About the role
As a Resident Wellbeing Chauffeur, you will be responsible for providing safe and comfortable transportation for residents across our care homes in the Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex. Your duties will include driving the minibus to take residents to social outings, and other planned activities. This role goes beyond driving — it requires patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills to ensure residents feel supported, valued, and safe throughout their journeys.
Reports to: Co-Chief Operations Officer
Key duties and responsibilities- Safely transport residents to and from social outings, appointments, and planned activities across Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex.
- Provide a comfortable, supportive, and reassuring travel experience for all passengers.
- Conduct vehicle safety checks, maintain cleanliness, and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Assist residents with embarking, disembarking, and mobility aids as required.
- Communicate effectively with care home staff to coordinate schedules and ensure residents’ wellbeing during journeys.
Skills and attributes
- Previous experience as a professional driver or chauffeur is preferred.
- Compassionate and patient nature, with the ability to provide excellent customer service to elderly individuals.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with the local area and ability to navigate efficiently using GPS systems.
- Ability to handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.
- Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring residents' safety and comfort.
- Flexibility to work variable hours, including weekends and occasional evenings.
- High level of reliability and punctuality.
Hold a full, clean UK driving licence
