Wyndham House

My father who suffers from dementia, spent a respite week here. I myself live in the Netherlands but communication was always good, via email or phone. My father said he was treated like a King, which was a massive relief to me as this was his first time in a care home. The staff were always on hand to help dad and they were always there to answer any questions. This would be an ideal permanent place for dad but unfortunately due to the pricing policy between Somerset Care and this care home it would be out of our budget.

We were always very welcomed and looked after too. Many, many thanks from all the family for looking after Mum during her stay it is much appreciated.

My relative was in Wyndham House for approximately 11 months as a resident and prior to that for regular respite. I can not fault the care that he received. He was treated with kindness and dignity at all times. He loved the garden and the activities, and also loved the food. Thank you.

The care mum received in the 15 months she was a resident at Wyndham was excellent. All the staff were professional and caring. They treated mum with respect and dignity. She loved the activities and interacted with the staff. She really felt like she was at home, she had not been as happy in a long time. Her partner died in the home in 2024, and they all helped her through her grief. We cannot thank everyone in the home enough for all their care and love. We would definitely recommend Wyndham House.

My brother had a fear of moving into a care home because of his trust issues, but his dementia had reached a level preventing him from remaining in his flat in London despite having regular carers. In December he moved into Wyndham House and the staff have transformed his life with their care. He is joining in the arts and music activities, enjoying their meals and feels like he's in heaven. The staff have shown exceptional consideration in caring for him and we the family are always made welcome when visiting him. We thank the staff for their exception efforts in caring for my brother.

I love the way the place looks. It's so clean everything is organised practical and functional. It's a great weight of my mind that I know both my parents are being looked after very well . That they are in a safe environment. The last thing I'd like to add is there is always some form of entertainment and always activities going on. Help is always at hand to help the residence with anything that they need.

A lovely welcoming home with the most amazing staff. There's always something going on for the residents. Every ones happy there. Mum is receiving the best care and we know she is being well looked after. As she told us 'you can't look after me as well as they do!' The food is excellent and a good choice. Visitors are made so welcome - home from home.

As ever a pleasant visit to Wyndham House. I was greeted at the door with a smile and asked how I was today. Dad was happy in his room it was a sunny day and we went for a pub lunch. The staff were happy to cancel his lunch with WH. Both my parents came to WH in the summer of 2022. Mum died in 2024. I am a regular visitor. The care received has been excellent not only to my parents, but to me when mum died. All the staff have been amazing and I have peace of mind and don't have to worry. This is priceless.

Brilliant staff kept us informed, kept in touch throughout. Dealt with any issues promptly and professionally. Really great team did absolutely everything they could to make us all feel welcome and to ultimately find an appropriate place for mum.

I visited the residential home at the beginning of the month- it was my first time and pleasure. I've never seen such a beautiful and well organised place! The members of staff were so polite, kind and devoted to the residents, all team was hard working and united in delivering great service, management was fully engaged and supportive, the house is so clean, the activities that day were making everyone happy. We've had live music on (played by one of managers and local musicians), pizza making, bikers show which put excitement on resident's faces, there were tears of joy, lots of laughter..I loved the beautiful garden - it was so well kept, and I was impressed how warm and inviting are the residential rooms. I would be happy to stay there, but I still have to many years to go ! Very professional and well organised 5 star residential home, highly recommended for everyone who wish to stay in house that is being in high standards. Mum and dad both loved their time at Wyndham House, but as their conditions worsened, and my dad had a fall breaking his hip meaning he needed additional care that Wyndham were not able to cater for. They have moved to another nursing home. I chose this as it is in the same group under Somerset Care. So are they seem happy in their new home. Thank you Wyndham for making the transition as easy as it could be.

The residents I spoke to were really enthusiastic about the activities that had been organised, especially the motorbike cavalcade where about a dozen local bikers had brought their bikes along to display. Even though it rained everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Very friendly and caring staff. Both my parents are in Wyndam House. They are in a friendly and caring place very homely atmosphere, and we'll be looked after. They were able to bring their reclining chairs from home, which made them feel at home. I would not want them anywhere else.

What a wonderful and caring home Wyndham House is. I and my uncle have been so impressed with the whole experience since the first meeting with the management team at the assessment stage. The care and thought that went into the preparation of his room and the subsequent welcome was very reassuring and very much appreciated by my uncle and the rest of the family. I have had lots of experience visiting care homes and I can say without doubt that Wyndham House and the caring staff is the very best. My uncle is there for a 2 weeks Respite Break but after only a couple of days there he has told me he would like to stay full time 10/10. Thank you.

In the two weeks my sister was in the care of Wyndham House, I could see the change in her, uplifted, happy and like a new woman under the circumstances, the staff were amazing, the food was fabulous! Always something to do also. Highly recommend.

My Mum was at Wyndham House for two years and during that time she was well cared for every day until she passed away. The staff are some of the kindest people I have ever met, from the manager through to everyone who worked there. I was always kept informed about Mum's health and wellbeing, with a call to me if anything changed. She was encouraged to get up in the morning, take part in activities and chat to other residents, but never forced to. If she chose to get up late, then she could. Her room was small, she only went there to sleep though so it wasn't a problem. The food is varied and cooked extremely well, lots of treats as well as a balanced diet. Outside, the garden area is large and well maintained, Mum enjoyed sitting there on sunny days. As her time neared its end all the staff were so kind and caring, not only to Mum, but to my husband and I as well. If I could give them six stars I would.

My husband and I visited the home today and were very impressed by the care given to our friend. She was well dressed and groomed, very happy. She told us that the yellow coats provided excellent activities. Her room was clean and comfortable and the food excellent. She was well cared for by the nursing staff.

My wife has been attending Wyndham House for one day a week for a couple of years now. I am totally confident she receives the best of care. She is totally reliant on her carers for everything. She is always happy when I fetch her and has enjoyed the range of enrichment activities put on her the residents. She has developed trust in the staff who work hard to ensure both her physical and emotional needs and well catered for. I thank the staff for adding to her social interactions and making her life more positive.

As one of the younger 'inmates' I found end-of-day meals somewhat limiting but appreciate it suits most of the clients.

All staff were attentive to our needs. A credit to themselves and residents. Well done.
