My father went into St Benet's Court for respite care after a short spell in hospital following a fall. I found the staff to be extremely helpful to both residents and relatives/visitors. Resident's meals looked very good in terms of variety and nutrition. It was very important to me that I could bring
my dog in to see my father as he missed her a lot. I would recommend this care home.

My brother and I were generally very pleased with the care our mother received during her four-and-a-half years of residence. The staff were caring, friendly and professional, looking after her until the end of her life, and Mother was very happy, which says it all.
We would recommend this care home.

My mother has been in St Benet’s for just over one year.
She was not recalling coping at home and had a series of minor falls.
Since going to St Benet’s, she is far better both mentally and physically than when living at home.
This is a tribute to the quality of care given to her by all members of
staff.
I am happy to recommend the home to others with elderly parents in need of care and have done so.

Due to mum’s worsening dementia and increasing falls, we (her family) felt she would be much safer living in a care home. She had been with St Benet’s as a temporary resident previously, following a hip replacement, so we knew this care home would suit her needs, and we were so lucky that a room became
available there at the right time for us. Mum has been at St Benet’s for 9 months now and she is very content there. She enjoys the food, has a comfortable room and is very well looked after by the lovely carers. There is a large lounge which is bright and sunny, with a good sized dining room, everywhere smells fresh, it is lovely and clean. All the staff are friendly and welcoming and it is very secure, so it is comforting to know Mum is in very good hands.

As a non-resident but sent from the hospital for a short rehab, what is needed is rehab and convalescent hospitals, not care homes. The staff were wonderful, kind, cheerful and so pleasant and nice.

Mum needs care and has been at St Benet’s Court for just over a year now. I live away and don't get to see her as often as I'd like, but when I do, she always seems happy and well cared for. The family who visit more frequently all seem impressed with what they witness.
Reply from Hayley Holland, Regional Director at St Benet's CourtThank you for your compliments, We are really proud of the team in the home and the compassion they show to the residents and their families. Its lovely to hear that this is the experience received.

My father, 94, was discharged from the hospital to St Benet's Court (care home) at the beginning of December following a place in a care home being sought due to his worsening dementia and continuing falls. St Benet's kindly agreed to take my father as a resident. When my mum and I went to visit my
father for the first time after his move, we had a meeting with and were introduced to other members of staff. Everyone was so caring. They understood that my mum was not capable of caring for my father due to her own mental and physical exhaustion. My father wasn't an easy person to deal with, but his endless care, patience and kindness towards him will never be forgotten. On each of our visits to see my father, everyone we saw was welcoming to us, and nothing was too much trouble. They all stayed in touch with us as to my father's deteriorating health. The staff made sure my father was made comfortable until he passed away on 1 January. Thank you to all at St Benet's.
Reply from Paul Nery, Owner at St Benet's CourtThank you so much for your kind review. We are so glad to have been there for Dad and that we made a difference.

Dad was discharged from the hospital and went straight to St Benets Court, where he is now a long-term resident. The staff are exceptionally friendly and caring, and the home is clean and well cared for. As his condition is one which means his mobility has deteriorated rapidly, they have had to adjust
to his increased needs - this they have done without complaint and always with a smile. The biggest compliment I can pay is that for someone who said he would "never go into a home" - he is happy there.

Mum has been in St Benet's care home since October 2021, and from the moment Mum arrived, the staff have made her feel welcome and looked after her very well. Every time I go and visit Mum, the staff are cheerful, friendly and make me feel welcome in the home.
They have looked after Mum and given
her the support and care that she needs. Any issues that have arisen with Mum and her condition, the home have always rang and kept me up to date with everything that is going on.
This is the first time Mum has had to be in a care home, and I feel comfortable knowing she is in good hands.
Reply from Hayley Holland, Regional Director at St Benet's CourtThank you, it is our pleasure to support your mum. We are happy that she and her family are happy with the service.

I have an excellent room, I was agreeably staggered by it. I’ve never been in such a large room. The only thing that outdoes it is the building itself and the grounds, it’s a beautiful house.
The staff are extremely friendly.
The house is very clean with no odours.
I had a bad experience in another
home so I was nervous about coming here but it has changed my mind completely.

When I am able to visit, or talk to staff over the phone, I have always received courteous and prompt responses to my queries or comments. The care home looks well run and the staff are always cheerful. When there has been a problem, the staff are quick to respond and also to keep us informed. I
am very happy that my mother is being well looked after, and that in these challenging times, they are taking every possible measure to ensure the safety of the residents, so thank you to all at St Benet's.

St Benet’s has provided excellent care, not only for our mother but also for our father before he passed away.
The staff are so kind and considerate which creates a happy place for Mum to be living. They work very hard to care for all her needs whilst respecting her dignity. We could not have found
a better place for Mum to be staying and are so grateful for all that St Benet’s do. Thank you.

When my aunt needed to go into a care home I visited at least five in our area and finally decided on St Benet's. The staff and management were very nice and informative. My aunt's needs are met and all her preferences were taken into consideration. I could not ask for more care and attention. I am
always informed of her situation and I could see she is very well looked after when I visit her. The staff also put up with her short temper and try to pacify her. The manager has also been very helpful in providing letters to the various authorities in order to facilitate her change of address and her continued pension.
The activities provided are very enjoyable and I have witnessed my aunt joining in.
I would highly recommend this care home to anyone.
Thank you and keep up the good work.

I love being here, all the staff are so great to me. The food is excellent, they always have something on offer. They’re so good with my dietary requirements due to not being able to eat certain things. I love my room but I love spending my day downstairs. The staff give me brilliant care and we have
some good laughs along the way.

Mum sadly passed away having spent 3.5 happy years at St Benet's. Their care and love for her was exceptional. She like all their other residents became part of one big family. They met her individual and changing needs throughout her time there always putting what was in mums best interest first. They
also always found time to support us her family. We will be forever grateful to them.

Having my grandmother here, it was the first place we thought of for my mum because the care has always been excellent and it's nice to see that the same male carer is still here and remembered my mum's mum. As her needs have increased, so has the care and nothing is too much trouble.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.925)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.925) out of 10 for St Benet's Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 38 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.925 for St Benet's Court is calculated as follows: ( (411 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 442 Ratings = 4.925
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Benet's Court is based on 38 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 32 registered maximum number of service users is 6.4, which has been reached with 38 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
