Overall my experience has been positive. The care my husband receives has been sufficient for his needs.
The staff are kind and helpful, communication is generally very good and necessary for the family to be kept up to date.

The care and consideration shown to my wife by the team at Lavender Court is a source of relief and satisfaction. Their ability to cope in sometimes very trying circumstances fills me with admiration and respect. Care for dementia sufferers is always difficult but the team go above and beyond and I

Today I spoke with the manager about a few issues and found her to be very approachable and friendly. She answered all my queries satisfactorily. One of my concerns was the scaffolding in particular around the courtyard, meaning no access for several months, whilst the weather is good. I was reassured
this area will be completed first to allow residents access as soon as possible.

My mum has been coming to Lavender Court for day care for a couple of months now. All the staff have been fantastic. They dealt with a tricky incident with her with care and professionalism. A big should out to all. The entertainment staff who also make mum laugh and smile. Thank you to everyone.

LC is a beautiful care home where Mum was cared for.
The only flaw was being falsely told that LC would accept adult social care funding but in reality, it was not. Mum would have still been there otherwise, along with the friends that she had made.
I cannot fault the care and attention Mum had.

My husband moved from a previous care home to Lavender Court on 11th June he died there on 23rd July. The premises were always spotless and the staff were most considerate. If I have a complaint it is that there is not sufficient staff. When my husband was critically ill it did seem an age for help
to arrive. Remembering those weeks he was there I recall, his room was facing properties on Roman Road and often we had to close the curtains and put the lights on as we were overlooked by people opposite.

My husband has been a resident since May 2020. He was very poorly and had three nurses each day who were helping me to care for him when I became ill. Because of the excellent care he has received, he is still alive. We were told in April he would not survive! My only frustration are the awful communications.
Not able to get through on the telephone, unreliable social media connections and no updates on medical issues. Also no record of his pocket money status and when he needed a top-up until recently.

My father has dementia he struggles with change, new faces etc. We had to put him into Lavender Court to provide respite for my mother who has lung cancer. The team at Lavender Court are incredible and has really made dad welcome. Everyone we have had contact with from the lady in finance to the day
and night staff they have all been so supportive and helped make what is a really difficult time for our family much easier. To know dad is safe and well looked after and happy makes such a difference.

I was a bit apprehensive about the standard of care in Lavender Court purely due to so much bad press about rogue care homes. I found all members of staff kind, helpful, respectful and knowledgeable. My friend has just passed away this morning. She had a small close family but died with the loving company
of a carer and one of your nurses. I spent a night with you and was well looked after. The carers have such good humoured and loving motivation. I would be happy to recommend your care home to anyone.

Job Title: Registered Manager

Lavender has a dedicated, caring and happy team who thrive on their dedication to their job roles and to care for our residents. We have a very friendly environment and do our best to always make you feel welcome.


Lavender Court has a lovely open courtyard area, which can be used at any time by residents, along with other outside garden areas, and we enjoy hosting some brilliant events in this space. The home is situated next door to a Lidl and very close to pubs, takeaways and Taunton town centre – our residents and their relatives make good use of these facilities.


We have a team of four activity coordinators who are so enthusiastic about ensuring we have lots of activities available at Lavender Court, along with outsourced entertainers and theatre productions. We also try and accommodate as many outings as possible to garden centres, cafes, going into town, walks around Hamilton Park and going to events such as the Taunton Flower Show.


I feel very proud and grateful to be the Manager of Lavender Court.
