They go above and beyond always
My mum is more than happy and it's lovely to see her smile again
The activities on offer are appropriate and entertaining
Food is wonderful and plenty of choice
Many thanks for your lovely review, receiving nice feedback makes us happy
We thought we'd have real problems with my aunt adjusting to the food but she loves it there, so much so that it's hard taking her out to lunch now because even places like a steakhouse restaurant aren't good enough for her :)
The team work hard to make adjustments so that my aunt's care is tailored to what's right for her.
The staff are fantastic, they are the secret to Hollybank's success, nothing is too much trouble & they make it feel like home for my aunt & visitors.
We've always been impressed by how much they do for the money they charge, even in these tougher economic times, it's great value
Many thanks for your lovely review, these comments make us all feel valued for all the support we give to our residents, we are all one big family
Found the place very clean and the residents well cared for. My aunt is very happy there plenty of activities to keep her happy and companionship from the other residents..Staff are very friendly and caring .
Many thanks for your kind review. Your feedback is important to us so we can continue to provide an excellent service
I will be forever grateful that we found Hollybank when we needed it. My mum has been there for over 3 years and has received nothing but the best care from day one. It has a small and homely feel while being run very professionally by management and staff. Many of the staff have been there for several years and they treat us as friends. They are genuinely fond of mum. I am confident that she is being well looked after 24/7.
Thankyou so much for your lovely review, this means a lot to us. It is a pleasure to care and support Mum and continue doing so
I have only been here about one month and have never been so happy, thanks to the manager, and also the many ladies (carers), thank you so much for your hard work and love. You would never know what I have been through the past year. Now I am over the moon happy, happy, happy.
Many thanks for your lovely review and welcome to the Hollybank family
Living a long distance from the home I received a pleasant, polite and prompt update via email regarding my Mothers's recent birthday spent at Hollybank after making contact with them. I had emailed Hollybank to check whether my Mother had received a card that I had sent.My ratings are based solely on the feedback that I have received from a family member who visits the home, social media and Hollybank, as well as my Mother' s apparent /current well-being since being a resident at Hollybank.
Many thanks for your review, please do not hesitate to contact the home anytime for an update on Mum
The registered care manager and her team have been amazing and have gone above and beyond what I would have expected.
They have treated mum with the utmost respect , kindness and love and I will be forever grateful.
I am so happy we found Hollybank and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a care home .

She always enjoys her entertainment days and days out with you although she is unable to remember these times your videos are extremely important to us and family and friends to watch her enjoyment and participating on these days .Her care and diet as well as health issues are always adhered to .Many thanks for your continued support we couldn't of managed any longer without you .
Thankyou so much for your lovely review, your feedback is important to us
The care my Mother has received while she has been a resident at Hollybank has been a exceptional. All her day to day needs have been met also entertainment has been laid on. The facilities supplied are more than enough to met her needs. It's large enough to handle the residents needs and small enough to care. The Staff led by the manager all have a caring and loving attitude to their residents and I thank them for this.
Thankyou so much for your lovely review, mum has settled in lovely and a pleasure to support
Mum needed emergency respite for two weeks and we were lucky that Hollybank had a vacant bed at the right time. During her two weeks Mum was well looked after by all the care and management team who made every effort to keep to her home routine as much as possible. They took the time to get to know Mum's needs and adjusted things quickly if needed. The place has a small cosy feel with a lovely garden and all the residents and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Mum enjoyed having her hair done and a dance at the live music. We would not hesitate to recommend Hollybank.
Thankyou so much for your lovely review, mum was a pleasure to support and she is welcome back anytime
The decision was not taken lightly and after visiting numerous other homes in the surrounding area, Hollybank was the natural choice for its homely feel.
She was very hesitant about going in a home and I was very saddened that our inability to manage at home did not leave us with much choice.
