After a tour of Sycamore Heights we decided it was the the right place for Mum to spend a week of respite.
However, when we arrived, nobody was there to greet us, or even open the front door, which we waited outside of for at least 5mins until I manage get the attention of somebody.
I can't fault the cleanliness, the facilities and the lovely staff, but when it came to her meals she informed me that every meal she had, arrived cold. I realise care is taken with dementia residents so they don't burn themselves with hot food, but it is not exceptable that all residents have to eat their meals cold!
During Mum's stay certain items of food had run out and on one occasion she had an omelette as her main big meal of the day, which isn't classed as adequate in my opinion or Mum's.
The crazy idea of bringing jugs of water into the residents rooms during the middle of the night (which sometimes wakes them up) I also find, strange?

There seems to be a lack of organisation in certain aspects.

Sycamore Heights definitely puts the "care" in care home easy to deal with firstly over the phone and subsequently at our walk around and assessment. All the staff we came in contact with acted in a friendly and professional manner. Dad's room was what you would expect in a country hotel. He went into respite from hospital which wasn't ideal however he came out totally rejuvenated, able to walk with his sticks confidently and full of who he'd meet and what he'd done. I can't thank the team enough for the care they showed

Overall Experience

From the moment I stepped through the door to meet the staff and assess it's suitability the air of care and professionalism was evident. My aunt stayed on a respite basis but long term may be more permanent and I would have no hesitation in placing her at Sycamore Heights.
I cannot praise the facilities or staff (every single one of them) highly enough. They treated my aunt with respect, dignity and TLC from the moment she got there. She thoroughly enjoyed the activities, and formed great relationships with the staff. She was bright, happy and engaged in a way I haven' t seen since her diagnosis, it was like a switch going on. My aunt's safety, comfort, emotional and physical wellbeing was catered for in the highest possible standards.

I would highly recommend this care home but also think it sets the bar in how our loved ones are cared for when we become unable to. Home from home, only better!!

Mum has been staying at Sycamore now for a few weeks and after a few difficult days to start with , seems to be settling in now . The staff have all been great helping my Mum who has mixed dementia .

Several friends have also visited and have all said what a nice place Sycamore is .

My mother moved into Sycamore Heights in the middle of March. Even though she's only lived there a month, she has settled in so quickly. All the staff are very welcoming, approachable and have helped out in every way that we have asked. The food staff have been very accommodating for individually adapting the meals to suit my mother's preferences. My mother is very happy living there and we are delighted with the homely feel of the care home.

Overall Experience

My mother has been to sycamore heights 3 times for respite break the last time was in February 2026.
Although my mother finds the respite breaks difficult, she does enjoy the company and the activities especially the chair yoga. I am vey happy with the care and support she gets the staff are great with her.
The food is varied and excellent quality and will always accommodate the residents.
We often go back to visit and join in the activities in the afternoons and made very welcome when I like to keep mum acquainted.

I have nothing negative to say .

Having previously submitted a revue saying how happy I was with the Care for my husband at Sycamore Heights, I was totally devastated to be told that he would have to move elsewhere. because of his dementia. The support workers were also devastated to lose him. Not so, the management (new manager). I was told it would be in his best interests! I don't accept that. BE CAUTIOUS!

Mum has been a resident since late November, and seems happy, calm, and settled. The staff are lovely and seem to genuinely care about her. I get regular feedback about her health and happiness, and feel good about her new home.

Overall Experience

Sycamore Heights team were very helpful with the care for my dad.
They helped him feel at ease and encouraged him to interact with the activities at the home.
He needed assistance with showering which they did on request by him.
The home is immaculate. Its like a good quality hotel . The rooms are well furnished with a lovely ensuite wetroom .
The staff are all friendly and helpful
Hannah was great at sorting out anything
My dad required and made sure he was well looked after .

I would definitely recommend this home to anyone that needs respite or residential care

Mum has been in this care home for two months and she is so happy.
It's so warm, welcoming and homely and the quality of the care the residents receive is first class. The staff also show great support to families too.

My mother moved into Sycamore Heights at the end of October 2025, due to her dementia my sister and I had to make the decision on her behalf and we visited a few care homes: the moment we walked into Sycamore Heights we knew it was the right one for our mother, the atmosphere was welcoming, warm and with a sense of calmness. The property is well maintained with beautiful decor and furnishings, it's always spotlessly clean, fresh and feels more like a hotel than a care home.
The staff are very kind, compassionate and friendly, they treat the residents with respect and dignity and are always welcoming when I go to visit my mum.
The food is excellent with a varied choice on the menu each day, my mother has been enjoying the meals and has gained weight since being here.

The transition for mum moving here has been smooth and she has settled in extremely well, being in Sycamore Heights has improved her quality of life and it's reassuring to know she is in safe, caring hands.

Dad has been very well looked after during his two weeks stay. I have visited many times and each staff member I have observed has been polite, supportive and lovely with dad. Dad has enjoyed the food and interaction from staff. The home has been a lovely environment to visit, very welcoming and a homely feel. I would not hesitate to recommend the home. The activities I only marked as satisfactory as Dad would have enjoyed more musical activities but that is a personal thing for him. Thank you all.

My mother was admitted to Sycamore Heights for a period of respite care. She had previously held a negative view of care homes, recalling experiences where residents were left sitting in chairs without stimulation. Her experience at Sycamore Heights has been entirely different, and she has now chosen to remain as a full-time resident.
The home is extremely well maintained and always presented to a high standard of cleanliness. Staff are consistently kind, patient, and supportive towards both residents and their families, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Before admission, my mother had experienced significant weight loss due to a reduced appetite. Since staying at Sycamore Heights, she has rediscovered her enjoyment of food and has already begun to gain weight. The menu is varied and appealing, which has had a very positive impact on her health and wellbeing.

Overall, the standard of care has been excellent, and we have complete confidence in the support she is receiving.

Overall Experience

My first impression of Sycamore Heights Care Home was that it is extremely well run and that the atmosphere is very caring. It is attractive from a funishing and decorative point of view and the overriding atmosphere is of both kindness and competence. I was in there for respite care at the end of July 2025. I was well looked after and one of the most important things for me was that I was treated as a person and not just an "old person". Both staff and residents were kind and welcoming and I felt confident that had I needed more nursing care it would have been provided.
