The difference it has made to my mother in law is incredible and we could not have wished for better care. From someone who was reticent about moving to the home, the transformation has been uplifting. This benefits not only her but us as well knowing she is in such good hands.
As well as an excellent, characterful house with superb grounds, all of the staff are welcoming, helpful and professional.
Long may it continue!

The level of care and attention given is outstanding, and it is clear that the staff truly care about the people they look after. Their patience, warmth, and commitment create a wonderful atmosphere where residents feel safe, valued, and respected.
The home itself is beautifully maintained, both inside and out. The grounds are immaculate, providing a peaceful and attractive environment for residents and visitors alike. It is obvious that a great deal of pride is taken in keeping the surroundings clean, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone.
A heartfelt thank you to all the staff and management (even the pushy one lol)
Thank you for your wonderful review, it is so heart warming to hear such words about the home and staff. Staff work so hard to ensure each and every person is cared for and have the best experience. We hope to see you again very soon.
Mum has only been at Colne house a couple of months but her quality of life has improved enormously.
Due to poor recovery from a broken hip, mum was finding things very difficult and had become very down hearted.
Now, Mum is a lot more mobile, shows more interest in her day to day life and has made friends . Which again, has been aided by the diligence of the staff taking the time to understand mums needs and preferences.
The atmosphere in the home is always lighthearted and pleasant. Every staff member has a smile and a kind word.
I am so pleased that we discovered Colne House. Residents and their families are treated with kindness and respect. Thank you

The overall experience has been very good, cleanliness could be improved within the rooms. A little more help with food as some things require a little more strength than the residents have so if i wasn't there she wouldn't of been able to eat it.

The staff and management go out of their way to help and support my mum who has Alzheimer's. Everybody is always friendly and professional and have always gone the extra mile with her care. The home itself is wonderful and my mum always comments on how happy she is there. The management team and nursing staff have always kept me up to date with how mum is doing but all staff from the kitchen to the cleaners deserve a mention. There is a constant programme of things to do to keep mum motivated provided by an excellent entertainment staff. A truly wonderful place for my mum to be cared for.

My mum has received exceptional care here, and I couldn't be more grateful. The manager and staff are truly amazing - consistently attentive, compassionate, and always willing to go the extra mile to make sure every need is met. There's a genuine warmth in the way they support residents, and it shows in everything they do.
The home offers a wonderful variety of fun, engaging, creative and stimulating activities that keep residents active and connected. They involve the local community beautifully with regular family focused events, creating a sense of belonging that means so much to the residents and their families.
Most importantly, my mum is happy and that gives me enormous peace of mind. I feel completely reassured by the manager and the team's unwavering commitment to the highest standards of personal care and service. It is not a care home, but truly a home that cares, and I can't recommend Colne House highly enough.

My mother-in-law is receiving exceptional care at Colne House, and I am so glad we chose this home for her. Her room - and in fact the whole house - is always inviting and spotlessly clean, which speaks volumes about the pride the team takes in their work.

Such a lovely place, and a true community. As grandchildren, it's such a privilege to be able to visit a home which is always so cheerful and welcoming, and where we can have space to see our grandma and have a cup of tea with her like we would when she was in her own home. The events are amazing and we've made some really special memories with our son (great grandson) especially. Thanks for always going that extra mile!

I feel we are lucky to have a care home such as this in the locality. It is always fresh and clean and the staff welcoming and very friendly. There is a great amount of attention to detail with activities and the place settings for meals. My Mother is very happy and feels cared for and comfortable. I cannot fault the place and feel it deserves better than its current rating.

This is a wonderful care facility that thoughtfully considers the needs of the person in care as well as their nearest and dearest. It is joyful to see how settled my Grandma is and the relationships she has formed with all that work there. There are activities to suit all preferences and even ones where guests are invited to join in. I am very grateful for the care provided.

Choosing a care home can be very daunting but from the moment you step in the door it's like a home from home. I am overjoyed mum is a member of the Colne House family. There are many activities to be enjoyed and it's lovely to hear music and singing when I visit. Communication between the staff and family is fantastic and you can approach the staff and management with any questions. The residents are first and foremost with this care home.

Colne House has been our mother's home for over a year now. In recent months her dementia has worsened and she has lost her mobility entirely. The care staff have shown her is exceptional. She is warm and clean and very comfortable and her medical needs are addressed daily. Watching your parent decline so dramatically has been eased by the dedication to her welfare. We could not have found a more caring and loving facility where people are very much part of the Colne House family. We recommend Colne House highly.

Dementia comes with great challenges but by working in a person centred way they provide the best care as possible. Meet the Team (5)

I had done domiciliary care earlier in my career and enjoyed it but was frustrated at not being able to spend enough time with the people I was caring for. After a decade managing a children’s nursery in Germany she returned to the UK and was attracted to working at Colne House because of the beautiful building and grounds

I joined the Colne House team in March as Deputy Manager, having worked in the care sector for 11 years, both in care home settings and domiciliary care. I have developed a deep understanding of person-centred care and am particularly passionate about medication management; I have a strong background in supporting people living with dementia. After working in domiciliary care, I felt drawn back to a care home setting, wanting to be more involved in residents’ daily lives. Outside work, I enjoy horse riding, hiking and knitting.

I have worked at Colne House for over 10 years as a support worker & cover senior, and have now taken the role of hospitality, I am looking forward to working with Victoria to achieve an outstanding rating. Colne House is a special place to work, the staff are very dedicated to their work and the residents love the family atmosphere. I enjoy socialising with my partner and friends on my days off, and volunteering at Colne for special events or taking residents on trips.

I worked in the motor industry before I joined the team at Colne House as Administrator three years ago and I really enjoy having the connection with all the families, staff and residents. The staff and residents are amazing and I am proud to be part of this beautiful home. Living in the countryside is lovely, outside of work, I enjoy socialising and walking my sausage dogs at local parks. I always enjoy helping organise and volunteering at the events for the home.

I have always worked in events and hospitality before joining the team at Colne House. I am looking forward to spending quality time with all the residents and learning what they enjoy the most. The atmosphere here at Colne House is warm and calm. When I am on shift, I feel like I am spending time with my extended family rather than being at work.
My husband and I have three young children, so being patient and keeping them busy and entertained is one of my biggest qualities. As a family, we enjoy playing sports together, and we often travel to Spain to visit my family, as I am originally from Barcelona.
