My mum spent her first ever week in the care home at the age of 91.; this was very hard for her. The experience was amazing. She enjoyed the whole week. Her room was like a hotel room - spacious and spotlessly clean. Her food was plentiful and she enjoyed all of it. She loved playing bingo and dominoes - not done for years and liked talking to other residents in the day room.
We will not hesitate for her to go out again for respite care.

Staff very caring at all times.

My parents have been residents for a number of years and are happy.

They are well-appointed and well-cared for. The caring tea, are always welcoming, friendly and supportive. If issues arise, they are supportive and sort them out. The home would gain from increased trips out.

My neighbour and I visit regularly to see a friend. Stockmoor Lodge is so friendly, all staff showing care and concern. It feels like a family home! We love the spacious resident's rooms and the decor, lovely colours, modern and always fresh. Have recommended it to our own families. Truly is a home from home. Thank you.

Stockmoor Lodge is helping to make a difficult time manageable. Always welcoming when I walk through the door. The meals are excellent, with hot and cold drinks available all the time. Most of the staff are attentive to Mum's and our needs.

Both the staff and management of Stockmoor Lodge have been the most caring and supportive of any care that I have experienced. The dignity and love that they showed to my father, as well as the support and assistance given to me during an extremely difficult time, was exceptional. I cannot praise Stockmoor Lodge enough. They are truly wonderful.

Mum moved to Stockmoor in June 2023, I can only say good things from what I have seen.
All the staff have respected how I wanted to integrate Mum into staying there permanently, they have all been very approachable and portray a very relaxed and happy place to be.
I am really pleased with how they have joined her in with the activities, the team certainly go above and beyond and, after a very difficult time at home, it is very reassuring to see a smile on her face again. Seeing photos around the home of what she has been up to is one of the highlights of my visit.
Mum raves about the food, again very different from when she was at home. She really missed her dog and he has even been made very welcome on our visits!

Thank you Stockmoor, you're all amazing.

My sister-in-law was treated very kindly during her stay on Quintock Wing at Stockmoor Lodge. She was as happy as she could be - signing and laughing and joining in activities when her mood was good. She was supervised to dress and take care of herself. Birthdays etc were celebrated to make her feel special. When I visited, I was always warmly welcomed by the staff. The whole place had a friendly 5* feel to it, with 5* staff.

Since the new activity coordinator has started, the activities are alot better, and with more going on, the residents look so much happier with doing more and joining in more.
Well done.

Overall Experience

The staff at Stockmoor Lodge are mostly (99.9%) friendly and helpful. Some are not, and their manner is abrupt and potentially intimidating. The care Grandad receives is mostly good. However, we have to monitor closely his dry skin condition and oral care of his tongue and glasses care. I can appreciate the crisis of recruiting and retaining and physically demanding role/job. However, Grandad has been a carer to many, so now it is his time to be cared for. We are willing and assessed as okay to support his care needs in the home to help.

On every visit to Stockoor, I found the staff to be welcoming to me. I visit my mother and some days she knows me, and some days she doesn't, and that is very hard to deal with. The fact that the staff show their care and affection to the residents makes the atmosphere calm. It is always clean and tidy, and there are no unpleasant smells. The bedrooms are nicely furnished and decorated. The food is superb.

My father passed away in February 2023 after having spent two years at Stockmoor Lodge, firstly in one of the dementia wards and then more recently in the nursing care ward.

Staff were well aware of his needs and afforded him the time, care and dignity he required.

My godmother has just sadly passed at Stockmoor Lodge. After two previous care homes, we were fortunate enough that, with nursing needs, she was transferred to Stockmoor Lodge. Finally, I could let go and trust the caring staff to give care. I was regularly updated by a very lovely member of staff, and my godmothers' room, where she passed, was clean, warm and peaceful. This was the nursing unit of the Lodge, and judging by previous places where my godmother had been a resident, in the short term, I think that Stockmoor Lodge would take some beating.

Thanks to the staff on the Carousel unit for the care received and for making my almost 98-year-old godmother comfortable during her end-of-life.

Thank you for the wonderful care you gave to my dad in his final weeks. He was only with you for four weeks until he passed away, but I couldn't have asked for better or more caring staff, especially during his last night. The staff on duty were so kind to my mum and myself as we sat with Dad overnight. They made sure he was kept comfortable, and nothing was too much trouble.

All of the staff who work there are so friendly and caring. I would recommend Stockmoor Lodge to anyone.
