Colne House Care Home has a Review Score of 9.9 (9.898) out of 10, based on 60 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Colne House Care Home has 106 reviews.
She always said that she never wanted to go into care and we were very concerned when it became increasingly evident that she could no longer cope at home. It has been a huge relief to know that she is safe and well looked after. She adapted to her new environment surprisingly quickly.
The manager and staff are very caring and supportive. The home is welcoming and we are always offered a drink after the long drive to visit.
Keep up the good work team.
Thank you for your kind review, it is always a pleasure to see you when you visit, mum loves seeing her boys. Staff at Colne pride themselves in providing a homely environment. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
I take comfort in knowing that he is being well looked after in a safe, friendly and happy environment.
The food is all homemade and tastes great and there are many activities for him to get involved in, as well as day trips.
The staff are all amazing and look after us at the same time.
As dad can no longer live at home, this is definitely the next best alternative.
Thank you.
Thank you for your wonderful review. Staff always go above and beyond to ensure our residents are well looked after and the home is clean and tidy.
If I could give 100 stars that still wouldn't be enough. Cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness to myself and my family as well as my aunt. They have gone above and beyond to ensure all her needs and wants were met. The home is always clean, tidy and welcoming, with a lovely homely feel. Staff and management are amazing and we really are so lucky to have their support and care. Cannot fault Colne House, can only give an outstanding recommendation. We really have been overwhelmed with their caring, kind and can do attitude. Thank you all.
Thank you for your wonderful review, the staff always go above and beyond for our residents. We have a fantastic team who love all our residents like their own family.
Family member was admitted here whilst my in-laws were out of the country. She was so well looked after, she really enjoyed her time here and truly misses all the carers who were absolutely amazing. She loved it so much she thought she was spending time in a hotel.
Thank you for your review, staff at Colne House go above and beyond to help all residents. Nan was a great character, we look forward to her coming back.
My nan absolutely loved her stay, they were so kind, fun, and welcoming she felt so comfortable. I cannot thank the staff enough for giving my nan the best time. She felt safe and knew help was always at hand. Every time I visited she was singing and socialising it really was a blessing to see her so happy.
Thank you for your review, staff at Colne love singing and dancing with the residents, Colne really is a special place.
Recently it has been evident that staff are over stretched - my Uncle needed to use the bathroom and there were no members of staff on the floor so I went to the office to request a member of staff.
The facility regarding the lift is totally unacceptable - the majority of the time it is not functioning and on one occasion was out of order for weeks.
Activities and outings have improved.
Wifi connection would be beneficial as my Uncle always asks me to research things on the internet.
We are more than happy to discuss with a member of the Kingsley Healthcare Management Team.
Thank you for your review, we take any concerns about the home very seriously. We exceed the requirements of staff within the home, staff go above and beyond to ensure all residents' needs are met. Unfortunately, we have had some mechanical issues with our lift, however, all residents had access to...
Very caring home. The staff do their utmost to keep the residents happy. They engage with the residents, are sympathetic to their needs, and are always keeping a watchful eye out for any problems they may foresee.
Thank you for your review. Staff at Colne House ensure residents have a fulfilled day. We love all the different characters within the home, and how each and every resident has their own stories to tell. We are very lucky to work in their beautiful home.
Occasionally there do not seem to be enough staff and they seem stretched, but always seem to cope with the ups and downs of a care home for elderly residents, many with dementia, and I commend them for doing so with a positive attitude.
My one request applies to visitors and not residents: I would like to see WiFi access for visitors. I am rarely trying to connect to the internet whilst visiting, however sometimes I am trying to arrange an outing, reserve a table, check the weather or liaise with others to meet on some outing, and I have no way of doing so. A wifi connection would solve that problem.
Thank you for your lovely review, we ensure our staffing is above guidelines at all times ensuring residents have the support they need, there are busier times within the home. Your suggestion for WIFI has been noted and we hope you found it responsive. It is always lovely to see you when you visit and mum loves the outings you both have.
I was so worried about putting dad in a home as he was always so against it, and I never wanted to put him in one either but I have to say he has thrived immensely and has even put weight on which it's excellent.
The girls have really put my mind at rest as I was so anxious over dad going to Colne House and I really didn't need to be.
The house is beautiful and so clean and the grounds are stunning.
The added bonus is that he is now in the village where I also live so I can see him all the time.
I highly recommend Colne House, they are amazing and nothing is to much trouble.
Thank you for your lovely review, we are so pleased your mind is at rest knowing we provide such good care. Dad is a breath of fresh air into the home and is loved by many, his smile really lights up the room. Staff at Colne house go above and beyond to ensure residents have person centred care.
The atmosphere is lovely, friendly, and welcoming. The staff, those I have met so far, are kind, patient, and very caring.
The residents, with their varied problems, seem very well cared for, with attention given to each as appropriate.
Activities are available for those able, but everyone is included according to their needs and interests.
Having been a nurse for over 50 years, I am very impressed with this lovely care home.
Thank you for your review. It is lovely to have a volunteer with such knowledge in the care industry, our residents enjoy your company very much. Thank you for the time you spend with us.
I would highly recommend Colne House.
For their excellent management, and most certainly for their great communication.
They are very attentive, responsible, and caring and my family couldn't have wished for a safer loving place for my grandmother to be.
Thank you so much Colne House.
Thank you for your lovely review, I am so proud of the team at Colne House, their dedication to each other and the residents is above and beyond. Your grandmother has settled lovely and is a great character. We are pleased your family are able to relax knowing she is under our care, we look forward to seeing you when you next return to England.
Colne house is a warm, welcoming, extremely friendly home. We as a family are very impressed with my mother-in-law's care. All the staff are amazing! I am so happy I found Colne house. Thank you to all of you for your hard work.
Thank you for your kind words, we aim to make Colne House a home from home. The staff work hard to make sure they know every new resident before they arrive, by writing person centred care plans with the help of the family, enables us to know not just the general things but the little things that...
Such a lovely place for my mum. She is very happy at Colne House and all the staff are so friendly, kind, and attentive to the residents and you can tell they all take pride in their work. It's always so beautifully presented and kept immaculate by the staff. A great care home, definitely recommended.
Thank you for your lovely review, we have a great team here at Colne who support each other in providing amazing care for all our residents. Your mum is such a glamorous lady and brings smiles to all around her.
My mother has been a resident for almost a decade, from the moment she entered until now, I can honestly say she has been more than simply cared for, she has been loved! I am constantly impressed with the care she receives, from staff old and new, the ethos of Colne is obviously something that is impressed on new staff as they commence. I'm writing this in Colnes Conservatory looking out on the beautiful gardens, sitting next to my (sleeping) mother, relaxing and tranquil for the both of us. I cannot fault the staff, from the senior leadership, the carers through to the cleaners, admin, and facilities staff. An amazing home, full of love.
Thank you for your review, your mum is part of our team, she always makes sure we are doing what we should be doing, and reminds us when we are working too hard to take a break. A truly amazing lady who is cherished by all.
Colne House is in a beautiful setting. The atmosphere of the home is always very friendly and welcoming. All members of the staff team are wonderful with the residents and the families. It was a very difficult decision to move my father into care - but he couldn't be happier or better looked after. The support and care of the staff, have made the challenge much easier.
Thank you for your kind words; the staff team at Colne House are amazing! Nothing is too much for them to make all residents feel at home.
How lucky we were to find Colne House for our mum to reside in. The staff are the most amazing, caring, empathetic and friendly people you could ask for. They cater for everyone's needs accordingly. Nothing is ever too much for them. The activities, celebrations and events they hold, they always go above and beyond and invite residents friends and family members to join in the fun. They treated our mum with absolute dignity and respect and were all there for her with us when she passed away in the home she loved. We have friends for life in these people, we will never forget what they did for our mum. Thank you all of you. Keep being amazing.
Thank you, we miss you all dearly, and can not wait to see you at our upcoming events. Mum was a huge character in the home and will always be remembered.
Over the 3 years I've been visiting, the staff never really change, which makes me think they're happy in their work and don't want to move on, plus they all seem local. Thanks for all your help with my friend.
Such an amazing friend you are! Not only do you visit your dear friend but you have become a friend of the entire home, we love when you visit, bringing such joy and happiness with you. Thank you for being you.
The management and staff.. including domestics and chefs all know and show they care for my mum.
The home is clean and well-decorated, and the gardens are amazing.
The management team are fantastic and welcoming and always understands any requests we have.
Cannot recommend Colne House highly enough for your loved one.
Thank you for your kind words; I am so proud of my team and how they care for our residents and visitors. We really enjoy seeing all our families and appreciate the support we receive.
A wonderful care home with wonderful staff. We consider ourselves lucky that we found somewhere that Dad is so well looked after and we can be sure that he's happy, well cared for and doesn't need to worry. I visit every week and there's a lovely family homely atmosphere, and all of the staff are so friendly and attentive and know Dad's favourite things. It's a beautiful building and gardens with lots going on. I can't rate it highly enough.
Thank you for your wonderful review; we love seeing all our visitors, and we are extremely lucky to have such a beautiful house and surrounding gardens.
I pop in most weeks and am always greeted by friendly, welcoming staff and residents keen to chat and pass the time. It's a joy to come. Obviously, at times residents can be confused or rather distressed but staff are encouraging and reassuring, taking time to ease their concerns and helping them to enjoy alternative thoughts. There are always loads of celebrations and activities going on so there's always something to look forward to and something to remember.
Here at Colne House we are so lucky to have such amazing volunteers, our resident really benefit from your visit. Thank you for your continued support, residents really enjoy your visit.

