My mother in law has advanced dementia and is bed bound. I have always been impressed with the care and dignity shown to her and all residents. Her skin is beautiful, her nails short and clean, hair brushed and is always in clean clothes. She is never rushed at mealtimes and good hydration is encouraged. It is the little details that make a good care home into an excellent care home. Although she cannot take part, there are always fabulous activities and outings on a regular basis. These are often posted on their social media pages. The Christmas table this year looked wonderful. The staff have always greeted me with a smile and they are friendly and professional. Nothing is too much trouble.
Thank you for your lovely review, the staff at Colne really do go the extra mile to ensure every residents feels valued. It is so important to us that all visitors are greeted with a smile and feel they are well looked after when they are here. We understand how difficult it can be without loved...
Whilst the amazing staff at Colne House do the 'heavy lifting': an excellent partnership has been established in which we are actively consulted about my father-in-law's ongoing needs and care. We are listened to and continue to play a role in his care. I cannot fault the care he receives.
The staff must be expertly recruited and trained as there is a consistency of practice and professionalism from everyone at every level.
The events, such as Halloween are extraordinary and give the residents such a boost. The home has now been beautifully decorated for Christmas with everyone, staff and residents, getting excited for the special day. It really is the most wonderful community.
Thank you for the most beautiful review, staff go above and beyond to ensure our residents are cared for like their own family. We ensure each connection is person centred and everyone feels at home. Preparing our home for each season is a passion and enables residents and staff to transition...
Friendly helpful staff who came.
Thank you for your review, we are pleased you find our staff helpful and friendly. We look forward to welcoming your back soon.
I cannot recommend this home enough. My dad who has Alzheimer's had a two week respite stay here and he thrived, it really helped us as a family to have a reset and what we could do better for him at home. Every member of staff goes above and beyond, their patience and care is unwavering. I cannot express how thankful we are to all who made dads respite so welcoming, loving and caring. A true home from home for the residents. Thank you
Thank you for your lovely review, we miss dad so much! he was a great addition to our home. We would love dad to return to us in the future, please don't hesitate to contact us when you need your next rest.
Colne House provides the most amazing care for my mum. Every single member of the team treats her (and us) like we are family. Since becoming a resident mum seems so much more content. There are lots of activities to keep her stimulated and she now reads again which is wonderful. Communication is excellent and management are always accessible for questions. I am so happy that we found Colne House
Thank you for your lovely review, mum is a huge part of Colne house and always keeps herself busy! Her caring nature shows everyday, helping staff and other resident with what ever needs to be done. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.
I know nothing about care or care homes, but I do know how to spot bad team work or poor communication, etc., and this care home is absolutely fantastic. All the staff are friendly, helpful, informative and knowledgeable, also the home is clean and well equipped. This is down to good management, but more importantly excellent team work by all.
Thank you, we pride ourselves on good team work, this makes all the difference when providing the best care for our residents. Its not just staff who make things run smoothly, family input is vital in recovery, your support has been fantastic. We thank you and your family for the support you give us! We look forward to your next visit.
My mum was taken to Colne House as an emergency, as she was in a mental health crisis. I cannot praise the home enough, the staff are knowledgeable and kind, the management are fantastic, and make my mum feel at home from day one. We have also been supported as a family in our time of need, with regular updates and cups of tea!
Thank you for your kind review, we are so happy we can accommodate mum, your amazing support as a family makes all the difference! We have fantastic support from professionals and work closely with them to ensure we are providing the very best care. Mum has made some lovely friendships in the home, I am sure she will be feeling better very soon.
Colne House are taking brilliant care of my Nan. She feels comfortable and safe. The staff are so attentive, even to visitors, and always make us feel welcome and looked after. You can see their endless patience with all residents, stopping for cuddles or to get people drinks or snacks. A very warm environment for everyone - full of love and care.
Thank you for your lovely review, our residents are all amazing, all staff ensure everyone feels at home, including our wonderful visitors! We look forward to seeing you again soon.
I am very pleased with the care my family members are getting. The staff are attentive to individual needs, staff always make you feel welcome, and nothing is too much trouble. If I ever ended up in a home myself, I would want to be somewhere like Colne House.
Thank you for your lovely review, nothing pleases us more than to see loved ones together. We look forward to seeing you again very soon.
I chose Colne House for my mother as I was once a service provider (music sessions) and of all the homes I went into to deliver this service, not a single home came anywhere close to the high standards of care I have witnessed at Colne House.
Residents, whatever stage of their condition, are loved and cared for as if they were the staff's own family. The warmth of the staff is clearly the culture of Colne House and must be highly prioritised within their training. This warmth is tangible and can be felt as I pass through the building to see my mother. My mother is in last stages of her dementia and bed bound yet I am eternally grateful and assured that she is in the best home she could possibly reside in.
Thank you for your amazing review, staff at Colne really do go above and beyond for our wonderful Colne family. We love coming in every day to ensure all have the care and support they need. They say that if you love your job it shouldn't feel like work. I personally spend my day in my second home....
Mum has dementia and has been at Colne House for 2 years. The staff have been wonderful with her, and I have been impressed by how personalised her care has been, adapting to her changing needs. Lots of care and attention is spent on making the home look lovely - the Christmas decorations are spectacular! Mum has had plenty of opportunities to join in activities including an outing today to the local garden centre coffee shop, which she loves! Colne House feels like a warm, friendly home rather than an institution. We have been very happy with mum's care there.
Thank you for your lovely review, Mum is a valued member of the Colne family, we love how she puts her all into our events and visits from entertainers, she is very thoughtful to her friends and ensures we are all doing what we need to. We look forward to seeing you soon.
Beautiful home, staff really care for all residents and treat residents and relatives like family. Well run home with plenty of activities to keep the residents stimulated. Very clean and welcoming home!
Thank you for your review, we love seeing you when you visit your father in law. We hope to see you very soon.
Excellent staff showing incredible kindness, consideration and dignity.
Excellent cleanliness at every visit.
All in all excellent, by far the very best care home I have ever visited.
Thank you for your wonderful review, we are so happy you are pleased with our home. Staff work really hard to make Colne a homely environment for all who stay and visit. We hope to see you again soon.
My aunt has been at Colne House for over a year and I'm extremely happy with the care she receives and the friendship of the staff towards her. I feel she is in safe and professional hands and is well looked after. The staff keep me fully informed and when I visit it doesn't feel like a care facility but a warm and welcoming home.
Thank you for your lovely review, we love seeing you when you visit, hope to see you again soon.
My mum has been at Colne House for a year now. She has dementia and I have to say it was the best decision we made. The staff are very well led and the care given is outstanding. Staff are very kind and loving and if I ever need to move to a care home this is exactly the type I'd like to live in.
Thank you for your lovely review, mum has settled so well. Thank you for your support we always look forward to seeing you.
Due to the dementia, my mum is not the same person she was, but she is happy, secure, well fed and content, an absolute joy to be with, since moving to Colne House.
Thank you for this wonderful review, mum is such a joy and yes we all love Tush!! Mum is an absolute wonder nothing stops her and we love how she participates in our outings. Staff at Colne really are the best, we look forward to seeing you again very soon.
The staff are amazing and so kind nothing is ever to much.
The home is absolutely spotless we are always made to feel extremely welcome when we visit and not only is it great to have my father in law so close, it's great to see all the other residents to.
Having my father in law so well cared for has taken a huge strain off my wife who cared for her dad for a long time.
She can now visit and just spend time with her dad and she loves all the staff and residents to, also one member of staff in particular makes great cup of coffee.
Thank you for your lovely review, we are so pleased we have taken away the stress and your wife can enjoy her visit. Staff at Colne house go above and beyond to ensure residents and families are happy. We are so pleased you enjoy our coffee, we look forward to seeing you again soon!
I cannot fault the care and attention that he gets every day. The staff really care and it shows through.
I cannot imagine my father being in a better or more caring place than Colne House and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone that is seeking such a facility.
Thank you for your review. We are amazed by dad every day, he has achieved so much. His visit to the beach with his sister was a huge step for him last year, thanks to our new adapted Kingsley mini bus we are able to offer these experiences, that may not have been achievable before. We look forward...
My mum moved here in July 2024, albeit reluctantly, she has been welcomed with open arms. The staff are so kind and obviously love their job as they all been there years. The home is clean, warmly decorated and so many staff on duty at any time. It's like a 5-star hotel. If I had to choose somewhere for me, this would be the place. Highly recommended.
What a lovely review, thank you. Mum is such a character in the home, she makes us smile everyday. Staff go above and beyond to welcome new residents and make them feel part of our family, but the joy mum and all our residents bring to the home makes our jobs even more enjoyable. We look forward to seeing you again soon.
I can't recommend this care home enough. If you are looking for a home in the area for your loved one then look no further. The staff are amazing, so attentive and caring. They treat their residents like they are their own family. The home itself is lovely, set on beautiful grounds. It has a really lovely homely feeling with a really nice welcoming atmosphere. I know that my nan is always very well looked after here. The meals which are offered are great, home is really clean and there are always activities taking place. The staff also take the residents out to various places, which is lovely. I only have positive things to say, it's an all round amazing care home.
Thank you for your wonderful review, the staff at Colne House work so hard. I will ensure they all read this. It's always lovely to see family visiting the home, we look forward to seeing you again very soon. We love our activities and our outings they really are special.

