I have always selected Halcon for my respite stays as it meets my needs in every way. Experienced in spinal care and its occasional problems which can be acute if not recognised quickly, you are able to feel confident and just enjoy yourself.
The staff are friendly, courteous and there is always laughter
. You are encouraged to participate in various activities or left in peace if preferred. Outings into town , cinema trips, garden centres, can be arranged with the activities team, in fact on this last visit I did all three .
I really have no negative feelings about my stay. Everyone on the staff are excellent and helpful both to residents and each other.
If you want to feel you are on holiday in a very good hotel in lovely surroundings and above all safe, taking home lovely memories as I do then you will not be disappointed.

My stepmother spent just over 2 years at Cooksons Court. In this time, she was always treated well and with dignity. She was contented and the staff never insisted that hse left her room. I would recommend Cooksons Court.

Wessex House is a lovely friendly home, very welcoming, the rooms are kept really clean and tidy, the cleaners are very nice. All the residents look clean and well fed, the selection of meals reflect the age of the residents e.g. meat or fish + veg.
The coffee mornings are very popular, the staff
make it feel special, with a raffle and quizzes and our yesterdays leaflet, very welldone. Overall the home has a family feel, I always welcome when I visit.

Field Hoyse gave the best care to my sister. Every staff member treated my sister with respect, patience and thought. The manager of the home had excellent management skills and had a special skill where dealing with staff and residents alike. Nothing was too much trouble. An excellent timetable of
activities and my sister told me the food was good - "just like home cooked!". I would have no problem with my sister residing at Field House in the future and would highly recommend.

Croft House is odourless, very clean and all staff very caring. On my latest visit, it happened to be my neighbours birthday and staff had provided a lovely tea/cake to mark the occasion which was thoroughly enjoyed. Praise to staff for arranging
this. Having known that she is happy and content in a well run home that also has wonderful views for residents.

My mum was a resident here for four years and it was welcoming and friendly. All the staff encouraged and supported her as dementia and mobility loss took hold. I always found it to be a caring environment and had a homely feeling.

My mother has dementia and was very reluctant to leave her family home.
Since moving into Grovelands her confidence, health and overall demeanor has improved no end. I put this largely down to the fantastic staff at Grovelands.
They have been so accommodating and welcoming, I feel a great deal of relief
and comfort that she is being cared for with compassion and dignity 24/7.
The light, airy home is kept spotlessly clean and the meals are fantastic and varied.

A really good and caring residential home which has a lovely homely feeling to it. The staff are really friendly, informative and always willing to help.
As in many cases this was quite a traumatic experience moving our mum into residential care, but it has been handled in an extremely sympathetic and
empathetic way.
What a lovely home operated by superb staff. Thoroughly recommended.

Since my sister has been at Wessex House (approximately 6 months) I've not found any staff member - for example carers, nurses, cleaners, cooks or any others especially the events organisers that were not willing to help at any time.

My uncle stayed at Stockmoor for over four years. During his stay he was well looked after and told me he was very happy with his care. The staff were always friendly and informative. And always sharing a laugh and joke with my uncle.

My sister seems happily settled at Pulsford Lodge and is being well cared for. Her room is comfortable with lovely view over garden and towards hills and pastures. The staff arrange a variety of activities which she enjoys and help keep her active mentally and physically.

Overall the care home is very well run and it has made my husband very welcome it's bright clean and seems to be a happy place, the food seems good and his room is spacious and very clean, there seems to be plenty of things to do if my husband wants to.

My mum spent her second time at Lavender Court for respite care. My mum loves staying here as she really enjoys chatting to the other residents she is with and the staff, who have looked after her so well. I would highly recommend Lavender Court as the care is excellent and the staff are so kind,
friendly and helpful. Thank you Lavender Court for all you do for mum, I am so glad we found you.

February was a difficult month for Mum, staff were extra vigilant at my request. They managed this with utmost discretion and I could not have asked for more support, care and understanding. They are a great time. It is such a relief to know that she is in expert, compassionate hands. Thank you.

Pulsford was recommended to us from a family friend and ex-colleague. I have been very impressed with management and care staff alike. Communication with family on the whole is good and staff are willing to listen and act upon requests or queries I may have. Dad has settled very well, enjoys the food
and has even made a few friends!

Mum went to Calway House for a period of respite care after being in hospital. Mum was on Laurel, she settled in well and had a lovely room, everyone made her feel welcome. After a few weeks Mum said she felt very safe and well cared for and she would like to stay at Calway House. We were very happy
to support her decision knowing that she was receiving the best possible care and support from a wonderful team who were so kind and caring. Mum loved getting her hair and nails done, joined in some of the activities and enjoyed being able to go out into the garden in the summer. When Mum became unwell and didn't want to go into hospital the staff supported her through her final few days with such kindness, care and compassion. They really were wonderful to her and to us during this very difficult time. We are so grateful that Mum had almost a year at Calway House where we spent many happy times, drinking tea, chatting and enjoying being together without any worry.
