My relative initially struggled with the thought of not being at home, but he soon made good relationships with the staff. Some of whom he likes so much, he'd be happy if they never went home! The nursing care on his previous skin wounds has been exemplary and other existing medical complaints have dramatically improved under the watchful eye of the team. He is not a joiner of groups but has very much enjoyed the weekly visit of the Pets as Therapy dogs in his room and the menu can be tailored for individual tastes.
I have been impressed with the responses when things haven't gone so well. Any issue has been listened to, addressed and resolved with sensitivity by the manager - I couldn't ask for more.
Dear Helen, thanks for taking the time to complete the review for Sharston House. I will share with all my staff they will be happy to receive positive feedback. Kind Regards.

Sharston House has never wavered during the past year in its high standard of care and empathy with residents and their relatives. Always resourcing ways to maintain morale and interest in various aspects of their lives. I have found that there is a deep vein of effection through Sharston under the careful management and the staff, even after the strain put on them with the pandemic.
Kind regards.

Apart from having to wait up to 15-mins for the doorbell to be answered when arriving to visit my wife, I found all the staff efficient and helpful - some were particularly welcoming.

My mother-in-law became a resident in December 2020. Obviously, due to covid 19, we were unable to visit the home prior to her arrival. However, on the occasions when we've needed to contact the home, the staff have been very friendly, professional and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and all questions asked are fully answered. They are very informative, and weekly emails keep us updated with any news, changes etc. A face to face visit was allowed on Christmas day for my husband to visit his Mum, which was very well organised and went well. Regular Zoom calls happen for all the family to get involved, which is greatly appreciated.
It's a pleasure to look after her.
Kind regards.
My mum had a fall and was in the hospital for a few weeks until she was transferred here. I can't thank the staff enough how much how well they look after my mum. They work beyond their expectations and work very hard, plus I know how busy they are. They take good pride and well-being in my mum....
The home is lovely, beautiful and well presented.
We are here to help anytime.
Kind regards.
Well, I was very well looked after. Staff were very kind in a caring way. Food was lovely, tasty and filling. I spent a very restful time. Your washing was done and brought back fresh on hangers, out in your wardrobe the same day. Thank you to everyone.

We need not...
We need not have.
From a period of 24-hours before her arrival to date, my sister and I have been kept fully informed of her progress.
Due to the medication, she has been on, there have been good days and bad, but there has always been someone available to speak to and give us full updates. Phone and FaceTime calls are regularly facilitated, and more recently, face to face visits by appointment.
I had thought here to mention of a couple of members of staff by name who are always prepared to go the extra mile, but that would be unfair as there are so many dedicated staff at the home.
Thank you all, we are so grateful.

Every single member of staff with whom we have had contact in the 18-months that my mother has vee a resident has always been helpful, courteous, kind and supportive. Any changes in her condition are dealt with straight away and advised directly to myself or my father. Despite the incredibly difficult times, the home has faced over the past six months, every effort has been made to minimise the upset and unrest the lockdown period must have has on residents.

Several weeks ago we lost a dear member of our family, my Father, and our daughters' Granddad. Dad was 92 and in poor health, he had struggled on valiantly for a number of years. The time came when we had to think of him going into care, it was arranged for Dad to go to Sharston House by the nurses at MacMillan. Many years ago Mum had suffered a stroke and had been admitted to Sharston house nursing home in Knutsford so we knew from our experience then, that the care that Dad would receive would be excellent. We were 100% correct, the care was commendable; the staff were so kind and compassionate. We were kept up to date with all that was happening. When they came to give him medication it was done with care and dignity. Nothing was rushed it was all done in a calm and respectful manner. Several weeks have gone by since Dad's passing, I wanted to make sure that the review I gave was heartfelt and not on the spur of the moment. My views today are the same now as those when Dad passed.
Hope you and your family are staying safe. Thank you so much for taking the time to complete a review. I will share feedback to all of our team they will be thrilled with the positive feedback and appreciation.
kind regards

As soon as my husband was admitted to Sharston House, he was treated with dignity and kindness. The staff assessed his needs and he was allocated a room on the ground floor to ensure his safety. He enjoyed the activities organised for the clients and these seemed to be a very varied range to cater for the needs of all the clients. When his condition worsened, he was given a room opposite the nurses room. He asked for his door to be constantly open and he was fed appropriately. His end of life care was excellent and I and my family are so grateful he was so well treated.
Thank you very much for this positive feedback I will make sure it is passed on to staff.
The staff always treat patients with dignity.

I qualified as a mental health nurse in 2007. I spent 7 years working in the NHS for Greater Manchester Mental Health Trust before moving into the care home sector. I have worked in a wide variety of residential, nursing and nursing dementia homes as a clinical lead, unit manager, and deputy manager, and I was a home manager for the last 5 years before deciding to step back into the deputy role. I love being around the residents and getting to know all about them and their families. I thrive in challenging situations and like that no day is ever the same. I am a very positive and supportive person and like to empower my team to be the best they can. I am mum to 3 grown-up sons, and to de-stress, I love a good crime series or horror film to watch or maybe a good Stephen King book to read.
