Dad has been very well looked after during his two weeks stay. I have visited many times and each staff member I have observed has been polite, supportive and lovely with dad. Dad has enjoyed the food and interaction from staff. The home has been a lovely environment to visit, very welcoming and a homely
feel. I would not hesitate to recommend the home. The activities I only marked as satisfactory as Dad would have enjoyed more musical activities but that is a personal thing for him. Thank you all.

My mother was admitted to Sycamore Heights for a period of respite care. She had previously held a negative view of care homes, recalling experiences where residents were left sitting in chairs without stimulation. Her experience at Sycamore Heights has been entirely different, and she has now chosen
to remain as a full-time resident.
The home is extremely well maintained and always presented to a high standard of cleanliness. Staff are consistently kind, patient, and supportive towards both residents and their families, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
Before admission, my mother had experienced significant weight loss due to a reduced appetite. Since staying at Sycamore Heights, she has rediscovered her enjoyment of food and has already begun to gain weight. The menu is varied and appealing, which has had a very positive impact on her health and wellbeing.
Overall, the standard of care has been excellent, and we have complete confidence in the support she is receiving.

My first impression of Sycamore Heights Care Home was that it is extremely well run and that the atmosphere is very caring. It is attractive from a funishing and decorative point of view and the overriding atmosphere is of both kindness and competence. I was in there for respite care at the end of July
2025. I was well looked after and one of the most important things for me was that I was treated as a person and not just an "old person". Both staff and residents were kind and welcoming and I felt confident that had I needed more nursing care it would have been provided.

My mother recently received respite care at Sycamore Heights following surgery. Compassion, competence, a 'home from home' wecloming environment and utmost professionalism are just some of the words I would use to describe the excellent care my mother received from all members of the care team, led
by the manager, and all delivered in this modern home.
Oh and did I mention how good the food is! - again it is excellent
So many other care homes, in our experience, do not meet the claims made in their brochures but here is one that truly does!

Dad has been here three months now and the transition has not been easy for him. Sycamore staff have always been exemplary in their treatment of and patience with my father. The setting itself is spotless and a safe and welcoming environment for residents and visitors.

We visited 3 different care homes with my mother and decided Sycamore Heights Care Home was the best. I am generally very happy with our decision. My mother's dementia has worsened considerably since her admission and although I have found the staff to be friendly and caring I know she doesn't agree.
Hopefully this situation will improve. My ony issue is the time it takes staff to answer the front door. My sister once waited 15 minutes and gave up in the end.

My dad came for respite care 3 months ago after a two week stay in hospital. He was very frail, extremely low in himself and has severely ulcerated legs. He also has an open wound on his head. The staff and the nursing care has been beyond our expectations. They have shown endless patience and compassion
with my dad. They have been there at all times helping him to settle. His health has improved immensely. He has now decided to stay for the foreseeable future.

The team at Sycamore a super, they look after Dad really well. They have adjusted to his requirements really well and apart from losing his independence he is very happy there. They call me with updates and keep me informed when he has had a fever or needs a hospital visit. Great place, great team.

As the wife and previous carer for my husband I have been thoroughly supported in this transition. The staff, without exception have been kind, patient, professional, empathetic and supportive. They do all they can to assist my husband with eating, toileting and mobilising. They cope admirably with

Overall impression is that this care home is of the highest quality in every respect. All staff are friendly efficient and professional. The design, decor and furnishings are beautiful giving a calm, warm feel. The food is superb and varied. Staff have shown immense kindness (and patience!) to our aunt/friend.
Staff have also been very supportive to us, her family and friends. This has been much appreciated. Can't comment on activities as home is new and these are yet to start but I have no doubt they will be great. Will have to give it longer to assess value for money. All we can say now is we're very happy with everything.

A wonderful home with a lovely homely feel. As soon as I walked through the door I was welcomed as too was my young child. We really were looked after and made to feel at home during our visit.
My family member is staying longer than originally intended and they have gone above and beyond to ensure
the transition into the home has been as smooth and easy for all as possible.

It's a daunting experience to make the decision that you need extra care. But from the very first meeting, the staff at Sycamore Heights made so welcome, guiding us through the process, and making us feel valued and at ease. They have a personalised care approach and we have seen this with Mum, even
down to meals that she prefers. The staff are so attentive which makes her decision to go there the right one. The home is beautifully styled with purpose built rooms that are comfortable. We are happy with the overall experience at Sycamore Heights so far.

My father stayed for 2 weeks respite and we were all listened to and treated with respect. Any questions were answered in full and explained thoroughly. All the staff were caring, compassionate and professional.
My father was treated as an individual and all his needs were matched above and beyond
our expectations.

Heather Donnell

Job Title: Home Manager

I am the Manager at Sycamore Heights, bringing a wealth of experience and dedication to the role. My career in social care began at the age of 16 when I started working as a healthcare assistant in a residential home in Bedford. After over five years in that position, I transitioned to a rehabilitation unit, furthering my commitment to providing quality care. Driven to expand my skills, I trained as a nurse and gained valuable experience at Bedford Hospital during a 9-month tenure. My journey with Kingsley Healthcare began at The Willows Nursing Home, where I served as Deputy Manager. After gaining additional experience in social care, I was eager to rejoin the Kingsley Healthcare family. Recently, I have been based at Brackley Care Home, another of Kingsley Healthcare’s luxury homes. Now, I am excited to be back at Sycamore Heights, where I previously served as Deputy Manager when it was known as The Willows. I was thrilled when the opportunity arose to return and lead the team here. I am passionate about ensuring our residents receive the highest standard of care and take pride in leading a dedicated team committed to this goal.


Outside of work, I enjoy attending concerts and festivals. I also cherish the time spent socialising within my local community and being an active part of village life.

My work history has been quite varied. After acquiring a degree in fashion and textiles and working in various freelancing fashion-related roles, I moved into Sales and Customer services working for the Bedfordshire Times and Citizens Newspaper team. From this role, I progressed through Telecommunications and the recruitment sectors from Sales Representative to Business Development. I was working as a care assistant for the next 10 years. It was in care that I found a real purpose in life and absolutely love giving back and helping others through their lives. The last two years of my time at my previous job (in care) were spent as an administrator which I enjoyed immensely and that is how I came to join the Kingsley family and look forward to my continued commitment and passion within the care sector as Sycamore Heights administrator.
