Job summary

A Senior Carer in a UK care home care staff, manages daily routines, ensures residents' well-being, and develops/reviews care plans. Responsibilities include providing direct personal care, supervising and mentoring the team of carers, communicating with families and healthcare professionals, maintaining health and safety standards, and managing medication and activities. The role requires leadership, strong communication, and organizational skills, often with a Level 3 or higher qualification in health and social care. 

Key Responsibilities

·  Staff Supervision: 

Lead, mentor, and supervise all staff. 

·  Direct Care: 

Provide essential personal and practical care, assist with daily living activities, and administer medication when required. 

·  Communication: 

Act as a liaison between residents, families, and external healthcare professionals (like GPs) to ensure coordinated care. 

·  Quality Assurance: 

Monitor and uphold high standards of care, ensuring all activities comply with the home's policies and relevant legislation. 

·  Leadership: 

Take charge of shifts in the absence of a manager, respond to issues that arise, and promote a safe and supportive environment. 

·  Record Keeping: 

Accurately complete and maintain records of residents' daily activities, observations, and care provided. 

Skills / Qualifications:
