Opened in March 2017, Stockmoor Lodge is a purpose-built home providing residential, nursing, and dementia care, located in Bridgwater.

The home comes complete with a hairdressing salon and coffee lounge on-site and offers a varied programme of daytime activities for residents and day care visitors.

The home is staffed by a team of trained and qualified nurses and experienced health care assistants. Meals are prepared daily on-site by a dedicated kitchen team.

The bedrooms at Stockmoor Lodge are bright, spacious and en-suite, and although furnished, residents are welcome to bring their own furniture if they so choose. Accommodation is situated over three floors, accessible by lift, with views of the Sedgemoor countryside.

A renowned interior designer has combined practical features with colourful, eye-catching detail to create an environment which is understanding of the needs of those living with dementia. She works closely with the dementia services development centre at the University of Stirling and is Chairman of the SBID Healthcare Design Advisory Council.

All staff so very helpful and very kind. Could not do enough for us. So caring and loved the send-off you gave her. Service of food and drinks was excellent. Even the maintenance staff offered us drinks and any assistance. Thank you all for loving her.

Came to look at Stockmoor Lodge on behalf of our stepmum. We were impressed as soon as we arrived. Very friendly staff welcomed us and we felt this was the ideal home for our stepmum. Sadly was only a resident for 2+ weeks but we know she was very well looked after by all the staff. We would 100% recommend

I am very happy my mum and dad in law are being cared for here. Everyone is so nice and friendly to them, nothing is any bother, they have nice rooms and get staff constantly checking they are okay or need anything. There are lovely balconies where they love to go and sit and watch the children playing
and traffic moving along with countryside hill views to see. The food is of a very high standard and father in law laps it up, always looks nice and plentiful. I would recommend this home to anyone wanting peace of mind for their loved ones.

Stockmoor Lodge is exactly the nursing home I pictured in my mind's eye when needing to accommodate my father.
Dad had very complex health needs and from the time an initial assessment was undertaken it was clear they would be ideal for him.
When he moved in all of the nursing staff had taken the
time to understand Dad’s requirements and devoted time to him to further their understanding. Dad was treated in a way that was “normal”. A lot of laughter and smiles from both the staff and dad reassured me this was the best place for dad. When additional equipment was needed it was found promptly. If calls had to be made to GPs or paramedics the staff were in touch with me in a very timely manner.
The care staff grew to understand Dad’s little quirks very quickly and could assist him more than others had in the past.
The family feeling in the home made both Dad and my family feel welcome any time of day or night. Stockmoor Lodge is an outstanding place to reside.

My mum spent her first ever week in the care home at the age of 91.; this was very hard for her. The experience was amazing. She enjoyed the whole week. Her room was like a hotel room - spacious and spotlessly clean. Her food was plentiful and she enjoyed all of it. She loved playing bingo and dominoes
- not done for years and liked talking to other residents in the day room.
We will not hesitate for her to go out again for respite care.

My parents have been residents for a number of years and are happy.
They are well-appointed and well-cared for. The caring tea, are always welcoming, friendly and supportive. If issues arise, they are supportive and sort them out. The home would gain from increased trips out.

My neighbour and I visit regularly to see a friend. Stockmoor Lodge is so friendly, all staff showing care and concern. It feels like a family home! We love the spacious resident's rooms and the decor, lovely colours, modern and always fresh. Have recommended it to our own families. Truly is a home

Stockmoor Lodge is helping to make a difficult time manageable. Always welcoming when I walk through the door. The meals are excellent, with hot and cold drinks available all the time. Most of the staff are attentive to Mum's and our needs.

Both the staff and management of Stockmoor Lodge have been the most caring and supportive of any care that I have experienced. The dignity and love that they showed to my father, as well as the support and assistance given to me during an extremely difficult time, was exceptional. I cannot praise Stockmoor

Very happy.
It’s really nice to know Mum is safe and being very well cared for.
Staff are wonderful with Mum - caring, understanding, patient and has a wonderful sense of humour.

Mum moved to Stockmoor in June 2023, I can only say good things from what I have seen.
All the staff have respected how I wanted to integrate Mum into staying there permanently, they have all been very approachable and portray a very relaxed and happy place to be.
I am really pleased with how they
have joined her in with the activities, the team certainly go above and beyond and, after a very difficult time at home, it is very reassuring to see a smile on her face again. Seeing photos around the home of what she has been up to is one of the highlights of my visit.
Mum raves about the food, again very different from when she was at home. She really missed her dog and he has even been made very welcome on our visits!

My sister-in-law was treated very kindly during her stay on Quintock Wing at Stockmoor Lodge. She was as happy as she could be - signing and laughing and joining in activities when her mood was good. She was supervised to dress and take care of herself. Birthdays etc were celebrated to make her feel
special. When I visited, I was always warmly welcomed by the staff. The whole place had a friendly 5* feel to it, with 5* staff.

Since the new activity coordinator has started, the activities are alot better, and with more going on, the residents look so much happier with doing more and joining in more.

The staff at Stockmoor Lodge are mostly (99.9%) friendly and helpful. Some are not, and their manner is abrupt and potentially intimidating. The care Grandad receives is mostly good. However, we have to monitor closely his dry skin condition and oral care of his tongue and glasses care. I can appreciate
the crisis of recruiting and retaining and physically demanding role/job. However, Grandad has been a carer to many, so now it is his time to be cared for. We are willing and assessed as okay to support his care needs in the home to help.

On every visit to Stockoor, I found the staff to be welcoming to me. I visit my mother and some days she knows me, and some days she doesn't, and that is very hard to deal with. The fact that the staff show their care and affection to the residents makes the atmosphere calm. It is always clean and tidy,
and there are no unpleasant smells. The bedrooms are nicely furnished and decorated. The food is superb.

My father passed away in February 2023 after having spent two years at Stockmoor Lodge, firstly in one of the dementia wards and then more recently in the nursing care ward.
