My Mum was placed at Southlawns for 10 days during which time she recieved excellent care from all the staff. They were profesional, caring, kind and provided service with a smile. Facilities were brilliant and the attention to detail was outstanding The beautiful garden added a further dimension for my Mum to relax and enjoy.

i have come to halcon house for several years even when i had an assistance dog i took her in the garden and people would come out to say hello she was a hit !
i have found over this time to be respected even when my MS has made me decline my ability has declined and staff have always helped me in several ways
i have always appreciated their humour care and good food !

i wouldn't go anywhere else i found halcon and throughy loved being here and come several times a year especially christmas when family are doing their own thing

Overall Experience

Every member of staff, whether carer, domestic, catering, admin, etc, shows a real interest in, and care for, the individual in the home, and visiting relatives. They show an understanding of dementia, seeking to engage the individual but understanding if the response they get is confused or uncertain. The home is bright, clean, and well decorated, with interesting pictures and objects on display. There is a wide range of activities for the residents. The atmosphere in the home is positive and cheerful.

Most staff kind and helpful.
My mother is so well looked after and safe at Southlawns.

Staff turn-over a big issue and many agency staff used do not have the training or experience to carry out simple tasks. An example being one agency staff was going to empty mum's cathetar bag into the sink in her room. Mum was able to say 'don't' and tell her what to do!

My father was moved from his home to Stockmoor Lodge at very short notice in order to meet his end of life care wishes. He was assessed in the morning and transferred in the afternoon. My mother was also given a room. Both of my parents could not have been cared for any better. Kindness, professionalism and the drive to make a difficult situation as tolerable as possible ran through every staff interaction. A number of our family members visited, and several of us stayed throughout. We were given a nearby room for our own welfare needs, were offered food and supported as if we were residents ourselves - nothing was too much trouble for anyone. As my father's condition inevitably worsened, we were kept fully informed about his status and what steps were being taken to ensure his comfort right to the end. We will never forget what the whole team did for us and my father.

My son recently spent a week at The Halcon Centre during which time the staff kindly arranged for him to spend some time at the radio station. Needless to say he was delighted and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I appreciate that it was an early start for the staff to get him prepared, especially during a heatwave. He spent two hours on the radio helping to present the program along side the regular hosts. It was a dream come true for him and something he will never forget. Once again he cannot thank the staff enough for their kind perseverance in arranging this for him.

My mother stayed at Rowden House for respite care. She loved having the company joining in with activities and said the staff were wonderful! She was keen to return when it became apparent she needed more care and Rowden House have done everything they can to accomodate her and made her feel very welcome - and part of the family.

I Have a friend living in Fletcher House and visit him most Fridays and find him usually in his room but sometimes in the common room. He is always clean and tidy and dressed . He seems content living in Fletcher House. If the situation arose the my wife or I need a care home I would be happy to go there.

Mum recently stayed at Pulsford Lodge for a week, and we were extremely pleased with the care and service she received.
From the booking process through to the end of her stay, the staff were exceptionally helpful, flexible, and accommodating. Their communication was excellent throughout, which gave us great confidence and reassurance.
This was Mum's first stay in one of your establishments, and she had a very pleasant experience. Thank you to everyone involved for making her feel so welcome and well cared for.

We look forward to booking with you again in the near future.

Overall Experience

My wife was cared for in Stockmoor Lodge for nearly two years. I visited her twice a day for that period so was able to get a close insight into her care. I was always made welcome and felt support for myself when my wife was specialy poorly. Throughout the time of my wifes declining health the nursing staff worked closely with her GP. Staff of all ranks and levels are all patient compassionate and caring. 110% recommended.

Overall Experience
I was placed in here by the hospital, at the end of january 2026. I was told that I was dying. Four and a half months later, and I'm going back home, tomorrow.

The care, and everything about this place has been excellent, and I'm very grateful to them all

Overall Experience

My husband was on Cedar as an end of life resident and the care and kindness he received could not have been bettered. He felt safe, secure and cared for until he sadly passed away in June. I could not have wished for him to be in a better place where I was able to spend every day with him and get to know the caring and friendly staff. They took the time to ensure I was alright as well. Thank you to all at Calway House for this precious time.
