Job summary
Job Summary:
As a Care Assistant in a residential care home, you will provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to elderly residents, including those with dementia or physical disabilities. You will assist with daily living activities, help maintain a safe and comfortable environment, and promote residents' independence, dignity, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide personal care including washing, dressing, toileting, and grooming.

Assist with mobility and transfers using appropriate equipment (e.g., hoists, wheelchairs).

Support residents with meals and hydration, including feeding where necessary.

Administer or assist with medication (if trained and authorised).

Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interaction.

Monitor and report changes in residents' health or behaviour to senior staff.

Maintain accurate care records and documentation.

Ensure care is delivered in line with individual care plans and home policies.

Comply with health and safety regulations, infection control, and safeguarding procedures.

Support residents’ emotional and psychological well-being.

Work collaboratively with colleagues, healthcare professionals, and family members.
Skills / Qualifications:
- Requirements: Essential: Compassionate

- and holidays. Commitment to providing high-quality care. Desirable: Previous experience in a care setting (residential or domiciliary). NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards). Training in moving and handling
- first aid

- or medication administration.
