My 88-year-old dad has been in Sharston House Nursing Home in Knutsford since October 2024, having been admitted with dementia and Parkinson's symptoms. He has been happy and comfortable there throughout his residency, and the staff have always taken very good care of him. I live in the U.S., so it
is hard to monitor his health, but they always keep me up to date on any developments and tell me how he is feeling. Everyone is kind, caring, skilled, and efficient. Bindu, the manager, always calls or emails me if I have any concerns, and I never feel out of the loop, even being so far away. I get weekly updates on resident activities; there are always fun things happening like bingo, bowling, chair yoga, art classes, or music hours. Even if my dad is not well enough to do those things, I like that he has the option. They also have special events for the holidays, dog days, and pampering days. I am incredibly satisfied with the level of care at Sharston House and am comforted to know that

My wife has received excellent care since she arrived at Sharston House over a year ago, her personal care, nutrition and well being are constantly monitored, as are her room and surroundings. The nurses and staff are always courteous and friendly, and the management keeps me updated on any issues.
I am very happy with the level of care being received by my wife.

Excellent Care at Sharston House Nursing Home.
Our mother was resident at Sharston House for over a year. Despite having advanced Parkinson's disease with difficult to manage symptoms and a complicated medication regime, the staff at Sharston House were positive in their approach, and their compassion
and understanding of what our mother was going through surpassed our best expectations. During the time leading up to and during palliative care they were understanding of our need for feedback and welcomed our frequent family visits. Nothing seemed too much despite their busy schedules. Mum really felt at home and loved during her stay and that is tantamount to the personal care she received. We as daughters had the assurance that not just her health needs were being met, but that she was being looked after with genuine kindness, consideration and affection. Thank you to Bindhu and all her care team. I have no hesitation to recommend you to others looking for care for a loved on

My Mum spent 15 months living at Sharston House. Words cannot express how grateful I am for the care, love and compassion she received.
Every staff member took time to get to know her - her likes, her little routines, and the things that made her smile. Even as her Parkinson's progressed and her
needs became increasingly complex, they adapted, constantly striving to increase the regularity of her Consultant visits and ensuring the local G.P. visited her regularly.
During Mum's final days, the tenderness and dignity they gave her meant the world to us. They made sure she was never in pain and not left alone unless a family member was visiting.
The standards of Nursing are exemplary - which ensured Mum could remain at Sharston as per her wishes to her last days (rather than moving to a hospice or hospital).
She was surrounded by calm and kindness.
I am so heartbroken to lose my gorgeous Mum, but I will forever be grateful that she spent her last year in such loving hands

Yesterday, all the staff at Sharston House excelled, yet again! As a celebration of Diwali, residents and visitors were entertained by joyous music and dance by the staff. They were dressed in beautiful traditional finery and created an aura of cheer and delight. We were then treated to a delicious
buffet of savoury and sweet cuisine made by the staff themselves. The lounge was decorated in a riot of colour plus tea lights to enhance the occasion. A truly uplifting celebration. Many thanks to the staff for all your hard work.

Sharston House is situated in a quiet residential area in Knutsford with good parking facilities directly outside the house.

Delicious food is served daily with the menu displayed in the lobby.

Good security is in place with entry and exit protocols being practised. On entering you are welcomed

by a very friendly team who are approachable and kind. It feels like a home from home with a lovely atmosphere.

The care, attention and consideration to each resident is lovely to see. My mother has greatly benefitted from this individual personal and nursing care which is particularly reflected in the lengths taken by the team to get to know her personally.

The team encourage a communal spirit and my mother is now engaging with the other residents and the many activities. On sunny days full use is made of the attractive outside courtyard area which the residents clearly enjoy.

I highly recommend Sharston House and their truly exceptional team.

"International womans day" and "mothers day" what a delight it was to commemorate both the above occasions at Shawston House. The staff worked hard to ensure that visitors and residents enjoyed both afternoons. The chef and kitchen staff provided a great variety of food to enchant the eye and palate!
We also had the pleasure of chatting to our local MP on womans day as she joined in with the fun! Many thanks to all involved.

My dad has been residing in Sharston House for the last 5 months. During this time, his care has been exceptional. Whilst it's hard not having him live at home with my mum anymore, after 60 years of marriage,e it gives us great comfort to know he is safe and well cared for.
All the staff treat both
my dad and my family with the utmost care and respect. He enjoys the varied and engaging activities and just loves the fantastic food! Grateful thanks from you all.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.722)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.722) out of 10 for Sharston House Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 44 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 43 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.722 for Sharston House Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (391 Excellents x 5) + (118 Goods x 4) + (12 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 522 Ratings = 4.722
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sharston House Nursing Home is based on 43 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 48 registered maximum number of service users is 9.6, which has been reached with 43 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
