Colne House Care Home

We feel extremely lucky to have chosen the perfect setting for her. Each and every one of them should be recognised for their devotion.

We are delighted with the care that Mum is receiving at Colne House as a resident. The manager who manages Colne House has been so warm, welcoming and helpful, she really made Mum’s move so straightforward. The manager and her wonderful team have made Mum feel at home so quickly and we are so pleased with how she has settled in. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff who are always so cheerful and engaging. The home is beautifully kept and so much care is taken with the garden, such a lovely area to sit in. Mum loves the activities, with trips to the garden centre, art sessions and prosecco Friday! The food is very good and Mum’s room is super and with help from the team, it is all to her taste. We feel so grateful to have found such a caring environment for our lovely mum. Thank you to the manager and her team.

Colne House is a good home. We visited several in the area before selecting Colne House. The environment is very pleasant, the building is characterful, bright and airy and has lovely grounds. The staff and management are truly amazing and seem to genuinely care about all residents. My only criticism is that for most of the year so far the lift has been broken and this despite best efforts from the staff has impacted the residents. A 20% price rise during this time was very poorly timed and commented on by many.

The impression of entering Colne House is of a well-managed, maintained and comfortable care home. The effort is made to care for residents and welcome visitors to the home. The decor and furnishings are of a very high standard and cannot be faulted, the decorations at Christmas were very professionally arranged. Residents are very happy with the surroundings and accommodated food provided.

My mother entered the care home recently and so far I cannot fault the care she has received. The staff are very caring, helpful and patient. They are always available to answer any questions we have. My mother has settled in very quickly. She is always clean and enjoys taking part in various activities on offer. She has a lovely room with great views. We as a family are very pleased with her care. Mum is not keen on the food.

Whenever I see my grandfather he always appears well looked after and comfortable. Staff are caring and considerate and this is demonstrated consistently during my visits. I currently live abroad and am grateful my visits are easy to acquire and appear no issue or burden for the staff or home.

My dad is very well looked after. Staff are extremely caring and know the residents very well, dealing with them as individuals and with affection and respect. Their physical health is taken seriously and any concerns are acted on swiftly. We are treated very well as relatives and made to feel welcome and included.

So far the service has been excellent and my mother has settled in well. We are very happy so far with Colne House.

Both my parents have been cared for by the amazing staff at Colne House. Sadly my father passed away in 2019 but my mother is still living here and as a family, we could not wish for her to be anywhere better. It really does feel like home. The staff have worked extremely hard through this difficult time and I hope they get the recognition they deserve.

This is a very good care home. There is no regimentality. Residents are not made to get up, washed and dressed ready for day staff coming on shift. My resident has sometimes not gone to bed til late and has been allowed to lay-in in the morning. The staff are all very caring and helpful. They also arrange a lot of activities. The food is very good and lots of choice.
