I have worked in healthcare since the age of 16, working in care homes in Bournemouth. I continued to progress and trained as a nurse in London, specialising in the operating theatres. I have now been in social care for the last 10 years as a registered manager and area support. I am passionate about providing high-quality care to the residents. I am looking forward to building a team to take Weymouth Manor forward.
I have worked at Queen Charlotte Care home for 9 years in a variety of roles. Having worked in social care since 2002, I have a wealth of knowledge that I share with the care team. Caring for residents who have dementia is a passion of mine and something I feel is truly worthwhile. Outside work, I love walking my dog in the evenings
My name is James, and I have thoroughly enjoyed working in nursing homes for the past 10 years, starting off as a healthcare support worker and now a registered nurse and clinical lead here at Highcliffe Nursing Home. My main aims are to ensure the good health and well-being, both physical and psychological, for the residents here with our nursing home community, through the best evidence-based and person-centred interventions and holistic practices. It gives me the best feeling that I have succeeded in making someone smile, or a lasting impression on a residents' day, to allow me the clarity that I am doing well within my role.
Alongside my career, I enjoy socialising, going to the cinema, good food and long walks. I also enjoy travelling and sightseeing. My proudest achievement so far in my life is gaining a degree in Adult Nursing in the Class of 2023 at Bournemouth University.
My entry into the care sector was in 2008 when I joined Highcliffe Nursing Home as administrator. I have since progressed to deputy manager, home manager and operations manager, becoming regional operations manager last year. I love the fact that the staff at our Dorset homes are all team players and support each other. It's important to me that Kingsley is a family business and the family ethos is present in everything we do.
Outside of work, I enjoy gardening and walking my dogs.