Meet the Team (5)

I had done domiciliary care earlier in my career and enjoyed it but was frustrated at not being able to spend enough time with the people I was caring for. After a decade managing a children’s nursery in Germany she returned to the UK and was attracted to working at Colne House because of the beautiful building and grounds

I joined the Colne House team in March as Deputy Manager, having worked in the care sector for 11 years, both in care home settings and domiciliary care. I have developed a deep understanding of person-centred care and am particularly passionate about medication management; I have a strong background in supporting people living with dementia. After working in domiciliary care, I felt drawn back to a care home setting, wanting to be more involved in residents’ daily lives. Outside work, I enjoy horse riding, hiking and knitting.

I have worked at Colne House for over 10 years as a support worker & cover senior, and have now taken the role of hospitality, I am looking forward to working with Victoria to achieve an outstanding rating. Colne House is a special place to work, the staff are very dedicated to their work and the residents love the family atmosphere. I enjoy socialising with my partner and friends on my days off, and volunteering at Colne for special events or taking residents on trips.

I worked in the motor industry before I joined the team at Colne House as Administrator three years ago and I really enjoy having the connection with all the families, staff and residents. The staff and residents are amazing and I am proud to be part of this beautiful home. Living in the countryside is lovely, outside of work, I enjoy socialising and walking my sausage dogs at local parks. I always enjoy helping organise and volunteering at the events for the home.

I have always worked in events and hospitality before joining the team at Colne House. I am looking forward to spending quality time with all the residents and learning what they enjoy the most. The atmosphere here at Colne House is warm and calm. When I am on shift, I feel like I am spending time with my extended family rather than being at work.
My husband and I have three young children, so being patient and keeping them busy and entertained is one of my biggest qualities. As a family, we enjoy playing sports together, and we often travel to Spain to visit my family, as I am originally from Barcelona.
