A lovely care home. The staff are all very friendly and attentive and have done a wonderful job looking after my mum towards the end of her life.
I was able to visit any time of day and night and all the staff I met had taken the time to get to know my mum and understand her needs.
The home is kept
very clean and tidy. I was even offered a room for the night to be near my mum towards the end.
Thank you Stockmoor Lodge.

I visit my brother several days a week, the staff are always kind and friendly, ready to help in any way they can. The home is well equipped, the rooms are bright and clean. My brother is always treated with care and dignity. Would recommend to anyone. My one small gripe, the food is a bit bland and
unappealing! I realise they are cooking for many people.

1. Staff are wonderful. Nursing, care, housekeeping, and admin staff all interact brilliantly with residents; we see only kindness every time we visit (3-4 times per week).
2. Activities are great and inclusive. Mum may not interact, but she likes being amongst people. A very positive benefit.
3.
We know that mum's medical needs are always dealt with by medical and all staff. We have complete confidence.
4. The home is bright, clean and well maintained - often decorated for events.
5. Food smells lovely, varied and nutritional.

This is our first experience of a care home and what I have seen and how my husband, the resident and myself, as his wife/visitor, have been looked after has been excellent. All the staff are friendly, approachable and want to help in anyway they can. The rooms are of a good standard and you are encouraged
to bring anything in from home to make it more comfortable. All in all I have been very impressed.

Visited mum with our youngest son and his family and found mum already in the lounge. We had a great time with her and the staff were lovely not only to mum but to us as well. The staff get on very well with mum and cater for all her needs. We have always found that whatever staff are on duty they
are very caring and very helpful if we have any questions. The same when I ring in always find them helpful. Mum enjoys going to the activities and I have always found Kate very friendly and helpful she is a real asset to Stockmoor.

I was very grateful for the level of care my mother received, for the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff, for the quality of the communication I received, for the cleanliness of all the facilities, and for the quality of the administration. The concern, support and care during my mother's
difficult last few days were exceptional. Mum has been in a number of care homes and I have visited a number of others. Stockmoor Lodge is the best I've received and I'm happy to recommend it to others.

Stockmoor Lodge cared for my father during a recent respite period. He has Dementia, so the 24 Hour a day care he needs puts a large strain on my mum.
Stockmoor Lodge allows my mum to get a much needed break and visit her sister who lives abroad.
These periods of respite care are what I feel keeps
her sane during this troubling time.
Everyone at Stockmoor Lodge are very friendly and always make a big fuss of him during his stays. When we go to collect him after his stay he is always happy and looks well cared for.
The staff members at Stockmoor Lodge are a credit to Somerset Care and we hope to have their assistance during future spells of respite. Thank you all.

My mum was a very happy resident at Stockmoor Lodge for 20 months. She loved everything about it, the view from her room, the lounge/dining room, the activities, the food (especially the puddings!) and most of all she loved the staff. They had laughs with her, were so patient with her and provided outstanding
care. When she passed away she was treated with dignity and respect at all times. Thank you for making her time with you so special for her & her extended family & friends when visiting.

Having made a safe environment for mum it was hard to enter the next chapter in life for her. I shouldn't have been so worried - from the home visit until her first day my mind was put to rest by all the lovely staff who were so welcoming and all her needs are catered for. Stockmoor Lodge itself is
so fresh and clean and bright. My mum's room is immaculate and very comfortable with a walk in shower. Stockmoor Lodge exceeds our expectations. Thank you.

After being a resident at Stockmore Lodge for two years, Mum passed away in January aged 98 after 11 long weeks at end of life. During that time, my sister and I took turns to sit with her throughout the day. The staff respected our desire to do as much for mum as we were able and were always wonderfully
caring and considerate of our needs as well as mum's. Mum received excellent care. We were with her for the last 26 hours, and when she passed away we were overwhelmed by the genuine love and support we were shown by all the staff, not merely the frontline nurses and carers. Moreover, we were deeply moved by the dignity and respect shown to mum in death. The last two years have been emotionally draining as we daily faced mum's declining health and the inevitable. So often we have witnessed staff going above and beyond in their care of residents. We know in our hearts that despite not being able to care for her at home, Mum was loved as well as cared for by the wonderful team at Stockmoor Lodge. Thank you all.

My mum joined Stockmoor Lodge in January for respite care. It was a difficult decision for us as a family, as mum had been so independent prior to a recent hospital stay. We should never have worried!
It soon became apparent, to both mum and the family, that staying as a full time resident, was going
to be the best option for her. We all initially struggled to accept that this may be her new home, but after the support shown to her by all the staff, the kindness and consideration the transition has been easy.
All of the staff work really hard at making Stockmoor a cosy, active, loving and secure home and the improvement in mums health, both mental and physical has been amazing.
The management, in particular, have made sure that the family have been involved and informed with all aspects of Mum's stay and they have gone above and beyond to help us facilitate her move. A million thanks will never be enough, they have given me back my mum.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.886)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.886) out of 10 for Stockmoor Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.886 for Stockmoor Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (400 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 447 Ratings = 4.886
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stockmoor Lodge is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 90 registered maximum number of service users is 18, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
