Job Description:

We’re looking for a Full-Time Kitchen Assistant (33 hours per week) to join our friendly team at Windward House, a welcoming 42-bed care home nestled in the heart of South Brent, Devon.

At Windward House, we pride ourselves on creating a home-from-home for our residents aged 65 and over. Food plays such an important role in their day, and we’re looking for someone who shares our passion for providing tasty, nutritious meals that truly make a difference.

Our residents have various dietary requirements, so knowledge and experience in cooking for people with special diets is incredibly important.

Pay Rate: £12.60 ph

Kitchen Assistant Duties include:

• Preparing wholesome breakfasts, lunches, teas & suppers
• Keeping the kitchen and work areas sparkling clean
• Helping with stock rotation and food orders
• Supporting special dietary needs with care and attention
• Chatting with residents and making sure they’re enjoying their meals

Experience in as a catering assistant or kitchen work is helpful and a Basic Food Hygiene certificate would be an advantage, but most importantly, we’re looking for someone who’s caring, reliable and enjoys being part of a supportive team.
