My first experience of staying in a care home has been great. The staff are so helpful and friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The nursing staff have treated me with loving care and done everything possible to improve my health. Food has been superb, served on time throughout the day. I would
not hesitate to return for respite care at any time in the future.
Reply from Claire Brooks, Registered Manager at King's Court Nursing HomeI am really pleased that the team gave you such a wonderful stay and we will be looking forward to welcoming you back in the future.

I came after surgery, I came to view the place a week before hospital, and was impressed. My daughter suggested a week's respite, I have been so satisfied with the care I've received. The staff are so kind and always attentive to my requests, etc., bringing me tea in the middle of the night.
Reply from Debbie Bush, Registered Manager at King's Court Nursing HomeThank you for the positive feedback and it was a pleasure to help after your surgery.

I have been very happy with the standard of care my husband has received at the Grange. The staff could not be more caring. He is always saying how kind the staff are. He always looks lovely and clean and well cared for when I visit. He loves to join in the activities with the other residents.
Reply from Kelly Bermingham, Home Manager at Downham Grange Nursing HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your positive feedback. We are truly delighted to hear that you're having such a good experience with our home. My dad moved to St Clements on 9 December 2025. He was assessed by the Manager and with the position of the room and rearranging the furniture they seemed confident and were reassuring that they could meet his needs. Having a diagnosis of PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy) - his needs are complex.
He'd been having a difficult time and already moved twice from residential to nursing home in a 6 month period, so we were keen that this would be a permanent home and he could finally settle.
On 19 January 2026 we were given a letter: '28 days notice' to move dad out of St Clements, they decided they were no longer able to meet his needs. We were shocked and had not received information that they were struggling with his care leading up to this notice - this was very poorly dealt with.
The accommodation is pleasant and modern - with a 'boutique' style of accommodation and 'front of house' attitude - but we wanted professional, experienced, personalised care, dad did not receive this.
Reply from St Manager, Home Manager at St Clements Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to share your concerns and the background to your dad's admission to St Clements. I am very sorry to hear how unsettling this has been for you and your family, particularly given the number of moves he experienced beforehand, which we were not aware of. All admissions, even where a full pre-admission assessment has taken place, begin with a settling-in period (usually around six weeks). This allows us to ensure the placement is appropriate and sustainable once needs are observed day to day. While assessments provide a snapshot in time, complex or progressive conditions can present differently in practice. Where we conclude we cannot safely or consistently meet needs, we have a duty to be open and to work with families and professionals to find a more suitable long-term option. We understand how distressing notice would have been and are truly sorry for the impact on you all.

My mother has been in Brooke House for nearly 2 years. There has been a continuence of care staff throughout this period which is reassuring. The staff themselves (I generally visit 10 o'clock, lunch time or late afternoon) are wonderful. I do sometimes feel as if they are occassionally over stretched
at certain periods. There has been a notable change (positive) following Oana's appointment, activities and engagement of families is terrific! The effort made by staff for my mums 100th was amazing.
Reply from Oana Lungan, Home Manager at Brooke House Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share your kind words and observations. We are delighted that you have noticed the improvements in activities and family engagement, and it was truly our pleasure to celebrate your mother's 100th birthday-she is such a special lady! With best wishes, Oana!

My Mum has been a resident in the Downham Grange since June 2025.
My overall experience of the care home is very good and I would certainly recommend to anyone who needs their loved one's needing full time care.
I find all the staff very helpful kind and caring who treat mum with dignity.
The rooms
are very spacious and kept clean and tidy by the cleaning staff.
Kitchen staff prepare lovely meals for the residents day after day to a very high standard.
Nurses and carers are very kind and helpful who treat mum with dignity and care.
The activity team provides excellent activities for the residents to participate in if they wish too .
All staff should feel very proud of themselves such a great team of people.
Reply from Kelly Bermingham, Home Manager at Downham Grange Nursing HomeThank you for your lovely feedback and for taking the time to post a review. Kind regards, Kelly

My wife spent eight weeks in hospital and was still poorly when discharged. But since she has arrived at King's Court Care Home, the care and treatment she has received from the nursing and staff has been excellent. Thanks to the environment and level of service her condition has improved dramatically.
She is happy and content and recommends this care home highly.

I often witness staff going above and beyond to ensure all residents are both safe and happy. If I had to choose a home for my own family member BL would be it.

Mum is approaching her final days having been looked after at Brooke House since April 2022 (nearly four years). The care offered has been excellent and continues to improve. All the staff are extremely friendly and attentive with a good system running and sufficient staff to ensure lots of varied activities
for residents take place and adequate care given. As mum's health has deteriorated, the care has stepped up and palliative arrangements put in place. We, the family, have a great weight lifted from our minds knowing that absolutely everything possible to ease mum's life has been done, and have full confidence in the Brooke House team.
Reply from Oana Lungan, Home Manager at Brooke House Care HomeThank you sincerely for your touching message. Your kind words mean more than we can express to the whole Brooke House team. It has truly been a privilege to care for your mum over the past four years. She was a much-loved member of our Brooke House family. With warmest regards, Oana

From the windows of this well cared for house there are countryside views including extensive well maintained gardens. Residents are cared for by a wonderful team of care workers, domestic and kitchen staff. There is a team of activity organisers providing a range of activities incl. Cookery, arts &
crafts, exercising and one-to-one pampering. The home manager is working hard & has a good rapport with her staff. I am pleased to note that she also makes time to interact with the residents. My wife has been a resident for over three years and is loved as well as cared for. She smiles when the staff attend to her needs. Residents who require medical attention, are seen by district nurses and visits by local doctors.
Seasons of the year are celebrated and residents' birthdays. Occasional religious services are held for those wishing to attend. A quarterly meeting of relatives & residents with the home manager are arranged to discuss and share ideas.
Reply from Oana Lungan, Home Manager at Brooke House Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such thoughtful and kind feedback about our home and team. It truly means a great deal to all of us. Thank you for your trust and continued support over the past three years. It is a privilege to care for your wife, and we are grateful to have you both as part of our home community.
