We had a really bad experience with Kings court care home in Holt.. Our dad spent a month here (before we could find a better place!) in nursing care after a spell in hospital. The staff seemed completely unprepared for his arrival and we had to spend a lot of time there trying to ensure he was safe
and well cared for. One of the biggest problems was there being no staff around to answer the bells if residents needed help. After a particularly bad day trying to find people to care for him I made a complaint directly to the manager who assured me things would be better. Exactly the same thing happened the very next day with me spending nearly half an hour looking for help- even going to different floors! We felt he was basically unsafe and care was not dignified or kind enough. I think the problem was largely how the place is managed and their clear priority of profit over quality care. I strongly advise families to avoid it.
Reply from Claire Brooks, Registered Manager at King's Court Nursing HomeI am sorry to hear that you remain unhappy. We have had several conversations and have tried to respond to the concerns raised, and I am sorry that these have not provided the reassurance you were seeking. We take all feedback seriously and remain committed to providing safe, compassionate, and high-quality care.

Outstanding Five-Star Care
As an NHS professional with high standards, I cannot recommend Eversley Lodge enough. When my aunt urgently needed end-of-life care, they came to our rescue, providing an immediate sense of welcome and calmness.
The leadership and administration were exemplary. Danielle
(Manager) took the time for a meaningful conversation about their specialist care, while Jess (Reception) guided us compassionately through the hospital transfer.
The building is outstanding, but the thoughtful touches truly blew us away. They light a candle as a sign of respect for those passing and we were able to stay at the home and by our aunt's side throughout.
Care planning was seamless, involving the local GP and ensuring our aunt's safety and comfort. Every shift of the fab nursing staff were deeply caring and supported both my aunt and our family. Though she was only there for a few days, she was genuinely at peace. Eversley Lodge is the best nursing home you could ever hope to find
Reply from Danielle Bullent, Home Manager at Eversley Lodge Nursing HomeThis is wonderful review, thank you so much. We are proud of the hard work and dedication the team shows on a daily basis. We are really pleased we were able to facilitate admission in place where person cenetred care is at the forefront and caring for relatives is also important.

I was visiting my friend at Kings Court Nursing Home, for 4 days. I found the staff very kind and helpful both to her and to me as a visitor. It is a difficult job and they mainly do it well. My concern was that my friend's need to go to the toilet was not answered at all promptly. I realise that she
sometimes 'cries wolf' but I think someone should always respond promptly to her buzzer and call her help. There were also few staff with time for a chat with her. Also and very importantly, her liquid intake, which is far too low, is not being monitored and this could be serious.
Reply from Debbie Bush, Registered Manager at King's Court Nursing HomeThank you for visiting and for sharing such thoughtful feedback. We're pleased to hear your kind comments about the team, and we're grateful you raised your concerns so we can continue improving the support we provide.

My husband spent 3 weeks respite care here whilst my family were on holiday. We visited several times before going away, so my husband and staff got to know each other. We were always made to feel very welcome, and the staff were very understanding and helpful with my husband. We were invited to Sunday
lunch as a family the day before we flew. During his stay, they phoned us so we could talk to him. The staff, food and everything were amazing. Have recommended the home to several friends.
Reply from Danielle Bullent, Home Manager at Eversley Lodge Nursing HomeThank you for your wonderful review, we look forward to welcoming back for further Respite stays when needed. I shall pass on your thanks to the staff team .

My experience of the Brooke House Care Homes since my mum "Marion" went in during early 2026 has been fantastic, the team are caring, alert and responsive and the facilities excellent, located close to my own home, its "perfect" for our needs and knowing my mum is being so well looked after is a massive
bonus and quite literally helps me sleep.
Mum is happy, she is eating so very well (the food by the way is excellent) and has even put on a bit of weight (which was needed).
I cannot speak highly enough about the care home or the staff - thank you...!!!
Reply from Oana Lungan, Home Manager at Brooke House Care HomeThank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear that your mum is happy, well cared for, and enjoying her meals. It means a great deal to us to know you feel reassured and supported-thank you for trusting us with her care. King regards, Oana

