Job summary

Team Leader / Registered Manager Assistant
Location: Near Newport City Centre
Hours: 24–36 per week (2–3 days), including weekends and bank holidays (rota issued one month in advance)
Pay: £12.80 per hour (negotiable depending on experience) + performance-based bonus scheme

We are a welcoming 17-bed EMI Residential Care Home providing high-quality, person-centred care for elderly residents, some of whom live with dementia. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Team Leader / Registered Manager Assistant to join our senior care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting the Registered Manager in the daily running of the home

  • Completing medication rounds and ordering medication

  • Reviewing and updating care plans and documentation using our care software

  • Supervising and supporting care staff, ensuring best practice at all times

  • Completing staff rotas and managing shift cover

  • Liaising with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external professionals

  • Leading staff and resident meetings

  • Meeting residents’ personal care and hygiene needs with dignity and respect

  • Assisting with audits and compliance requirements

  • Taking responsibility for running the home in the Registered Manager’s absence

Requirements:

  • NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards Level 3)

  • Experience with medication administration

  • IT literacy and confidence with care management systems

  • Strong leadership skills with a desire for continuous improvement

  • Flexibility to work weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis

  • A genuine passion for delivering person-centred care
