Job summary
About the Role
We are looking for a passionate, creative, and motivated
Activities Coordinator to join our team. This is a
key role in creating a vibrant and homely environment for our
residents, ensuring they can enjoy meaningful, engaging, and
stimulating activities that are tailored to their individual needs,
preferences, and life experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organise, and deliver a varied programme of activities and events that support relationship-centred care.
- Motivate, inspire, and engage residents, care staff, and volunteers to participate in activities.
- Champion resident choice, enabling them to continue lifestyle interests and hobbies.
- Develop and produce the home’s newsletter, celebrating activities, events, and achievements.
- Maintain accurate records of activities and resident participation.
- Build positive links with the local community, encouraging involvement and volunteering opportunities.
- Support charity events and promote activities both within the home and externally.
- Ensure all activities and outings are risk assessed, safe, and inclusive.
- Lead by example, role-modelling excellent engagement with residents, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
- Manage resources, ensuring equipment and materials are always available.
- Respond with empathy and care to residents who are distressed or in need of support.
- Work with the care team to review, refresh, and improve activity programmes based on feedback and effectiveness.
- Ensure all health & safety, infection control, regulatory, and company policy requirements are met.
- Lead communication with residents and families about activities, ensuring everyone feels included and informed.
