The care at Colne House places a special emphasis on Dementia and Mental health care, and also has skills to care for younger people with dementia in an annex adjacent to the main home.

My mother has been a resident of Colne House since January 2024.
She always said that she never wanted to go into care and we were very concerned when it became increasingly evident that she could no longer cope at home. It has been a huge relief to know that she is safe and well looked after. She
adapted to her new environment surprisingly quickly.
The manager and staff are very caring and supportive. The home is welcoming and we are always offered a drink after the long drive to visit.
Keep up the good work team.

Dad has been here for about three years now and I cannot fault the service he is receiving.
I take comfort in knowing that he is being well looked after in a safe, friendly and happy environment.
The food is all homemade and tastes great and there are many activities for him to get involved in, as
well as day trips.
The staff are all amazing and look after us at the same time.
As dad can no longer live at home, this is definitely the next best alternative.

If I could give 100 stars that still wouldn't be enough. Cannot thank the staff enough for their kindness to myself and my family as well as my aunt. Family member was admitted here whilst my in-laws were out of the country. She was so well looked after, she really enjoyed her time here and truly misses all the carers who were absolutely amazing. She loved it so much she thought she was spending time in a hotel.

Colne House is a very pleasant care home and the majority of the staff are helpful and caring, however I did witness an occasion when this did not meet the required expectations and lacked professionalism.
Recently it has been evident that staff are over stretched - my Uncle needed to use the bathroom
and there were no members of staff on the floor so I went to the office to request a member of staff.
The facility regarding the lift is totally unacceptable - the majority of the time it is not functioning and on one occasion was out of order for weeks.
Activities and outings have improved.
Wifi connection would be beneficial as my Uncle always asks me to research things on the internet.
We are more than happy to discuss with a member of the Kingsley Healthcare Management Team.

Thank you for your review, we take any concerns about the home very seriously. We exceed the requirements of staff within the home, staff go above and beyond to ensure all residents' needs are met. Unfortunately, we have had some mechanical issues with our lift, however, all residents had access to equipment so they were not isolated, and staff were accommodating to residents who chose to use it. As a company, we identified this and sourced a new company to maintain our lifts. We've had occasions where the lift has stopped working mainly due to user error, and the new company has fixed this within 24 hours. Staff have continued to ensure residents are safe and have access to every area of the home. All residents have access to our WIFI for their devices, we are always happy to share this with visitors when they ask. I am always available to talk to, even if I am on A/L or training, the staff will always make sure a message reaches me to call back. We hope you are satisfied with the changes made.

Attentive, pleasant and accommodating staff.
Occasionally there do not seem to be enough staff and they seem stretched, but always seem to cope with the ups and downs of a care home for elderly residents, many with dementia, and I commend them for doing so with a positive attitude.
My one request
applies to visitors and not residents: I would like to see WiFi access for visitors. I am rarely trying to connect to the internet whilst visiting, however sometimes I am trying to arrange an outing, reserve a table, check the weather or liaise with others to meet on some outing, and I have no way of doing so. A wifi connection would solve that problem.

Outstanding level of care and facilities. Staff and management team go the extra mile to make sure residents are happy and comfortable. Not an easy job but they all seem to take it in their stride. The activities provided take into consideration individual needs as well as the group as a whole.

My dad has been so happy the last 6 weeks being at Colne House, the girls make such a fuss of him and he loves it.
I was so worried about putting dad in a home as he was always so against it, and I never wanted to put him in one either but I have to say he has thrived immensely and has even put weight
on which it's excellent.
The girls have really put my mind at rest as I was so anxious over dad going to Colne House and I really didn't need to be.
The house is beautiful and so clean and the grounds are stunning.
The added bonus is that he is now in the village where I also live so I can see him all the time.
I highly recommend Colne House, they are amazing and nothing is to much trouble.

