Lavender Court

This is an outstanding nursing home. The best I have had dealings with over a forty-year period in which parents, relatives and friends have needed to be "looked after" in their declining years. I cannot imagine a better place, because medical care and competence is matched by the friendliness of management and staff towards residents, relatives and visitors alike. Outstanding is its aim and it has achieved it.

The professionalism of the staff at all levels within Lavender Court, coupled with their care and compassion to their residents and visitors has been outstanding during the sadly short stay of a dear friend. It was apparent that there is a genuine commitment to ensuring the highest standards of care and wellbeing and to creating an environment which is friendly, warm and welcoming. Managers and staff alike are to be commended for creating such a special facility. The only reason for entering a 'don't know' response to questions simply reflects that the circumstances were such that they could not be taken advantage of but I've no doubt that these too would reflect the high standards in every other aspect of the home.

My mother, somewhat reluctantly, went to live at Lavender Court just over two years ago, when she became too frail with dementia to continue living alone. After a few months' transition, she settled well and became friendly with staff and other residents, and began to join in with the activities. I cannot praise the care she received sufficiently highly; the staff were unfailingly kind and helpful, and they were assiduous in calling for medical assistance when required.

Perhaps unusually Lavender Court seems to have a core of long-standing staff members who set the tone for residents' care. The home is invariably clean, residents' rooms are regularly deep-cleaned, and staff genuinely have the residents' interests at heart.

My mother died at Lavender Court recently, in the only home that she could remember, and I shall be forever grateful that they were able to look after her with real compassion in her last days.

My mum stayed at Lavender Court in late April early May for 3 weeks. The service received was excellent. Mum was made to feel welcome and looked after so well that she is looking forward to staying again. The staff are all very kind and patient, the rooms are clean and the food is the best quality. I would happily recommend this home to anyone looking for a care home for a relative.

Lavender Court is a lovely place. Staff and care could not be better. I have food problems and everyone is looking after me. I thank God I have no worries any more. Before coming here all I wanted was to end my life. I now know with the proper care which I have here, life is still worth the effort.

My partner was in Lavender Court for nearly 6 months and he had the best care anyone could wish for the staff are amazing and was there for him right to the end of his life.

This home provides wonderful care. My mother was very reluctant to consider being looked after but the staff were so welcoming and caring she quickly wouldn’t think of living anywhere else. There are plenty of activities and the food is very good. Senior staff are always willing to talk to family members. I could not praise the teams who work there highly enough.

Could not be happier, the staff are fantastic. My father is very happy here. The staff make this a special place.

The nursing staff and carers are very friendly and treat mum with empathy and we are happy knowing she is in such a caring environment. We have always been kept up to date of any problems that have occurred. You should be proud of your team of staff.

They showed great compassion.

This is the first care home my wife has attended since developing memory loss - mild cognitive/impairment it was suggested as a break for me and luckily my wife agreed. Having worked as a psychiatric nurse and before that in a local authority care home, she was amenable to the daycare. She loves it which is an absolute bonus for me. She finds the staff kind, attentive, supportive and always friendly. I find the premises clean, tidy and very calm. I would have no problems if my wife needed full-time care or in my absence to have full-time care.

I was taken to my favourite store in town by the carer. This enabled me to see my old friends from many years ago who have worked there.

We stayed and had a lovely meal and chatted lots! My friends were so pleased to see me. Later the carer arranged for a taxi to collect us. It was raining hard, but I loved every minute!

Well done Lavender Court.

Lavender Court presents a welcoming, friendly and secure environment. Clean and bright with caring, professional, approachable staff at all levels. My mother's modern room is well appointed and she is happy to have some of her personal items with her: photographs, pictures etc, on display without posing any problems to cleaning staff. Perhaps a chair with leg support would be helpful rather than relying on a small footstool. Although food is generally 'hit or miss', my mother is delighted to be able to eat in her room. I am confident in the knowledge she is in safe hands.

The care provided is of an excellent, kind and understanding nature. The food is very satisfying and of good quality with an excellent standard. The hygiene is satisfactory but of a clean appearance. The staff are always pleasant and of an understanding disposition. The overall care is very pleasing.

The home was lovely, very clean, very friendly and all the staff were the best they could. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lavender Court. Thank you for all the help and support that you gave my dad.

I couldn't be more pleased with the care my sister is having. She tells me the food is good. Most of the time she seems content. The staff are very caring and helpful. She enjoys the activities too.

Such a warm and friendly home. All the staff are welcoming and caring and have treated mum with respect and kindness from the day she moved in.
