My husband has been a resident for 9 months and I have been extremely pleased with his loving care he has received during that time. His concerns are listened to and acted upon; when he is off-colour and nothing appeals to him, staff go to no end of trouble to find something he will enjoy and all our family are made to feel very welcome when we visit him.

Christmas was amazing and although the thought of my dear husband going to a nursing home was very upsetting, the reality is I could have provided the level of loving care for him on my own.

Ever since my mother entered Oak Lodge four years ago, she has been saying how very happy she is there, how very good the staff are and how nothing is too much trouble for them. There are always many activities to join in with or social events to enjoy, but she most likes to meet visitors and talk to other residents. She repeatedly says how many friends she has made and for her, it's like being part of a large family, with a room stuffed full of flowers and presents.
For us, visiting is like going to her own home too, where we make drinks in the guest kitchen, join her for lunch, take part in the parties and celebrations - the last was the Christmas day champagne reception, the next will be her birthday. The staff are like extended family to her and to us as well.

The home itself is always bright and cheerful, with beautiful decorations to celebrate changing seasons. It looks out on the lovely gardens, or fields with birds and deer, with plenty of places to sit out and enjoy either.

Dad has been in residence now for 3 months and seems very happy with all aspects of his care. His room is spotless and he seems well cared for. I never thought he would settle like he has and it has been a weight lifted off my shoulders.

Everyone at this home is so friendly, from the laundry to the office staff and I couldn't have wished for better for my dad.

Always a pleasure to visit Oak Lodge Nursing Home to see our uncle who is well cared for. The atmosphere in the home is friendly and organised with decorations frequently changing in the communal areas to reflect the time of year and various events.

Noting is too much trouble for management and staff and there are also various outings outside of the home organised, which must require a great deal of effort from the staff. It is a wonderful care home.

The environment is always clean and warm and special events are celebrated with decorations. The staff are helpful and show respect to the residents. There are a variety of activities available and personal carer e.g hair and nails are offered to residents.
I feel welcomed when I visit and can freely talk about any information or advice with staff.

The home is beautifully set in really lovely grounds ideal for a walk out with a wheelchair.

Oak Lodge Nursing Home had an inspection is rated outstanding. (March '17). This to me speaks volumes about the home, the staff and the care for all residents, they deserved this rating. This home will take some beating for the location in the countryside and I believe that Oak Lodge Nursing Home is one of the best around.

An excellently managed and organised nursing home where the residents are treated with respect and encouraged to recover or optimise their lives as far as physical/age concerns allow. Staff are always friendly and well trained and know the residents and relatives names.

I have been extremely impressed with the level and sincerity of Care provided at Oak Lodge. The rest of the comment is just to use up the minimum 100 characters which is really annoying when you're busy.

I couldn't feel more confident - my father is safe, warm, well fed and most of all respected. Oak Lodge Nursing Home presents a welcoming and friendly environment that cares for all inside. We visit when we like and are always greeted with smiles and space to be together as a family.

As a family, we know our 93-year-old mother is in the best place to be looked after in her senior years. I pop in to see her 2/3 times a week and on every occasion, I am struck with how caring and friendly the whole team of staff and management are.

My aunt has been at Oak Lodge Nursing Home for a year now: she moved in just before she turned 90 and became too frail to continue living alone at home. Oak Lodge Nursing Home wasn't our first choice (it initially had no vacancies) but we're very glad she was able to move. She has settled in, and I know that the manager and her team look after her well. I no longer worry about my aunt, which is a relief because I live over an hour and a half drive away and have caring responsibilities at home which means it's hard for me to visit.

Communication isn't easy for us because my aunt is too deaf to talk on the phone - and this is perhaps something Oak Lodge Nursing Home could think about. My aunt and I are lucky that she has a good friend who visits regularly, so I know that my aunt is well and in good hands: she helps us to stay in touch too, and this is really important to both of us.

Mother has been well cared for at Oak Lodge Nursing Home. The carers are kind and professional but there does seem to be a problem retaining staff.

The building is always clean and well decorated.

My father has been resident in Oak Lodge for nearly 3 years. He is extremely well looked after, the staff are always friendly with a smile and nothing is too much trouble. Standards of cleanliness, food, laundry together with personal care cannot, in my opinion, be faulted and always of a high standard. The staff at Oak Lodge go above and beyond with daily activities/entertainment. There always seems to be an excuse for a celebration not limited to Easter, Halloween, Christmas etc. Spring, summer, Queen's birthday and much more warrant a celebration. :)

I am a carer for an elderly friend and her Power of Attorney. She has been a resident at Oak Lodge for over six years. The care is excellent, the kindness, respect and dignity is shown at all times. It is the only care home I should want her in. Oak Lodge is the best and only nursing home I would recommend. A big thank you to all of the staff.

My mother spent the last six months of her life in Oak Lodge, I do not think we could have found a better place for her. The residents are treated as individuals and their individual needs are catered for in every possible way.
The standard of cleanliness is excellent, whenever you visit, the home smells fresh and clean.
All staff treated my mum with care and respect, spending time with her whenever they could. They were all like an extension of our family.

She was very happy here right up to the last moments of her life.

The whole team are extremely pleasant, caring, friendly, helpful, nothing was too much trouble.
The food was very good, plenty of variety made sure they know likes and dislikes of the resident.
Plenty of activities for residents who are encouraged to join in - gardening, quizzes, singing, crafts and entertainers from singers to Morris dancers.
There are displays for annual events Easter, Christmas, Valentines, Wimbledon, Olympics, May Day and plenty more.
They have a Summer Fete, Christmas Bazaar.

My family and I were extremely lucky that Dad's final months were spent in such a safe and caring home.
