Part-time Receptionist (24 hours a week)

Based at our stunning, brand-new care home, Elm Lodge in Hartley Wintney, RG27 8JG. Newly opened, Elm Lodge is a 60-bedded care home providing residential care and offers a fantastic opportunity to set the foundations of an outstanding home.

Salary £12.50 pr hour. 24 hours a week of various shifts to include alternate weekends. You will be the first point of contact within the home, setting the standard for visitors from the moment they arrive.

Main Duties of our Receptionist;

  • Welcome and greet visitors to the home in a professional and courteous way, ensuring all visitors sign in appropriately, that their identity is checked as far as reasonably practical and that they are requested to sanitise their hands on arrival in accordance with the homes’ policies.
  • Answer the telephone and respond to enquiries at Reception, redirecting calls to relevant staff and residents and recording messages accordingly. Send, receive and record emails for the home as required.
  • Complete reception-related administration and provide administrative assistance as required by the General Manager.
  • In addition to reception duties, and on an ad-hoc basis, provide additional administration support for the General Manager and Heads of Departments, such as general filing, word processing and photocopying as required.
  • Manage and process post and deliveries to the home and receive and deliver post to residents.
  • Follow the complaints procedure for any concerns raised, ensuring the Home Manager is informed as soon as possible.
  • Raise the alarm to care staff if a resident is in distress or otherwise needs assistance.
  • Respond to emergency situations as requested.
  • Ensure the Reception area is kept clean, tidy and welcoming at all times, liaising with the Housekeeping team as necessary. For example, tidy cups away and plump up cushions as needed.
  • Ensure that confidentiality is maintained in all interactions with residents, family members and staff at all times, and that information heard or discussed is not shared with any external parties.

Skills and Experience of our Receptionist;

  • Professional telephone manner
  • IT literate
  • Ability to organise and prioritise tasks
  • Friendly, welcoming and compassionate
  • Previous experience working in a Care Home setting (Desirable) 
  • Previous experience of working within a Reception based role
  • High level of written and spoken English
