Colne House Care Home is situated in the village of Earls Colne, and the Georgian building is set within spacious landscaped gardens with views of Colne Valley.

The care at Colne House places a special emphasis on Dementia and Mental health care, and also has skills to care for younger people with dementia in an annex adjacent to the main home.

The home cares for up to 38 people, and promotes the need for the resident to feel safe in the homely environment. Dad has settled so well into Colne House. It is such a relief to know he is being looked after in such a caring way. The staff are amazing and so friendly and helpful.

Very caring and well looked after, always made to feel welcome. Nothing is enough, always treated with care and compassion, more like a home than a care home. I am not concerned at all at my wife's care and knowing she is safe and well looked after. The staff are excellent, with fantastic meals and

This is a very good care home. There is no regimentality. Residents are not made to get up, washed and dressed ready for day staff coming on shift. My resident has sometimes not gone to bed til late and has been allowed to lay-in in the morning. The staff are all very caring and helpful. They also arrange
a lot of activities. The food is very good and lots of choice.

The house is friendly and all staff are happy to the residents. Staff are very supportive and helpful. I can't fault them. Room His room is good and clean and his view to the outside is very good. Rooms are warm and comfortable as is the house. Food is good. The staff are good and willing to tell you
about any issue. An overall excellent facility in both care and support. Would recommend this home to anyone.

I cannot fault the care house. Always clean, friendly. Staff amazing - home cooked food. Care for dad is 100% He is happy and content. I am at ease having my dad here where he is loved and cared for. I do not look as dad being in care, it is extended family. Staff are amazing and all deserve recognition

The home meets our requirements. The staff are very caring and helpful. Rooms are always kept clean and tidy. The staff/management are always willing to talk things over.


Compared to other homes we have viewed this is one of the best that we have seen and I am more than happy how my sister-in-law

My mother has been a resident of Colne House for eighteen months. She settled very quickly and beautifully, it stands in lovely gardens and is a very calm and friendly place. I have always found the staff to be very caring, approachable and professional. Highly recommended.

My Mum has been a resident for nearly two years now. Throughout this staff have always treated my Mum with the dignity and respect she deserves whilst also providing the much needed are and support that she needs. I visited an elderly friend in Colne House.
I found the staff very warm and friendly, the home was clean.
I was offered refreshment and made to feel welcome.

A well organised home in a spacious manor house. All staff are trained in dementia care and show this in their dealings with residents. The house and gardens are idyllic with facilities for higher dependency residents discreetly available. The attitude of staff in their dealings with residents is exemplary.
There is a happy atmosphere in the public rooms and this is largely due to the staff who are most encouraging to residents. Visitors are welcomed and the staff are open with them. The temperature is suited to the less mobile residents so do not wear thick jumpers or winter coats indoors here. The front drive is being refurbished imminently.

After working in domiciliary care, I felt drawn back to a care home setting, wanting to be more involved in residents’ daily lives. Outside work, I enjoy horse riding, hiking and knitting.

My husband and I have three young children, so being patient and keeping them busy and entertained is one of my biggest qualities. As a family, we enjoy playing sports together, and we often travel to Spain to visit my family, as I am originally from Barcelona.
