Job summary

Golden Horizon Care Home is a warm and compassionate care home situated in the beautiful riverside town of Bewdley. We’re proud to offer personalised, dignified care in a homely and supportive environment.

We’re now looking for someone who is kind, dependable, and genuinely cares about making a difference in people’s lives. You’ll need to be a good listener, communicate clearly, and work well both independently and within a team. A calm, respectful approach is essential, especially when supporting residents with personal care or mobility. If you have an NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care, experience with older adults or dementia care, or training in medication or first aid—that’s a bonus, but not a must. We’re happy to support the right person with training and development.

Key Responsibilities

As a Care Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting our residents to live with dignity, comfort, and joy. Your day-to-day work will include:

  • Assisting residents with personal care such as washing, dressing, toileting, and oral hygiene, always with respect for their preferences
  • Supporting at mealtimes—serving food, assisting with eating where needed, and encouraging good hydration
  • Helping residents move safely around the home and assisting with transfers, like from bed to chair
  • Observing and recording any changes in residents’ physical or emotional wellbeing, and reporting these to senior staff promptly
  • Encouraging involvement in social activities, hobbies, and gentle movement to help residents stay active and engaged
  • Offering companionship and emotional support, helping residents feel listened to, valued, and at ease
  • Administering medication safely and in line with care plans (for those trained to do so)