Meet the Team (5)

I had done domiciliary care earlier in my career and enjoyed it but was frustrated at not being able to spend enough time with the people I was caring for. After a decade managing a children’s nursery in Germany she returned to the UK and was attracted to working at Colne House because of the beautiful building and grounds

I joined the Colne House team in March as Deputy Manager, having worked in the care sector for 11 years, both in care home settings and domiciliary care. I have developed a deep understanding of person-centred care and am particularly passionate about medication management; I have a strong background in supporting people living with dementia. After working in domiciliary care, I felt drawn back to a care home setting, wanting to be more involved in residents’ daily lives. Outside work, I enjoy horse riding, hiking and knitting.

I have worked at Colne House for over 10 years as a support worker & cover senior, and have now taken the role of hospitality, I am looking forward to working with Victoria to achieve an outstanding rating. Colne House is a special place to work, the staff are very dedicated to their work and the residents love the family atmosphere. I enjoy socialising with my partner and friends on my days off, and volunteering at Colne for special events or taking residents on trips.

I worked in the motor industry before I joined the team at Colne House as Administrator three years ago and I really enjoy having the connection with all the families, staff and residents. The staff and residents are amazing and I am proud to be part of this beautiful home. Living in the countryside is lovely, outside of work, I enjoy socialising and walking my sausage dogs at local parks. I always enjoy helping organise and volunteering at the events for the home.

I have always worked in events and hospitality before joining the team at Colne House. I am looking forward to spending quality time with all the residents and learning what they enjoy the most. The atmosphere here at Colne House is warm and calm. When I am on shift, I feel like I am spending time with my extended family rather than being at work.
My husband and I have three young children, so being patient and keeping them busy and entertained is one of my biggest qualities. As a family, we enjoy playing sports together, and we often travel to Spain to visit my family, as I am originally from Barcelona.
