King's Court Care Home

from C T (Wife of Resident) published on 29 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

This is a lovely nursing home & I don't think the staff could have done better in meeting the challenges posed by my husband's care. They have taken great care to do everything possible to help him settle in. I gave a slightly lower rating for value for money simply because it's a lot for us to find
- but I can see that the cost of running the place to such a high standard must be considerable.

Review of

Yaxley House

from Julie D (Daughter of Resident) published on 28 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5

I am sorry to say that Yaxley did not comply with my father's wishes and completely disregarded his respect form.
They did not put his best interests first and did not consider the longer term implications of their actions. They allowed him to be taken into hospital even though he did not wish to go,
they failed to contact me.
The manager at the time was rude, unprofessional and unable to answer my questions or reply to my emails. This led to us leaving within a week, we no longer had trust or confidence in the home.
I have since raised a complaint which I have been waiting over two months to get any answers from I am incredibly disappointed and frustrated with the system! The care staff at Yaxley are very kind and compassionate people but there simply are not enough of them and they are not properly supported.
During our time at Yaxley we saw four changes in management each with fresh ideas and promises but sadly none came to fruition. Deeply saddened by the experience.

Reply from Jacqueline Gelder, Operations Mgr at Yaxley House

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are deeply sorry to hear that your father's wishes were not respected during his time at Yaxley and that the standard of communication and care fell short of your expectations. Please accept our sincere apologies for the distress and frustration this has caused you and your family. We understand how important it is for individuals to feel listened to and for families to be kept fully informed, especially in such sensitive circumstances. We are very sorry to hear that you did not feel supported, and that you experienced delays and a lack of clarity around your concerns. We truly appreciate your kind words about our care staff - they work hard to provide compassionate care, and it is regrettable that they were not better supported due to wider issues at the time. We acknowledge the impact that multiple changes in management may have had on your experience, and we take this feedback seriously.

Mum has been a resident for a few years now, the care is excellent and has never changed. The home itself is spotlessly clean and the rooms are the same. The staff are welcoming and amazing the same as the manager and deputy manager. The food is excellent with amazing chefs.
I couldn't think of a
better place for Mum to be looked after and cared for like she was a part of every staff members family.
Thankyou for everything you do x

Downham Grange

from Paul K (Friend of Resident) published on 23 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My friend's grandad is being cared for at Downham Grange care home, and has been there for a few months. We visited him on a Sunday and he really enjoys it there.Must especially the care given to his goddad is topnotch. Carers are so respectful, loving and quick to response. His grandad looked well
cared for and his room was clean and neat. He actually enjoys his routine activities at the Grange and I most say was pleased with the quality of care at the home. I will recommend this care home to anyone in and around for it's a place to be. I wish they continue in this spirit, and if given long life, that will surely be my place in my old age.

Reply from Adeshola Adejuyigbe, Home Manager at Downham Grange

Since my father came to Kings Court, we have been blown away, the home, the staff, the facilities, and the care he has received have completely put us at ease. We know exactly what is going on when, and the staff are all so friendly and welcoming. We are so glad we found Kings Court and couldn't recommend
it enough.

We (our family) had such a lovely early Mother's day afternoon with residents and staff alike. Such a nice happy atmosphere and everyone interacting together. The care and thought put into the planning of this event (as all events) in particular was outstanding. Well done!!

My Mother recently celebrated her 100th Birthday at Sharston House we used the Tea Room which was just perfect for a small family and friends gathering The home provided a delicious afternoon tea for everyone with Chef even baking a fantastic cake and making some of my mothers favourite foods the
room was "dressed" and there was even a happy Birthday video produced with photos of my mother from the past which we had provided. It was a super day and the staff and management were as usual all very friendly and obliging.

Review of

Brackley Care Home

from Tanya B (Power of Attorney of Resident) published on 17 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5

My friend and neighbour for whom I have LPA required respite care at short notice, early October 2024; from first point of contact with Brackley Care Home I found the service received to be of the highest standard; communication was and is clear, concise and professional.
On visiting the home myself
and my friend and neighbour were welcomed warmly and offered refreshments. Information was shared verbally and in written format.
Following on from the initial two week stay, the decision was reached to remain as a permanent resident.
All aspects of care are made aware to myself and I have been invited to be part of changing care discussions and reviews.
The welcome I receive remains, the care that is given is of the highest standard.
Thank You

Was invited to a Mother's day high tea, and wow oh wow! An enormous spread of cakes, cheeses, biscuits, fruit was laid out, along with tables adorned with tea cups, saucers, plates, chocs were placed as personal treats and confetti. There was a tombola, raffle, music and so much laughter to be heard.
A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon, very well put together with so much effort, and it certainly paid off. WELL DONE!!!

Downham Grange

from Marcellin K (Goddaughter of Resident) published on 16 April 2025
Overall Experience  Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5

Had my god mother for respite care at Downham Grange. Visited on two occasions and could attest the care given to my godmother was really good. First of all, at the entrance to the home I received a warm welcome from the receptionist, who guided me to my god mother's room. The environment so clean and
was very delighted with the smiles on the carers face. My god mother told us she loved it there especially with the fact that the residential unit is very quiet and she called it her 5 star safe place. Food served was hot and delicious, she enjoyed breakfast and above all lunch as it's always with other residents where they chat. I will confirm the Grange is a place to be and would recommend anyone looking for a hospitable and loving environment to be with to chose Downham Grange.

Reply from Adeshola Adejuyigbe, Home Manager at Downham Grange

Thank you so much for your heartfelt feedback about how the staff at the home has provided your godmother the holistic and tailored care that we are proud of as a team. Personally, I am glad that your godmother loved it when she came for respite and called it HER 5 STAR SAFE PLACE. Please do extend our love to your godmother and let her know we miss her.

Every time I see my wife she is smiling, and always sees to enjoy all the activities that are
provided. I think she very well looked after and seems happy.
My daughter sees her mum very regularly with our grandchildren and all is well.
Many thanks to you all.

Happy being there. Joined in some activities, enjoyed his food. He got on well with the staff. One fault, only had one shower when there and put on dirty trousers once. He likes to feel smart.
