Rowden House

Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I have been very happy with the care of my mother at Rowden House. She was there for over two years and was very content. I had never had to worry about her I knew that as soon as there were any issues they would contact me straight away. Mixed feelings about the laundry service. A few of my mothers
clothes were spoilt. I knew that they have to be washed at certain temperatures, for sanitary reasons. But I am afraid that I cannot think of answer to resolve this.
Reply from Rowden House, Somerset Care at Rowden HouseDear Janet, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback for the care your Mother received at Rowden House. It was our privilege to care for her, and our pleasure to see her content. Thank you for speaking with us at the time about laundry arrangements for some of your Mother's more delicate clothing, which unfortunately were not suitable for washing at the higher temperatures we must adhere to for hygiene reasons. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Kind regards,

Wyndham House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
I have been very impressed with Wyndham House. Both my mum and dad have been in Wyndham House. And my mother is there now full-time. I feel that the staff have gone over and above to make both my parents feel comfortable. And a valid member of Wyndham House. It's like a big family. The management staff
are amazing .
The food is really good and I've eaten there many times myself . To have dinner with my mum and dad. Is such a great thing to do with them.
I love the way the place looks. It's so clean everything is organised practical and functional. It's a great weight of my mind that I know both my parents are being looked after very well . That they are in a safe environment. The last thing I'd like to add is there is always some form of entertainment and always activities going on. Help is always at hand to help the residence with anything that they need.
Reply from Wyndham House, Somerset Care at Wyndham HouseDear Claire, thank you so much for your kind words. It is our privilege to count both of your parents - and yourself - as valued members of our Wyndham House family. We look forward to welcoming you back for your next visit and meal together as a family.

My Mum had been in Field House for nearly 3 years. In October her health declined Field House kept me updated of any changes in which it made me feel more relaxed knowing I would know when I needed to be there. The Staff and Management gave 100% in Mum's final days and also care given to us as a
family was exceptionally above and beyond. I will always treasure the time Mum was there as she was so happy and content. We had 3 years longer with Mum that we would of had and she was 96 .

A lovely welcoming home with the most amazing staff. There's always something going on for the residents. Every ones happy there. Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our son became unwell - waking up in the morning with breathing difficulties. He was admitted into hospital with a severe chest infection. When in hospital the manager of Halcon visited on a regular basis as did some staff. They made sure that our sons needs were met and that the hospital staff were
made aware that he was very unlikely to communicate about wheather we was in any pain, thirsty, uncomfortable, need to pass urine. It was essential that the nursing staff asked hime about his needs.
Reply from Halcon Centre, Somerset Care at Halcon CentreDear Dale, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback for the Halcon Centre. We were pleased to be able to advocate for your son during his recent hospital stay, helping the nursing team there to understand his needs and ensure they could be met. We will share your kind words with the Halcon team.

My mother has been a resident at Field house for about 18 months now. We are very pleased to have found this care home for her.
The care and attention she receives is very good. The staff are brilliant, the home provides plenty of activities. She loves to go into the gardens which has always been a
passion of hers, and help with growing plants in the polytunnel.
This care home mum has fond memories as a child and we feel is a big benefit to her.
Any medical appointments are delt with by the staff who will take her for any appointments.
She is very well looked after and will contact us if we need to be told anything regarding her welfare

We as a family think that Sydenham House is amazingly good. Each and every carer treat my mum with kindness, respect, thoughtfulness, and care. The premises are always clean, and during the winter months, lovely and warm compared to the outside temperature. The food is of excellent quality and mum always
enjoys her meals and desserts plus hot and cold drinks. The management are very friendly to us as well. We highly recommend Sydenham House for a loved one. Thank you to all.

Frith House

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
When my father passed away in late September 2025, he and his family experienced once again the incredible compassion, strongest of support, and true professionalism of the whole Frith House team. Having spent several years in Frith House, we have seen only the most dedicated and dignified treatment
for my father, at a personal level, during both the good and the more difficult times of his progressive dementia. Living on the other side of the world always made logistics complex for my family, but the staff were excellent at keeping us updated and sharing both the small and more consequential details of my father when he was no longer able to communicate easily. I was deeply impressed by the care and compassion shown both to daddy and my family during the final days, and the guidance and support following his passing as well. I remain deeply indebted to a group of true professionals who were always there for my father and his family -- thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
Reply from Frith House, Somerset Care at Frith HouseDear Rose, thank you so much for your heartfelt and truly humbling review. It was a privilege to care for your Father at Frith House during his final precious chapter, and we were glad to be able to keep you informed and involved with his care throughout. Your words mean the world, and we will be sure to share them with all those who supported your Father during his time with us. We continue to hold you in our thoughts.
Kind regards,
Frith House

Mum has been at Fletched House for almost one year. She took a few weeks to settle. The staff were excellent at making her feel 'at home' Mum now will tell you that she is very happy, with all her needs being met. She has wonderful care by a great team of people. Her room is cosy and kept very clean.
The food is amazing but if Mum fancies something else the kitchen will provide it if they can. WE haven't had a proble but feel sure it would be dealt with. We cannot praise this care home enough. To every member of staff - Thank you!!

I am an occasional visitor to Calway House over a short period since my neighbour/friend has been admitted. Hence my limited knowledge of some of the ratings are not relevant (i.e. Value for Money) Overall I have been impressed with the standard of care provided from very pleasant, helpful staff who
are genuinely caring for patients. Standard of cleanliness appears high and it seems to me to be a very happy place.
