Sharston House Nursing Home, which is situated in a peaceful residential area close to Knutsford Town Centre, has recently had an impressive refurbishment. The home combines the warm, friendly feel of a family home with the elegance of an impressive Victorian residence.

The home offers nursing care for older people, in a luxury homely setting. It support residents needing either long term or short term care, including respite care. The home also specialises in providing end of life care and supporting people with Parkinson's Disease.

Set in beautiful grounds it has a large, pleasant patio area, with plenty of outdoor seating areas for residents to sit, relax and enjoy the fresh air, particularly during the summer months.

The home is spacious with a large lounge, quiet conservatory area and a music room as well as a café area where residents can spend time with family and friends.

Mealtimes are an important part of the day and chefs prepare delicious home cooked food to tempt even the most discerning appetite. Residents are encouraged to enjoy their meal in the dining room, taking their time, while socialising and making new friends.

The bedrooms are spacious and Residents are encouraged to personalised their rooms to make them as homely as possible, which helps them settle in quicker.

It is the quality and caring nature of each staff member, no matter what their task, that single out Sharston from the rest.
I would not entrust my wife to anybody else at this point time - 21st July 2018 BUT today there was an avoidable incident!

Having stayed in Sharston 2 weeks for rehabilitation, I was treated extremely well indeed. The service was excellent and all my medication attended to professionally. Concern was shown when the staff thought I might have an infection so the doctor was called to make sure my health didn't deteriorate.
All was well. All the staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I thank you for our care.

Each time my wife and I visit my mum, the staff at Sharston house are very welcoming and friendly. They are always very caring to Mum and understand her needs, likes and dislikes.


Today they put on a lovely birthday party for Mum and family, had her dressed in her birthday outfit with her hair done;

she looked lovely. They laid on special activities for her birthday party with games to keep my mother's 4-year-old great-grandson occupied which was a nice touch. The catering for the party was excellent.

Huge improvements here at Sharston since the new manager took over. The events/ activities coordinator. The team are excellent here, providing a lovely range of varied activities 7 days a week, not just aimed at those residents in the lounge, but also those in their rooms/bed as my mother often is now.
The staff laid on a lovely birthday party here today for my mum and all our family. Really excellent.

My nanna always seems to be well cared for and happy at Sharston House each time I visit. The home has a nice feel to it and the staff are always very caring and helpful. Her room is always kept clean and tidy.
We had a family party there yesterday for nanna's birthday which was well organised and
the staff couldn't do enough for us. The chef had made a superb birthday cake for the party.

The nursing home was recommended to me, as my husband needed full-time nursing care.
On arrival, I was taken by the pleasant staff to the resident's meeting, organised by the staff. I listened to the work the staff do and their aim of high standards.
The two weeks of my husband's stay, my daughter
and I visited nearly twice every day, we have noted the dedication and hard work put in by the staff. They have created a homely, friendly and caring atmosphere, approachable and willing.

Sharston House is a lovely, friendly care home. Like home from home with great carers and plenty of activities for the residents. They are treated with dignity and all are nicely dressed and the rooms clean and tidy and clothes clean. I get any information about event and meetings sent to me. It's the

Sharston House is pleasant, caring home. It is always clean and nicely furnished. Where equipment is necessary for the residents' safety and care it is provided. The staff right from the manager are always available to discuss your relative/resident's needs.

Since the middle of last year it's become very evident there had been some very good changes to Sharston House. You are to be commended for this and are worthy of your 'Good', which you achieved this year. I would not hesitate to recommend Sharston to anyone.

All the staff were friendly, caring people. The day room, in fact, the whole areas visited were clean and to a high standard.


When my brother was able to digest, his food was very good, in fact some days when I had not eaten I wished it was my meal.


Always asked if I wanted tea and on several

occasions, I was brought tea and biscuits.


Lovely people. Lovely rooms.

Mum's care is generally good and the staff are conscientious and helpful. We are sometimes concerned that she isn't put on the commode regularly enough.
Mum has also had a full 2 weeks ago, whilst being transferred from the commode; there was no serious damage but it took almost a week for her to recover.

We have been delighted with the level of care and attention afforded to our Father during his stay. The staff are brilliant, from Senior Staff Nurses, Nurses, Health Care, cleaning, maintenance etc., etc. All were friendly, helpful and supportive, and importantly very caring.

