Really wonderful staff and a beautiful home mother is very happy here. She has the most wonderful room with all her home comforts in there to make her feel like she is at home. There are lots of daily activities that keep mum busy.
Thank you for your review, we have spoken about how we can improve and established the food and drink, manager and value for money should have been a 5 star and this was an error. We really appreciate your wonderful feedback, all residents enjoy your visit, you always make time to chat with others. Mum is loved by all members of staff and is a real character within the home.
When visiting they are all welcoming and all residents look very happy and well cared for.

I am a regular visitor to Colne House and the facility is just amazing. The staff are all so helpful, friendly, and caring, always going above and beyond. The atmosphere on all occasions is just so good. They put on a party for my Grandads 103rd birthday - nothing was too much trouble. Can't thank you all enough.
Thank you so much for your kind words, we love providing special touches to our service. This event was lovely to cater to, and to see everyone enjoy themselves was so lovely to see.

Mum moved in on the 18th of September and has adjusted to living in 24-hour care admirably. The carers have got to know Mum's likes and dislikes and treat her with the greatest care. The Halloween party was extremely well organised with a notable amount of hard work put into it and was a great success.
Thank you for your kind words. The staff at Colne House work extremely hard to provide great person-centred care for all our residents. We always work closely with our residents when preparing the menus to ensure there is something that everyone enjoys.
Our friend seemed happy and looked well-dressed. The staff seemed friendly and caring. Our visit was a pleasant experience. We were given coffee, tea and biscuits. We went to see our friend's bedroom which looked cosy and comfortable.
It is always lovely to see our residents and friends visit the home, My staff are very dedicated, and ensure everyone feels welcome. We look forward to seeing you again.
Over the last eight months, I feel my dad has been treated well and cared for kindly. The staff are always patient and friendly.

On arriving at Colne House, one is pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the surroundings are. The gardens are immaculate with a large patio area and lovely garden furniture. The house is spacious and clean and each resident's room is pleasing to the eye. Even the windows sparkle. My brother has been here a year now and I cannot over-emphasise how good the care is. The staff are very well qualified and friendly and cope with difficult problems in a calm and positive manner.
Thank you for your review, we continuously strive to improve Colne House and the surrounding gardens. Staff are extremely dedicated to Colne House and all go above and beyond to ensure your loved ones are cared for in a person-centred way.

