Oaklands Care Home is a grade II listed building with the new addition of a further 25 rooms taking us to a 53 bed care home providing care and support to residential, respite and residential dementia individuals within a safe, homely and worthwhile environment. They take time to understand the individual's own personality and the story of their personal history to focus on both their physical and mental well-being.

The home welcomes you at any time to visit and look around but please call first to make an appointment so they can ensure the manager is available.

I have nothing but praise for Oaklands, they have looked after my mother impeccably over the last few months. The care she has been given has been 100%. She is settled and happy now. I always feel welcomed when I visit and can sleep securely now knowing she is in good hands.

My mum had been bed bound for 7 years before coming to Oaklands. Within a week the care staff had her dressed and sitting in a comfy chair in the lounge watching TV and drinking tea with other residents, I was totally amazed. She has since been around the beautiful gardens in a wheelchair and had a
bath, two firsts for years and years. God bless the staff, Mum obviously was neglected but we didn't realise. I can't say thank you enough.

I visited Oaklands on a daily basis for a few hours after work to help my friend settle into her new home, following a hospital admission of several months. I was always welcomed by staff by name and I noticed the care and attention paid to residents by everyone I met. All staff, whether clinical or
support e.g.: catering, cleaning were warm and friendly. I sensed that they really did want Oaklands to be home for residents. I was impressed by the range of activities offered to residents tailored to their interests and ability to engage. I have peace of mind that my friend is being well cared for. Thank you.

Oaklands has a very friendly atmosphere, they always greet you by name. Everywhere is always clean and smells nice There's always someone to talk to to put your mind at ease. I feel Mum is being well cared for. Thank you!

This home is a very special place. The house has a 'Country Retreat' feel to it and the grounds are beautiful. My mother has now been a resident for 3 months and from day one I knew we had made the right choice, primarily because the staff are simply fantastic. They have patience, understanding and
love at their core and always have a smile for residents and visitors alike. I cannot recommend this home highly enough.

My father was taken to Oaklands after a two month stay in hospital. The transformation in him after twenty four hours was nothing short of amazing. He started smiling and talking, became more like his old, cheery self and has continued to improve every day.
My father has a condition which can only
worsen over time, but I believe the care he receives from the staff at Oaklands will make this final stage of his life the very best it can be.
I cannot speak highly enough of the very dedicated staff. They go above and beyond for the residents and are responsible for the positive and calm atmosphere there. Many small touches are in place which make such a difference and shows they genuinely care.
My father recently celebrated his birthday at Oaklands, which was marked by an exceptional afternoon tea part complete with intricately decorated cakes, a large birthday cake with his name iced upon it, and candles - all produced on site.
I am extremely relieved to have found, not just a good care home for my father, but an outstanding one. I wholeheartedly recommend Oaklands Care Home for anyone looking for residential care for their loved ones.

I needed a week's respite at short notice for mum with Alzheimer's. Staff were very friendly offering lots of coffee/biscuits. However they didn't take notes as I was explaining mum's care needs. The manager had a piece of paper but I didn't see her write anything. When I got home I had an email asking
for Mum's D.o.B; the LPAs & Respect Form (which I had with me when I visited but wasn't asked for them). I had to pay up front with a debit card with no warning. Thankfully I was going home after dropping mum off so transferred money to cover the payment. During the week, staff did let us phone the office to talk to mum as she kept forgetting to charge her phone. However, when I picked her up she was red raw between her legs and genitalia. She had a UTI and there were 16 (unused) of the 20 pairs of disposable pants I had sent, still in her drawer. 9 weeks later my surgery is still trying to remove the care home as her permanent address and she's still sore!

We are surprised and disappointed by this review as Alison was so complimentary when leaving Oaklands with her mother and hugged both the deputy manager and senior on duty. In the two months since, the family has never contacted the home to raise any complaints or concerns. Moreover, there is no record of her mother having a urinary tract infection (UTI) while she was with us. Our records show she was offered and received personal care daily. We would like to offer the family the opportunity to talk over their experience with us.
Please let us know whether that would be something you would consider.

I spent 2 weeks of respite care recently at Oaklands. All of the staff were cheerful and caring. I was looked after so well, and as far as I could see so were all residents, who appeared settled and happy. Regular activities were organised to suit the residents.
It was bright, clean, and well-maintained.
The gardens are pretty, lovely to walk and sit in when the weather allowed. The conservatory was bright and cheerful overlooking the garden, other seating areas also available.
Food was good with regular drinks and snacks on offer.
I would highly recommend Oaklands Residential Care.

An excellent care home, clean and tidy. The staff and management are great and really care. The rooms are very nice, along with the lounges. The food is of a very good standard. I would highly recommend Oaklands care home to anyone looking for residential care.

My mother had multiple problems in the last six months of her life, including vascular dementia and mobility problems, which meant her husband was unable to give her the care she needed, and the rest of the family live too far away to give continuing help. I was very relieved and grateful to find Oaklands
and cannot fault their care for her. It was close enough to her home for her husband to visit daily, together with their beloved dog, which was very important. Very caring staff who my mother loved, even though her condition meant her emotions were erratic a lot of the time. Beautiful building, room and grounds, and very good food. Appeared to be very kept very clean and tidy on the occasions I managed to visit. It gave us peace of mind that she was well cared for at a very difficult time of our lives. I know her husband was very happy with her care too, and he is not the easiest man to please! Thank you so much!