I have just started as a volunteer at Colne House.
The atmosphere is lovely, friendly, and welcoming. The staff, those I have met so far, are kind, patient, and very caring.
The residents, with their varied problems, seem very well cared for, with attention given to each as appropriate.
Activities
are available for those able, but everyone is included according to their needs and interests.
Having been a nurse for over 50 years, I am very impressed with this lovely care home.

I wanted to take a moment to thank Colne House for the care and loving support you've provided to my grandmother over the past 2 weeks she has been there. Living out here in Australia I was able to video call my grandmother and I have never seen her look so happy it is very heartwarming to see. She
looks so healthy and it is so good to see her being so social with all the other residents. She is loving every moment in there and that's all thanks to the loving carers.
I would highly recommend Colne House.
For their excellent management, and most certainly for their great communication.
They are very attentive, responsible, and caring and my family couldn't have wished for a safer loving place for my grandmother to be.

My mother has been a resident for almost a decade, from the moment she entered until now, I can honestly say she has been more than simply cared for, she has been loved! I am constantly impressed with the care she receives, from staff old and new, the ethos of Colne is obviously something that is impressed
on new staff as they commence. I'm writing this in Colnes Conservatory looking out on the beautiful gardens, sitting next to my (sleeping) mother, relaxing and tranquil for the both of us. I cannot fault the staff, from the senior leadership, the carers through to the cleaners, admin, and facilities staff. An amazing home, full of love.

Colne House is in a beautiful setting. The atmosphere of the home is always very friendly and welcoming. All members of the staff team are wonderful with the residents and the families. It was a very difficult decision to move my father into care - but he couldn't be happier or better looked after.

How lucky we were to find Colne House for our mum to reside in. The staff are the most amazing, caring, empathetic and friendly people you could ask for. They cater for everyone's needs accordingly. Nothing is ever too much for them. The activities, celebrations and events they hold, they always go
above and beyond and invite residents friends and family members to join in the fun. They treated our mum with absolute dignity and respect and were all there for her with us when she passed away in the home she loved. We have friends for life in these people, we will never forget what they did for our mum. Thank you all of you. Keep being amazing.

I visit my very dear friend about once a week. She's been here approximately 3 years and I must say how so very pleased I am with how all the staff are so very kind to her. When entering Colne House you are always greeted with a smile. So glad my friend is staying here and she always says "You couldn't
have put me anywhere nicer.".
Over the 3 years I've been visiting, the staff never really change, which makes me think they're happy in their work and don't want to move on, plus they all seem local. Thanks for all your help with my friend.

Colne House is a care home that cares.
The management and staff.. including domestics and chefs all know and show they care for my mum.
The home is clean and well-decorated, and the gardens are amazing.
The management team are fantastic and welcoming and always understands any requests we have.

A wonderful care home with wonderful staff. We consider ourselves lucky that we found somewhere that Dad is so well looked after and we can be sure that he's happy, well cared for and doesn't need to worry. I visit every week and there's a lovely family homely atmosphere, and all of the staff are so

I have worked at Colne House for over 10 years as a support worker & cover senior, and have now taken the role of hospitality, I am looking forward to working with Victoria to achieve an outstanding rating. Colne House is a special place to work, the staff are very dedicated to their work and the residents love the family atmosphere. I enjoy socialising with my partner and friends on my days off, and volunteering at Colne for special events or taking residents on trips.

I worked in the motor industry before I joined the team at Colne House as Administrator three years ago and I really enjoy having the connection with all the families, staff and residents. The staff and residents are amazing and I am proud to be part of this beautiful home. Living in the countryside is lovely, outside of work, I enjoy socialising and walking my sausage dogs at local parks. I always enjoy helping organise and volunteering at the events for the home.

I have always worked in events and hospitality before joining the team at Colne House. I am looking forward to spending quality time with all the residents and learning what they enjoy the most. The atmosphere here at Colne House is warm and calm. When I am on shift, I feel like I am spending time with my extended family rather than being at work.


My husband and I have three young children, so being patient and keeping them busy and entertained is one of my biggest qualities. As a family, we enjoy playing sports together, and we often travel to Spain to visit my family, as I am originally from Barcelona.
