As the Clinical Governance Lead, you will take full responsibility for overseeing the effective operation and delivery of clinical and nursing services within the home. You will work closely with the Home Manager and Deputy Manager to ensure that clinical care meets the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.
Your role will be central to maintaining and improving clinical governance practices across the home, ensuring all nursing staff are well-trained, policies and procedures are followed, and residents receive exceptional care. You will also play a key role in infection control management and regulatory compliance.

Provide strong clinical leadership, setting high standards of nursing care and practice.

Work collaboratively with the Home Manager and Deputy Manager to:

Recruit, select, induct, and train all nursing staff.

Ensure regular supervision and appraisals are completed for all nurse staff.

Monitor and maintain safe and effective staffing levels through rota management.

Develop, implement, and review person-centred care plans to promote resident wellbeing.

Oversee and support full compliance with all relevant clinical governance, regulatory, and CQC standards.

Ensure infection control policies are implemented, monitored, and properly recorded.

Monitor clinical risks and incidents, conduct audits, and implement improvement actions where required.

Attend management meetings to report on the status of clinical care, nursing staff performance, and resident outcomes.

Lead the development and delivery of clinical training, ensuring all staff are equipped with the knowledge and skills required to meet regulatory and internal standards.

Work closely with external bodies (e.g., CQC inspectors) to ensure inspection readiness and follow-up actions.

Champion a culture of continuous improvement, openness, and transparency in clinical care.
