Hours & pay: 24 hrs (Senior) at £14.70/hr + 12 hrs (Day Carer) at £13.40/hr
Location: St Benets Court - Newton Abbot

About the role

As a Senior Carer at St Benets Court you’ll lead the team on your shift and deliver excellent, person-centred care. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility — you’ll support residents with daily care, assist with medication (following training), mentor junior staff, and contribute to care planning and record-keeping.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the care team on shift; promote best practice.
  • Administer medication following training and competency checks.
  • Provide high-quality personal care and support mealtimes/hydration.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff; complete competency sign-offs.
  • Use Carey AI for care plan updates and accurate record keeping.
  • Maintain safeguarding standards and infection-control practices.
  • Escalate clinical or safeguarding concerns to the appropriate manager.
