Job summary
As HR Advisor, you will provide high quality HR support, guidance and
advice to line managers on all ER related matters and train line
managers in the application of HR related policies, procedures and processes.
You will work collaboratively with all members of the People
Team and functions across HC-One to support with the delivery of an
exceptional HR advisory service.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Provide high quality HR advice and guidance to facilitate the early resolution of employee relations (ER) issues, ensuring risks associated with the case are effectively managed.
- Actively manage to closure, ER cases such as conduct, performance management, grievance/whistleblowing, absence management and any other complex cases, ensuring coaching of the line managers /investigating officer/hearing officers from initial contact to completion
- Escalate complex ER case management to the HR Manager who will then provide continuity of support
- Ensure that all advice is provided in a timely manner and within SLA and by the appropriate person
- Identify and report themes and trends to the HR Manager that emerge from case work and queries
- Provide HR Policy and Procedure training to line managers
- Support on strategic HR projects across the employee lifecycle, in a variety of HR disciplines
- Share HR knowledge and learnings within immediate team as well as the wider HR team to ensure consistency of approach and growth opportunities
- Ensure that a high level of customer service is provided at all times with the colleague experience at the forefront of all interactions
- Maintain accurate and timely records and ensure all HR cases and queries are logged appropriately and documentation stored in central folders
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and updating of HR policies and procedures in line with current employment legislation
- Continuous professional development, keeping abreast of forthcoming employment law, emerging case law, legislation changes, changes to regulatory body guidance and best practice, as well as sharing/using experiences to learn and improve
- Ensure that all personal and departmental deadlines are met

Qualified to CIPD Level 3 (or with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a HR role managing a high volume of ER cases and committed to complete CIPD qualification) you have a minimum of 2 years’ experience of managing a high volume of ER cases to an appropriate conclusion, of dealing with matters confidently and sensitively with a sound knowledge of GDPR.
You have a commercially focussed approach, in depth and up to
date knowledge and understanding of employment legislation and HR best
practice and experience of interpreting policies, procedures and
situations in order to identify and apply pragmatic solutions and recommendations.
With excellent verbal and written communication skills and
interpersonal skills, you can effectively influence, persuade and
provide clear, concise and consistent advice and build good working
relationships. You have a high level of attention to detail and
accuracy, ensuring facts are correct, complete and consistent, are IT
literate and can analyse management information to drive decision making.

to do if there are any concerns. All colleagues are required to attend
safeguarding training appropriate to their role and to undertake
additional training in associated areas. You also have the ability to
seek appropriate advice and report concerns, including escalation if
action is not taken.