Our mother spent the last 16 months of her life at Sharston House. She was cared for with warmth, compassion and dignity. Her carers were always kind, considerate and brought some sunshine and joy to mum each day. We shall always be grateful these lovely people made the last year of mums life as good
as it could be.

Looked after my mum very well and came home feeling a lot better. Staff were excellent and couldn't do enough fo you. As her daughter, I found that staff made sure I was OK too which was lovely.

Went to visit my godmother today who is at this home on respite care following a fractured pelvis. She has been in the home for 11 days so far. In this time, she has not had a shower or a bath! She was promised twice that she could have one, but the carer never returned to her. The lady in the next
room to her had the same problem. I was genuinely shocked and requested to a carer that this be addressed. Her room was so small that the arm chair was placed in front of the wardrobe so that she is unable to open it. She had no bedside light so had to turn off the room light by the door and then forage about in the dark for the bed for the first few days before she was given a light.
When I suggested a different layout to the room, the carer told me that the maintenance man was on sick leave so it couldn't be done. The one positive thing she had to say was that the food was very good. Thank heavens for small mercies.

Despite a somewhat dated building, the quality of care provided by the staff has been excellent. All the staff have responded quickly and been polite to requests for information or elements of care. A warm and friendly place I would recommend.

I have much enjoyed my stay at the home. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The staff are homely, professional, efficient, kind, good humoured and attentive when necessary. The medical treatment is excellent as are the office staff.

I completed my general nursing and midwifery in 1995 in India. Started my nursing career and worked in super speciality hospitals in medical and surgical wards till 2004.


After moving to the UK, I worked as a staff nurse at Macclesfield General Hospital for 6 years and in different healthcare settings as a nurse.


I joined Kingsley Healthcare in 2019 and held roles as Clinical Lead, Deputy Manager and now Home Manager as of 2022.


I am compassionate, dedicated, caring, and supportive to the residents, family and staff and a good team player.

Kate

Kate Yeung

Job Title: Administrator Joined: 2025

Kate has worked as an Administrator for over 10 years and has a wealth of experience in the role.


Kate has previously worked in Administrator roles in Hong Kong and, although she has never worked in the care sector before she is loving the challenge of such a busy positive.


She likes working with all the friendly team at Sharston House and enjoys meeting and chatting with residents and their relatives.

Beyond my corporate background, I am deeply passionate about person-centred care, ensuring that every resident feels valued, heard, and engaged. Whether organising stimulating social events, coordinating wellness activities, or arranging personalized experiences, my goal is to bring joy and fulfilment to residents' daily lives. My approach combines creativity, empathy, and meticulous attention to detail, creating a warm and inclusive environment where everyone feels at home.


I am also committed to intergenerational and community initiatives, having previously supported children's education through creative learning projects. Louise Thompson

Job Title: Head of Care

Louise has worked at Sharston House for over 15 years, since she left school.
Initially Louise worked on a part time basis at the home as a Catering Assistant, while she was still at school, as she wanted to go to college and work in the Travel Industry however, she loved working at the home so much that when she left school she decide working in care was her calling and she took on the role as a Carer worker at the home.


During her time at Sharston House Louise has been keen to learn, develop and progress in her role. She has undertaken a number of courses including, her NVQ Level 3 in Care, CHAPS and has also completed a Diploma in Health and Social Care.


Passionate about delivering quality care, she has gained a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience during her career and was delighted to become Head of Care at the home.


In her spare time she loves spending time with her 2 children, which usually involves taking them to their various activities. She also loves going on holiday and exploring new places.

Fatima

Fatima Mir

Job Title: Head of Care

Fatima has worked at Sharston House for over 8 years, initially she started as a Support Worker.


Throughout her time at Sharston House she has been eager to learn, develop and progress in her role and successfully gained her NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Care as well as completing her CHAPS training which has helped her progress to the role of Head of Care at the home.


Fatima has gained a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience during her career and is passionate about delivering person-centred care to residents.

Douglas

Douglas Hemlin

Job Title: Head Chef Joined: 2017

Douglas has been a chef at Sharston House for the past four years.


He completed his chef apprenticeship with the Hilton Group and worked at several of their hotels across the globe. He was also the executive chef at the Sea World resort in Australia. Douglas enjoys chatting with the residents and takes pride in providing them with five-star quality meals.