We need not have worried, the care and attention from the wonderful staff have made her stay so far as happy and as comfortable as she can be. Their empathy and kindness is amazing and after a few wobbly days and tears, she is settling in. They are always attentive and have activities going on daily. She especially loves Thursday afternoons so she can have a sing-song and a dance.
Thank you to all for making her so welcome.
Many thanks for your lovely review, she is a pleasure to support and loves to complete her little household tasks each day, she is our dancing queen!
Mum was made to feel at home from the start, initial anxiety about moving into a home was soon diminished by the staff around her. She is settled, happy and very much part of the Hollybank community as a daughter it is so nice to know she is safe and cared for 100 per cent.
Thank you for your lovely review, Mum is a pleasure to support and such a social lady.
When my father passed away in May 2024, we were in the difficult position of needing to find residential care for my mum who has Alzheimer's Disease. All at Hollybank were very welcoming and friendly from the outset. Staff have been very patient with the many questions we have as this is new to us. Because we are fortunate to be local to Hollybank, it is a lovely place to just pop in for an hour and sit in the lovely gardens. Not only is Mum settling in well, she is looking really well as a result of the level of care she is experiencing. We were really pleased with the accommodation and Mum's room has recently been modernised and is a really good size. All the staff at Hollybank have been working hard to get Mum involved in a range of different activities including music, singing, arts and crafts. Thanks to everybody who has made mum feel so welcome.
Many thanks for your lovely review, mum has settled in great and particularly enjoyed the art class. Looking at future bookings for this for her.
Laundry is done on a daily basis, with repairs made if needed and returned to residents' rooms.
There are good range of meals on offer with residents choosing from a couple of options each day, they are also offered drinks and snacks throughout the day.
There are regular visits from entertainers, this is a great time to interact with residents from the other buildings. There are also trips to local garden centres, bowling alleys, restaurants etc. Everyone looks forward to one of the staff's visits and enjoys having their hair styled and their nails manicured amongst other things, she also organises themed days and bingo games etc.
Communication is excellent, we feel fully informed on all aspects relating to my mother-in-law's care.
Many thanks for your lovely review, we like to keep all of our residents happy with regular entertainment and a happy living environment.
My husband stayed at the care home for three months of rehabilitation following a long spell in hospital. The home is set around a lovely garden which is well maintained and where my husband sat daily (weather permitting). The residents are housed in three blocks surrounding the garden. The accommodation and food is really good, and the staff first class. He settled extremely well and all his needs were met. There was something going on everyday and the residents are encouraged to join in. I heard some lovely singers and had a laugh joining in other activities including games and non-alcoholic drinks before lunch in the garden. Visitors are made very welcome, my grandson will miss the fuss made of him on his weekly visits. I would have no hesitation in recommending the home to friends and family. On his departure today my husband said to me 'They looked after me well and I'll miss them' what more can you ask for.
Many thanks for your lovely review, he was a pleasure to support.
My Mum was treated with love, kindness, respect, and dignity right to the very end.
I want to thank every single member of management and staff for all their kindness, support and hugs throughout these last few days, everyone dealt with everything calmly, efficiently, and with great care.
In our opinion, Hollybank is a wonderful well-run Care Home, with wonderful staff.
Thank you all.
Thank you for a lovely review, mum was a character and very well thought of, she is missed by us all.
Everything at the home is quite satisfactory. After viewing other homes in the area I wouldn't fail to recommend the home. The home is split into three houses each with its own individual care priorities. The place is clean and well cared for and doesn't smell unpleasant like some we visited. It offers beautiful surroundings and well cared for gardens which offer a lovely peaceful place to sit in the summer and warm days.
My mother has been a resident at Hollybank Care Home in Shotton for nearly 2 years, she is extremely happy. The management and staff are EXCELLENT. I feel that she is totally safe and well cared for. The carers and management staff are very interactive and if she is unwell they communicate very well and are quick to obtain medical advice when needed. I feel this is an extremely well-run home, with a very homely feel and would highly recommend it.
