As Health and Safety Advisor, you will:
- As a valued member of our support centre, the Health and Safety Advisor will take the lead of health and safety related practices across the organisation.
- You will have an understanding of health and safety within a healthcare setting
- You will encourage a positive health and safety culture across the organisation
- Have the ability to write and review documents including policies and procedures.
- You will investigate incidents and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending improvements
- Support managers with risk assessments, care environment safety plans and safe systems of work.
- Liaise with external regulators such as the HSE and CQC when required
- Have the attention to detail and the ability to deliver instruction and training, where required
What We’re Looking For:
- The ability to interpret and apply legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act and associated regulations
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a wide range of people.
- Experience of co-ordinating multiple tasks at the same time, including accurate recording of task progress.
- Ability to write and deliver reports to the Quality Board Committee.
- Using Microsoft applications, in particular Outlook, Word, Excel and Teams.
- Full UK Driving Licence with no more than 3 penalty points
- Strong analytical skills to identify trends and proactively manage risk
- Health & Safety qualification, e.g. IOSH, NEBOSH (desirable)