Every time we visit I am amazed at the staff, they are so caring and thoughtful. There always seems to be something going on to entertain everyone. The outside area is lovely to sit out and enjoy. If you have to come into a care home, I am sure you would be hard pushed to find anywhere better.
Thank you for your review, we do have an amazing team here at Colne House, they are so very caring. We strive to continue to improve our home and amazing person-centred care.
Mum has been at Colne House for three months. She has settled in so well, is happy, joins in all the activities offered and has made friends. I cannot praise the manager and her team enough. The care and dedication to all residents are excellent. The meals are wonderful and there is always a welcome cup of tea when visiting.
Thank you, Mum has made a lovely addition to our family, she has made some lovely friends which has benefited both Mum and others.
Our mum become a resident of Colne House in June 23 which was a very tough decision to make. The house itself is amazing with beautiful grounds very clean and a happy place. We were invited to attend afternoon tea and events in order to get our mum used to the surroundings before she become a resident. This helped with the transition as Mum was already familiar with the home and felt welcomed from day one. The staff are very friendly and caring and provide the much-needed care and attention our mum needed. She has become involved with the activities which is amazing to see and appears very content indeed. We are so grateful to have found this wonderful home.
We are so pleased you are happy with our home, we pride ourselves on going the extra mile to be person-centred, providing every opportunity for a smooth transition at this difficult time.
We are blessed with an amazing team who support me and my family in every way.
Mum is surrounded by care that goes above and beyond in all areas.
We feel extremely lucky to have chosen the perfect setting for her. Each and every one of them should be recognised for their devotion.
Thank you for this lovely review, the team at Colne House is truly a special one.
We are delighted with the care that Mum is receiving at Colne House as a resident. The manager who manages Colne House has been so warm, welcoming and helpful, she really made Mum’s move so straightforward. The manager and her wonderful team have made Mum feel at home so quickly and we are so pleased with how she has settled in. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff who are always so cheerful and engaging. The home is beautifully kept and so much care is taken with the garden, such a lovely area to sit in. Mum loves the activities, with trips to the garden centre, art sessions and prosecco Friday! The food is very good and Mum’s room is super and with help from the team, it is all to her taste. We feel so grateful to have found such a caring environment for our lovely mum. Thank you to the manager and her team.
What a lovely review, thank you for taking the time to write this. Our team always go above and beyond to ensure you and your loved ones feel at home. Colne is an extension of our own homes, and we aim to make it as comfortable as possible for new residents to ensure a smooth transition. Mum has...
Colne House is a good home. We visited several in the area before selecting Colne House. The environment is very pleasant, the building is characterful, bright and airy and has lovely grounds. The staff and management are truly amazing and seem to genuinely care about all residents. My only criticism is that for most of the year so far the lift has been broken and this despite best efforts from the staff has impacted the residents. A 20% price rise during this time was very poorly timed and commented on by many.
Thank you for your response, Dad is a valued member of Colne House. Our staff work above and beyond to ensure all at Colne House are well cared for. Thank you for your patients and support during our challenging times.
The impression of entering Colne House is of a well-managed, maintained and comfortable care home. The effort is made to care for residents and welcome visitors to the home. The decor and furnishings are of a very high standard and cannot be faulted, the decorations at Christmas were very professionally arranged. Residents are very happy with the surroundings and accommodated food provided.
Thank you for your kind words, staff at Colne House show such care in everything they do, nothing is too much. Staff have stood together through challenging times to ensure our residents and home are well cared for. Thank you for your continued support, we are lucky to have such amazing families.
Thank you for all your help during a difficult time.
We are very proud of the care we provide at Colne House, and welcome all into our family. Thank you for your amazing support over the years, you will forever be in our hearts.

Meet the Team (5)

I had done domiciliary care earlier in my career and enjoyed it but was frustrated at not being able to spend enough time with the people I was caring for. After a decade managing a children’s nursery in Germany she returned to the UK and was attracted to working at Colne House because of the beautiful building and grounds

I joined the Colne House team in March as Deputy Manager, having worked in the care sector for 11 years, both in care home settings and domiciliary care. I have developed a deep understanding of person-centred care and am particularly passionate about medication management; I have a strong background in supporting people living with dementia. After working in domiciliary care, I felt drawn back to a care home setting, wanting to be more involved in residents’ daily lives. Outside work, I enjoy horse riding, hiking and knitting.

I have worked at Colne House for over 10 years as a support worker & cover senior, and have now taken the role of hospitality, I am looking forward to working with Victoria to achieve an outstanding rating. Colne House is a special place to work, the staff are very dedicated to their work and the residents love the family atmosphere. I enjoy socialising with my partner and friends on my days off, and volunteering at Colne for special events or taking residents on trips.

I worked in the motor industry before I joined the team at Colne House as Administrator three years ago and I really enjoy having the connection with all the families, staff and residents. The staff and residents are amazing and I am proud to be part of this beautiful home. Living in the countryside is lovely, outside of work, I enjoy socialising and walking my sausage dogs at local parks. I always enjoy helping organise and volunteering at the events for the home.

I have always worked in events and hospitality before joining the team at Colne House. I am looking forward to spending quality time with all the residents and learning what they enjoy the most. The atmosphere here at Colne House is warm and calm. When I am on shift, I feel like I am spending time with my extended family rather than being at work.
My husband and I have three young children, so being patient and keeping them busy and entertained is one of my biggest qualities. As a family, we enjoy playing sports together, and we often travel to Spain to visit my family, as I am originally from Barcelona.
