It's a daunting experience to make the decision that you need extra care. But from the very first meeting, the staff at Sycamore Heights made so welcome, guiding us through the process, and making us feel valued and at ease. They have a personalised care approach and we have seen this with Mum, even
down to meals that she prefers. The staff are so attentive which makes her decision to go there the right one. The home is beautifully styled with purpose built rooms that are comfortable. We are happy with the overall experience at Sycamore Heights so far.

My father stayed for 2 weeks respite and we were all listened to and treated with respect. Any questions were answered in full and explained thoroughly. All the staff were caring, compassionate and professional.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.823) out of 10 for Sycamore Heights Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.823 for Sycamore Heights Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (228 Excellents x 5) + (38 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 271 Ratings = 4.823
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sycamore Heights Nursing Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 35 registered maximum number of service users is 7, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Home Manager

I am an experienced care home manager and nurse by background with over 15 years of experience in the health and social care sector.

I am dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming, and person-centred environment for every resident. Job Title: Deputy Manager

Originally from India, my healthcare career began in 2004 when I started my nursing education. After graduating, I worked as a staff nurse in India for around 20 months, gaining valuable clinical experience in a fast-paced environment. In 2010, I moved to the UK to pursue my Master’s degree. After completing my studies, I successfully passed the required English language exams and university programme to become a registered nurse in the UK. Over the past 11 years, I have worked exclusively in social care. I began as a healthcare assistant at Northampton General Hospital before becoming a registered nurse. Since then, I have progressed through a variety of roles, including Registered Manager and Support Consultant, supporting a group of 15 care homes. This journey—from healthcare assistant to senior leadership—has given me a deep understanding of frontline care and quality service delivery. Recently, I made the decision to step down from senior roles to take on this role as Deputy Manager, to spend more time with my family and focus on what I enjoy most: improving the quality of care we provide. I am passionate about person-centred care and committed to helping services deliver safe, effective, and compassionate support. In my spare time, I enjoy having fun with my family and 4 children.

Job Title: Community Relations Manager

I have gained invaluable knowledge throughout my 15 years within the Health and Social care sector, starting by providing direct care, to team leading and then into Business Development roles. I enjoy being in a customer-facing role and supporting residents on their journeys into the company. I really like the high standards of the homes and the attention to smaller details that Kingsley Healthcare ensure in delivering quality care.

In my spare time, I enjoy cooking and eating out, watching movies, spending time with family and horse riding.

Job Title: Home Administrator

My work history has been quite varied. After acquiring a degree in fashion and textiles and working in various freelancing fashion-related roles, I moved into Sales and Customer services working for the Bedfordshire Times and Citizens Newspaper team. From this role, I progressed through Telecommunications and the recruitment sectors from Sales Representative to Business Development. I was working as a care assistant for the next 10 years. It was in care that I found a real purpose in life and absolutely love giving back and helping others through their lives. The last two years of my time at my previous job (in care) were spent as an administrator which I enjoyed immensely and that is how I came to join the Kingsley family and look forward to my continued commitment and passion within the care sector as Sycamore Heights administrator.

My hobbies centre around: Hiking, Camping, Wild Swimming, Yoga, Arts & Crafts, Comicon & Anime, Concerts & Music Festivals.
