My father moved to S Lodge 3 months ago. As a family we have been made very welcome and feel a part of the S Lodge family. Nothing is too much trouble. All the staff are so welcoming. We very much appreciate the high quality dementia care and how those people with significant dementia are integrated
into community. Thank you for caring for my dad so well.

Wow! What can I say, my dear mum is week 3 into respite care, with a future to stay at Heron Lodge. As soon as you open the door, you get greeted with pure love, and care, you have literally made my mum and myself feel like it's home from home, nothing is to much trouble, all the staff are second to
none, and I feel my mum is safe and cared for. The transistion of leaving your own home over 50 years to comming to Heron Lodge, has not been difficult for both my mum and myself, its absoluutely fantastic, well done to all involved with my mums care.
Reply from Shane Collier, Operation Manager at Heron Lodge Nursing HomeThank you so much for your incredibly kind and heartfelt words. It truly means the world to us to hear that both your mum and yourself feel so welcomed, supported, and at home at Heron Lodge.

We understand how emotional and challenging such a big transition can be, especially after living in one place for so many years, so knowing that the move has been a positive experience brings us immense pride. Your reassurance that your mum feels safe, cared for, and surrounded by love is exactly what we strive for every day.

Your appreciation will be shared with the whole team, who will be absolutely delighted to know the difference their care and dedication has made. Thank you for trusting us with your mum's care - it is a privilege to support you both.

The care at Sharston House has been spectacular. My grandfather received wonderful care from the kind staff and amazing chefs. They even organised fun activities for the residents. I'm eternally grateful for the care home and the exceptional care they provided my grandfather and all the residents until

We always get a very warm welcome from the manager and all the members of staff when we visit Mum at Yaxley House.
Everyone knows Mum by name which is lovely to hear.
The activities team have certainly got Mum engaged with joining in with a wide variety of activities, which we never managed, so well
done.
It always smells clean, and the housekeeping team are constantly ensuring it keeps that way.
The overall ethos is that this IS Mums home and we can visit whenever and bring the dogs in as well. Not forgetting getting a cuppa and biscuits, just like at home.
So an overall lovely place for Mum to live - thank you Yaxley House

We recently went to the Depperhaugh Christmas Fair. It was a truly festive occasion, where residents were fully immersed in the Christmas activities.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with friendly staff who treated residents with care and dignity. They weren't talking 'at' the residents but
'to' them.
I really feel like my mum is at home, and not in a home.
Thank you Depperhaugh for your Christmas spirit and cheer.

My mother moved into Sycamore Heights at the end of October 2025, due to her dementia my sister and I had to make the decision on her behalf and we visited a few care homes: the moment we walked into Sycamore Heights we knew it was the right one for our mother, the atmosphere was welcoming, warm and
with a sense of calmness. The property is well maintained with beautiful decor and furnishings, it's always spotlessly clean, fresh and feels more like a hotel than a care home.
The staff are very kind, compassionate and friendly, they treat the residents with respect and dignity and are always welcoming when I go to visit my mum.
The food is excellent with a varied choice on the menu each day, my mother has been enjoying the meals and has gained weight since being here.
The transition for mum moving here has been smooth and she has settled in extremely well, being in Sycamore Heights has improved her quality of life and it's reassuring to know she is in safe, caring hands.

Mum was originally admitted for respite following a fall and pelvic fracture in which she lost her mobility - it was an incredibly hard decision as we had built an annexe but it was clear she needed around the clock care. As a family, it has given us so much peace of mind to know she is wonderfully
cared for, eats well, and is constantly part of the daily activities keeping her mind active and her spirits up which is so important. She has made lovely friends and the staff are incredible. They go above and beyond and there is a genuine family atmosphere. Mum has done so much since she has been there with a wonderful arrange of activities - singing, creative arts, donkeys visiting and even a garden centre trip! This would never have been achievable at home. Her dementia means she can sometimes forget and get anxious but there is always someone on hand to reassure her and spend time with her. It means now I can spend quality time each day with her. Thank you QC - you have been amazing!

I had an unexpected emergency crisis with my father and needed emergency respite care. The home was quick to respond to assess him and was able to move him in that day. Although my father is relatively self caring he appeared comfortable and settled. Seeing my father laugh and not have that startled,
scared look in his face was priceless and he had warm hot meals.
Reply from Woodbridge Manager, Home Manager at Woodbridge Lodge Care HomeThank you very much for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how stressful an unexpected emergency can be, and we're pleased we were able to respond quickly and support both you and your father at such a difficult time.

It's lovely to hear that your father felt comfortable and settled with us, and that seeing him relaxed and smiling gave you reassurance. Our team always strives to provide a calm, welcoming environment alongside good home-cooked meals.

Thank you again for your kind words - they mean a great deal to our staff and reinforce the importance of the care we provide.

This my third experience at Woodlands Lodge. The first was to visit my wife here, where she resided for over twelve months. My second visit was for myself when i stayed for respite for over three months following an injury, staff and systems - including the food - were excellent. I was able to return
home alone with a nearly new arm movement.
I am current on a third stay is for respite care following an op at Hospital. Again, all staff and systems are top-notch. It says a great deal about a place of employment that many staff have been here since my wife's stay began in 2022. A great home and I would highly recommend Woodlands Lodge.

Very apprehensive about finding and moving mom into a residential care home, however with dementia and Alzheimer's mom was going out at night time and getting confused about how to get home. Took mom for a visit to Kirkley manor along with my brother to look around and assess the facilities and environment.
Was greeted and given a tour of the building and showed the activities time table, bathrooms/ shower rooms dinning rooms and lounges and also the bedrooms. Staff are always friendly and smiling and treat you as family on visits. Mom has already settled in very well and looks so much better after a few weeks. Any issues and I can call and likewise if they need anything from me they can always call me. This home smells really clean and doesn't have the strong disinfectant smell of other homes that I have visited. Really pleased with our choice of care to look after mom.

Reply from Sarah Blackburn, Home Manager at Kirkley Manor Nursing HomeThank you so much for sharing your experience and for trusting Kirkley Manor with your mum's care. We completely understand how difficult and apprehensive this decision can be, especially when supporting a loved one living with dementia and Alzheimer's, and we are truly grateful for your confidence in our team.

We are delighted to hear that you and your brother felt welcomed during your visit and that the tour helped reassure you about the environment, facilities, and activities available. After 6 years of caring for my father-In-law, who has Alzheimer's, my wife made the difficult decision to look for a suitable care home. After much searching, we secured a place for him at Colne House. The care he is receiving is outstanding.
Whilst the amazing staff at Colne House do the 'heavy
lifting': an excellent partnership has been established in which we are actively consulted about my father-in-law's ongoing needs and care. We are listened to and continue to play a role in his care. I cannot fault the care he receives.
The staff must be expertly recruited and trained as there is a consistency of practice and professionalism from everyone at every level.
The events, such as Halloween are extraordinary and give the residents such a boost. The home has now been beautifully decorated for Christmas with everyone, staff and residents, getting excited for the special day. It really is the most wonderful community.
Reply from Victoria Franklin, Home Manager at Colne House Care HomeThank you for the most beautiful review, staff go above and beyond to ensure our residents are cared for like their own family. We ensure each connection is person centred and everyone feels at home. Preparing our home for each season is a passion and enables residents and staff to transition through the year with excitement. Your support is so important to us and we are so pleased you feel you made the right decision in choosing Colne house, we know this is a very difficult step in peoples lives, your father-in-law is a pleasure to care for, he makes us smile everyday.
