My uncle was in St Benets for the last 6 months of his life. During that time I saw a great change in my uncle. All of his life he had been a loner. But the staff at St Benets encouraged him to join in activities and be part of what was on offer.
He started to enjoy music activities he enjoyed painting.
He enjoyed bingo
I even saw him dancing with staff.
It was great to see.
At the end of his life when he was on palative care they watched him constantly
The staff were all so caring
They showed him love he knew they cared
And so did I.
Thank you to all the staff
You are a great set of caring people.

My relative has been in this excellent care home 3 weeks and is enjoying it. The care is outstanding with friendly, competent staff who all cannot do enough to make our experience the best. Standard of care is excellent, very effective communication keeping me informed if any change has occurred.
Resident focussed care is evident with the staff working well as a team. Manager and Deputy Managers leadership and support of staff is evident on a daily basis. So pleased I chose St Benets and thank you all for such outstanding care. Keep up the great work.

My Uncle was a resident at St Benets.
He was there for 6 months before he died in November.
During his time there he came out of his shell. He took part in most of the activites that were taking part. I saw him dance with staff. He was always smiling and laughing.
He had good food and constant care.
The home became his home his secure place.
It truly was for my uncle the best time of his life.
I will be forever grateful to St Benets for the care and love they gave my uncle and the care they afforded him in his last week of life. They were with him constantly catering fot his every need.
Bless you all.

A very welcoming home with staff and management who care for their residents. The decor has recently been updated and my Aunt's room is always clean and well maintained. I believe the food is good and the menu varied. Entertainment is provided and the residents encouraged to participate.

In my experience over a few years St Benets Court care home is a consistently caring, well managed, well balanced care home. The staff are always pleasant good humoured & attentive, there seems to be a good routine, activitys, & health care. The residents do sit out in the nice garden on sunny days,
they have little celebrations, Birthdays a garden party.
I alwats feel my relative is well looked after & there is peace of mind for his family.

My 94 year old Mother has been in St Benet's Court for three weeks Respite Care. She developed a nasty chest infection at home a few days before Christmas and couldn't stay in her own home.
Michelle, the Manager at St Benet's Court, was so positive and reassuring when I asked if a place was available.
She and Amal made sure we could get Mum admitted to St Benet's Court at very short notice. They liaised with the Intermediate Care Team and made sure that Mum got antibiotics and care.
Before going into St Benet's Court, Mum dreaded the thought of being in a Nursing Home. She thought she'd hate it. Once at St Benet's Court, she rapidly changed her mind. She has loved being there. I know she will be sad to leave.
The staff are all marvelous. Mum's room is lovely, with an ensuite loo, nice TV and plenty of space for her things.
I can unreservedly recommend St Benet's Court.

My brother has been in the care of St. Benet's for over 18 months and the care is second to none. The staff are all very professional, efficient and caring. Both the manager and deputy manager are very hands on and very much part of their team. The home is clean, tidy and bright, and is always a cheerful
place. My brother often remarks how good the food is. The chef makes amazing cakes and the home makes a big thing of celebrating resident's birthdays, Christmas, Easter and Halloween. They also have a summer garden party.
There are many activities which keeps resident's focused and entertained. These include bingo, flower arranging, drawing and painting and music, to name a few.
They have a good knowledge of dementia and all residents are encouraged to join in the activities.
I cannot recommend St. Benet's enough, and feel very happy that my brother is in such a wonderful home.

Mum moved into St Benets when she was no longer able to live alone due to her Alzheimer's. Although she struggled to settle, the staff did everything possible to help her and from the outset she was treated with kindness, consideration and respect. Every single member of staff has been friendly, helpful
and supportive. The range of activities that St Benets offers is outstanding and mum really enjoys joining in with them. The home cooked meals are fantastic and there always seems to be tea/coffee and cakes/biscuits available.

My mother broke her hip 2 weeks ago and the staff were brilliant in keeping me informed as Mum was taken to hospital ans then returned back to the home this week. My cousin's sister and I were anxious about the impact a move of care home might have upon my cousin who has advanced dementia. She was in the same more expensive care home previously for 5 years. We need not have worried. Her new room is beautiful. The transfer was managed gently and kindly by patient
staff who treated her then and now with the utmost respect. Rapidly we noticed significant positive changes in her. Previously an unresponsive woman, flat in mood and seemingly void of any understanding of her environment, she blossomed. At the previous establishment her time was spent either isolated in her bedroom or left slumped over a dining table after a meal.
At St Benets she leaves her room to spend much of her day in the lovely large day-lounge. It has a quiet area as well as a more lively activities area. She smiles, says a few happy words to staff and engages with things going on as much as is possible, given her advanced condition. We are thrilled.
Reply from Claire McMahon McMahon, Area Manager at St Benet's CourtThank you for sharing your experience. It's heartening to hear how gently and respectfully your cousin's transfer was managed and how much her quality of life has improved since moving to St Benets. The care, attention, and supportive environment clearly make a real difference, allowing her to engage, smile, and enjoy her days. Your story really highlights the dedication of the staff and the positive impact a caring home can have, even for those with advanced dementia.

My sister came to St Benet's from another care home in July this year. From the outset she was treated with kindness and respect. She settled in at the home very quickly and her care needs were monitored immediately including a review of her medication from her new GP. . My sister has advanced dementia
but she is still treated as one of the family, being included in many activities on her own terms . She has also spent some time in the garden enjoying the fresh air. I cannot speak highly enough about the care my sister is receiving . It's lovely to see her smiling again.

Our mum received excellent personalised care over 18 month period , despite the challenges she presented with behaviour relating to Alzheimer's Disease . She was afforded privacy and treated with dignity, including at the end of her life. Nursing care was responsive when her needs changed suddenly
and communication was good, especially when she started to deteriorate. Thank you St Benets.

Our mother moved to St Benet's from another care home locally as we believed that she would benefit from a smaller, more hands on approach to care. She is not one for joining in with activities but is happy to observe at least and we were keen for her not to withdraw and be ignored. St Benet's staff
are all, without question, the most attentive and caring staff we have encountered. The enthusiasm for their roles is clearly delivered from the top, with superb leadership. There is always someone on hand to talk to and get updates from with regards to how our mother is doing and being far away, this is incredibly important to us. In a very sad and complicated situation, we are incredibly grateful for the care and support of the home in making our mother's end of life care as comfortable as it could be. Thank you

Mum came to stay at St Benets following a long period of hospital treatment. It was no longer safe for her to live at home. From the outset Mum was treated with dignity and respect and as one of the 'family'. Mum had vascular dementia and many other chronic health conditions. She was given an 'MOT'
by her new GP including her meds. Health conditions and weight were monitored and I was kept up to date with her care plan.Visiting hairdresser and podiatrist were immediately booked. The home cooked meals from scratch were a great improvement for Mum who was kept well supplied with coffee and home made cake too. Mum was not too keen on joining in, she was encouraged to do so but on her own terms. Going out in the garden, fresh air, the birds were lovely. The inclusion of the private FB group was fantastic as we live far away. I can't speak highly enough of the staff at St Benets, nothing was too much trouble. The care and kindness shown to Mum and to us has been exemplary. Thanks x