In February, Dad stayed at Brooke House for 4 weeks respite. Three months down the line and Dad is an extremely happy resident. Whilst he has a beautiful room, he chooses to spend most of his time with the other residents / staff - singing, exercising, visiting attractions, making friends and, most
importantly, eating like a King! What's more, he has earned the nickname 'Smiler' as he always seems so happy. Whilst he will never 'recover' he is making the most of his new life at Brooke House and speaks highly of everyone.
When choosing Brooke House (over 7 others) I was won over by the manager, Oana, who exuded passion for her profession and compassion for her residents. It followed, for me, that if Oana could lead a team with her principles then we were in the right place. Having now met all of the wonderful staff, I see a home that is giving love and respect to its residents. It has exceeded my expectations and I am happy to entrust them with the care of my lovely Dad.
Well done all.
Reply from Oana Lungan, Home Manager at Brooke House Care HomeThank you so much for your wonderful feedback. We are truly grateful to have your dad and your lovely family with us. He brings so much happiness and positivity into our home-his smile really does light up the day for everyone. We're delighted he feels happy and part of our Brooke House family. Kind regards, Oana

I have been impressed with Brooke House from my first visit when I went to view the home. It is so bright and airy and feels more like a hotel than a home. Compared to others I viewed, this was by far the best. My aunt has settled in very quickly and says the staff cannot do enough for her, which I
have witnessed. She says the food is great and there are always activities to join in with. The staff have kept me up to date with how my aunt is getting on and any health/medication issues, no matter how minor, which is reassuring.

I booked myself into King's Court for two weeks' respite care following major abdominal surgery. The nursing care has been superb. I could summon help with my pager at any time. The decor is that of a top-class hotel, and clean and dust-free. Knowing that I was safe here gave my family peace of mind.
The food is excellent, varied and nutritious. In my case, I followed a light diet and special diets are also catered for. There are daily activities arranged for residents, and two well-tended gardens. No meals to prepare and no housework left me more time to recuperate. I would highly recommend King's Court for recuperation.

My mother moved to Brooke House Care Home coming up to two months ago now and since the beginning has had excellent care. She is treated with kindness and the level of care is second to none. There is great attention to detail in this home and despite the fact that she is completely dependent and
can no longer communicate clearly or participate, she is not left out of the day to day activities at the home. The food is delicious and despite me not ever asking, realising her need, her food was prepared in such a way that she could eat it more easily. As I say - great attention to detail and praise to the staff who care for her. She seems very happy and settled.
Reply from Oana Lungan, Home Manager at Brooke House Care HomeThank you for your wonderful feedback - it means a great deal to our team and we're truly delighted to know your mother is happy, well cared for, and included in every aspect of life here at Brooke House.

My mother in law was transferred from Norfolk, Norwich hospital to Buckingham Lodge in February 2026, where she was cared for until she passed away on the 26th April 2026. Nurses and carers supported and treated my mother in law with empathy, dignity and compassion. They delivered above and beyond in
their roles.
Buckingham Lodge has had its own problems in the passed but as a family, relatives couldn't fault it at all. It was nothing for the staff to fulfil our needs with questions and answers. Well done to you all, manager, nurses and carers. Keep up the good work.
A massive thank you!

The home has become much more welcoming and homely than it was, mainly because of the wonderful staff, in particular the activities team. One lady in this dedicated team, who has been a great help to my mother over the past two years goes above and beyond to do all she can for the residents to make
their lives more fulfilled. Hardworking and very conscientious. She is a great asset to the home. All the staff are a pleasure to know.
Reply from Kelly Bermingham, Home Manager at Downham Grange Nursing HomeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. I am very impressed with the home. The furnishing and decorations are light and airy. The garden is easy to access.
The care is offered in a kind, considered way. The management team are very professional but most of all caring very welcoming. The menu is great and this can easily changed. Visitors
are welcome to join. I have enjoyed lunch there.
Activities are varied. You can choose to join in or not.
There was one small issue encountered but once raised was quickly addressed.
If this standard can be maintained I would definitely recommend.

My experience of Eversley has been truly positive, defined by genuine care and a deeply welcoming atmosphere. The support my father receives, at any time day or night, it is consistently professional, respectful and kind, which brings great reassurance to our family. What stands out most is the warmth
of the team. Their kindness extends not only to my father but also me and every visitor who comes to see him, especially the family dog. While the interior of the lodge is bright, airy and tastefully furnished, the true beauty of Eversley lies in the atmosphere the staff create.
