodge, we could never look after her considerable needs the way the home does. We were so impressed at the way they handled Covid too, in spite of government incompetence.
I am very happy to wholeheartedly commend the management and hard work of this exemplary nursing home.
He does find the evenings rather isolated back in his room, but he uses the computer. He has suggested a “pub” is installed where residents could meet in the evenings. A wonderful care home overall. The staff are second to none and go to great lengths to ensure comfort for the residents
I have been impressed with Oak Lodge since my first contact with the manager. She was so accommodating and understanding of our situation. She offered respite care, which resulted in my mother being so at ease and comfortable that she made that important decision to make Oak Lodge her home. The staff and facilities are excellent, and daily activities and crafts have seen my mother flourish. My sister and I have peace of mind about the care she is receiving and always feel welcome when we visit. Well done to all the staff!”
It’s a job to know where to start in complimenting Oak Lodge. The word ‘care’ in a care home isn’t sufficient to describe the care, love and attention everyone receives at Oak Lodge. The staff make friends with residents and visitors alike and always greet you by name. They know the residents and treat them with dignity and respect, making sure they are comfortable and happy. Our dear friend arrived at Oak Lodge over three years ago, and it is clear that the care and attention she receives have given her a wonderful quality of life. Thank you to everyone at Oak Lodge, which I am convinced is the best in the country.
I feel that he was embraced into a large, loving extended family. He was always treated with dignity, understanding and compassion by all members of the staff, whatever their role in the home. Nothing was too much trouble to sort out or address.
He also enjoyed really good fun theme days, BBQs and Summer garden parties, usually involving excellent quality food, which he relished. Dad was only there for one birthday, but decorating his room and having a birthday cake at tea, exemplified the extra mile and thoughtful personal touches Oak Lodge provided.
In short, I cannot speak highly enough of the professional management, great teamwork and wonderful, dedicated nurses and carers, and am recommending Oak Lodge to anybody in need of the highest quality home.
During her time at Oak Lodge, she has received the most wonderful care, courtesy and consideration that we could have ever wished for from every member of the staff, who all have that natural warmth and welcoming disposition which are so necessary to make the residents feel that they are living in a safe home from home environment. I know that my sister is very happy being there as she continues to enjoy the autumn of her life.
I am so very, very grateful for the outstanding care she has received at Oak Lodge.
The staff are all friendly and happy and are willing to do anything asked of them.
We have always been kept fully informed of any changes in our aunt's condition.
Oak Lodge itself is always immaculately clean and bright, with changes to displays throughout the seasons.
There are plenty of activities for the residents if they choose to participate.
We would not hesitate in recommending Oak Lodge to anyone looking for care for a relative. It is a lovely home.
The home is an absolute joy to see. It's bright, lovely rooms for residents and the gardens and grounds are so well cared for. Everyone seems happy, and it has so many activities for the residents. My mother is very happy there and has never complained about anything or anyone. I feel completely relaxed to know she is so well cared for. Thank you for all your kindness to Mum.
The home, set in its countryside setting, a real feature, is immaculately maintained both inside and out. The seasonal decorations and displays are fun and cheerful enhancing the homely atmosphere. The range of activities and entertainment is impressive and immediately engaged Dad in the community life, particularly enjoying the visits from the alpacas which brightens his day and gets him talking!
We are so grateful to all the staff for the love and care they show to Dad and know we can trust that they always do the best for Dad. Thank you
The staff are knowledgeable and helpful and always on hand to assist in any way they can. The regular resident's meetings give everyone a chance to have their say and it's refreshing to know that these meetings are acted upon with the resident's choices for food, activities etc being taken into account, actioned and put in place.
Our feeling is just the same that the quality-of-care mum gets keeps her stimulated and mentally sharp. We feel we have made exactly the right choice for mum.
They look after her and take in all her needs as if she was a family member.
The facilities are 5 star and food is brillaint.
The activities are excellent and varied and take place every day in morning and afternoon.
Lastly they all want the best for the people who are staying at Oak Lodge.
I’m so happy with the decision we made to move her to Oak Lodge.
Our 90-year-old mother entered Oak Lodge Care Home in May 2021. Although she was rather confused to begin with she soon settled down helped by the exceptional standards of care at the home and the kindness of all staff. As a family, we are grateful to all the nurses and other staff at Oak Lodge who have been consistently supportive. The manager runs an impeccable ship. Thank you
Moving to a nursing home is not an easy decision to make and choosing somewhere is difficult. Oak Lodge, with its wonderful gardens and luxury indoor facilities, makes that choice easier.
Thank you to all of the team for helping Mum to settle in.
My mother has been at Oak Lodge for three years and is very happy there. The home manager supported by nurses, carers, activities team and a range of support staff do a wonderful job in keeping Oak Lodge happy, safe and an active home for all residents. Oak Lodge is very welcoming with a range of lovely purpose-built rooms and continues to be outstanding!
A few years ago Oak Lodge cared for my mother-in-law and she was very happy there. Unfortunately, in late Summer of 2020, my own Mother was unable to continue living independently and so when our family had to make that difficult decision, we didn't hesitate to think again of Oak Lodge. We were delighted to hear that many of the staff members who had made life happy, safe and fun for my mother-in-law were still at Oak Lodge and all with the same dedication and enthusiasm for life that we had seen a few years back. Our family was delighted and although my Mother was hesitant about residential care, she was willing to give it a try after the welcome she received. Despite all the pressures that 2020 had brought this sector, Oak Lodge has remained the haven we remember from previous times. The care, patience and good natured nurturing staff are a real credit to the caring profession and we stand in awe of the whole Oak Lodge team. We thank them all.
On our first visit to Oak Lodge, we were impressed by the modern, well-maintained gardens and facilities, all situated in quiet pleasant Hampshire countryside. Mum initially agreed to a four-week stay to experience life at Oak Lodge for herself. During that time she was so happy with the kindness, assistance and willing support from the different Oak Lodge teams that she asked to extend her stay. Mum has now been resident at Oak Lodge for over four years and she was delighted to be able to celebrate her 100th birthday there two years ago with friends and relatives. Mum is happy to know she can rely on the staff who are knowledgeable, considerate, well-organised and work efficiently as a team. Mum continues to feel "at home" at Oak Lodge; she is contented and relieved to be free from the worries she had in the past when living alone at home.
My Aunt has been living at Oak Lodge for more than 3 years now, and it felt like home from the moment we moved her in. I have never had a worry, or doubt that this home was a very lucky find. It is so clean, something that impressed me at the beginning and standards have never slipped. The staff are all happy in their work and very friendly and approachable, it feels like one big family. Every visit has uplifted me, seeing the care that everyone gets and the happy atmosphere. My Aunt does not make the most of the activities and facilities as she likes to be in her room, but evidence of lots of crafts and events reflects how everyone is treated individually. My Aunt has coped with the restricted visits during recent lockdowns, and alternatives have been put in place brilliantly. In fact, I think I am missing the visits to the activity room, making coffee and sitting down for a chat with my Aunt overlooking the terrace more than her!
