Wow! What can I say, my dear mum is week 3 into respite care, with a future to stay at Heron Lodge. As soon as you open the door, you get greeted with pure love, and care, you have literally made my mum and myself feel like it's home from home, nothing is to much trouble, all the staff are second to
none, and I feel my mum is safe and cared for. The transistion of leaving your own home over 50 years to comming to Heron Lodge, has not been difficult for both my mum and myself, its absoluutely fantastic, well done to all involved with my mums care.
Reply from Shane Collier, Operation Manager at Heron Lodge Nursing HomeThank you so much for your incredibly kind and heartfelt words. It truly means the world to us to hear that both your mum and yourself feel so welcomed, supported, and at home at Heron Lodge.

We understand how emotional and challenging such a big transition can be, especially after living in one place for so many years, so knowing that the move has been a positive experience brings us immense pride. Your reassurance that your mum feels safe, cared for, and surrounded by love is exactly what we strive for every day.

Your appreciation will be shared with the whole team, who will be absolutely delighted to know the difference their care and dedication has made. Thank you for trusting us with your mum's care - it is a privilege to support you both.

Beautiful establishment, very modern. My first time in respite care and more than pleasantly surprised with all dimensions of the care and welfare bestowed on the patients. Like all places in this field they will have to accommodate staff shortages and I saw the versatility of their in staff on a few
occasions. My score is 10/10. 5 gold stars and my heartfelt thanks.

St Clements Nursing Home

Having looked at several other care/nursing homes, we felt that St Clements was a good fit for Dad. We were reassured by the staff and management that Dad would be well looked after, as his day to day care needs were increasing, so that staying at home was no longer an option.
The staff have been very
welcoming and Dad has settled in as well as we could have expected, given that he was not keen on leaving his home, where he has lived for the last 50 years.
Having lived with Dad for a significant amount of the last 12 months, I got to know his requirements and behaviour quite well. Whilst the staff have tried to get to know him, I think his Alzheimers and reticence to engage at times has made this difficult.
I have had to ask for a few things to be done for him, or clarity on a few issues, as there is no direct feedback. I was previously used to getting this on a daily basis from App's that his carers at home were using.
Reply from St Manager, Home Manager at St Clements Nursing HomeThank you for trusting us with your dad's care. We are pleased to see that he is settling in well, and we are continuing to work closely as a team to get to know him better and understand his individual needs and preferences.

He is now engaging very well with both staff and other residents and is becoming an integral member of the home, which has been lovely to see.

We also have a plan in place to ensure you are kept fully up to date with all aspects of your dad's care and enjoyment within the home. We look forward to keeping you more connected and sharing regular updates as he continues to settle and thrive with us.

If you are looking for a family friendly warm home for some restbite or long term care it's a winner. Highly recommend.
We had contact with the home prior to looking for somewhere as they involve the outside community with different activities and my young children previously had fun days visiting
with school, summer picnic events etc. We are so delighted we chose Brooke house. The management team are super friendly, helpful and very accommodating of all needs. The staff are amazing, attentative, considerate, kind and treat with huge respect.
Every time we visit the staff check in with us to see how things are, if anything can be improved upon. It's a huge relief knowing our loved one is safe, well looked after and has a really positive experience in the home. From the activities, doctors appointments, therapy, hairdressers, external specialist services the staff do everything so you know its all in hand.
We can't fault the home atall. Its like an extended family.
Reply from Oana Lungan, Home Manager at Brooke House Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt and thoughtful review. I just wanted to say how well my mum is being cared for. They say that the people make the place and ALL of the staff, be it the carers, the activity coordinators, the kitchen staff to the Admin, cleaning and maintenance staff, are all wonderful and deserve a big thank you. I have seen for myself,
they all treat the residents with such care, respect and dignity, and they all work very hard in order to make it a safe and homely environment for the residents and their families, with fun, humour and entertainment thrown in for good measure. They make everyone feel so welcome and my mum is happy here as she tells me all of the time.

St Clements Nursing Home

The home has the most friendly, approachable staff who are extremely hard working and committed. My father has been there for 8 months and, like most new residents i am sure, he was very unsure when he first arrived, probably scared, but over the weeks months he has become happier there which is very
reassuring for us, his family. Food is super. Cleanliness is amazing; everywhere is spotless, the laundry, which is done daily I think smells gorgeous. The management don't hide is the office they are on 'the floor' and ALWAYS approachable and dealt with any issues immediately or as soon as practical. The recent new care home manager is wonderful. I/we would have no hesitation recommending St Clements. Yes the cost of a good care home is scary but there is no price you can put on knowing your loved one is safe and looked after. Oh medical support is always on hand too.... very reassuring.
Reply from St Manager, Home Manager at St Clements Nursing HomeThank you so much for your thoughtful review. It's also reassuring to know that the medical support and day-to-day care give you confidence and peace of mind. Thank you for recommending us and for trusting us with your father's care

My stepmother moved into St Clements late in September following the death of her husband (my father). She has been supported by the staff and is comfortable in her room and is recovering well. She has dementia and limited mobility following a hip fracture. On my visits I have seen that she is dressed
in clean clothing and is alert and happy. Her only gripe is that the food is rather bland (she used to be a keen cook).
Reply from St Manager, Home Manager at St Clements Nursing HomeThank you for sharing your feedback. We're glad to hear your stepmother is settling in well and feeling comfortable after such a difficult time. It's wonderful to know she appears clean, alert and happy during your visits.

We appreciate your comment about the food and will pass this on to our catering team so we can look at ways to add more flavour and variety for her, maybe she can share some tips.

Thank you again for your kind words and trust in our care.

Since my elderly, frightened mother arrived at St Clements, she has become much more feisty and not scared anymore. The care received has always been exemplary, respectful, from happy staff members who are familiar with her needs, likes and dislikes. Though staffing seems a bit thin at the weekends,
my mother still benefits from excellent care and attention.

Additionally, we were delighted to hear that mum was taken on a minibus day trip to the museum earlier this week. Having been housebound for sometime, it was heartwarming to see her enjoying herself outside of her usual environment.

Well done to all involved, and thank you.

My mother moved to Oaklands Care Home in September 2025 and I have been very impressed with the way in which Oaklands is run. The place is kept very clean and the building is kept in good condition. I am however most impressed by the staff, they are all extremely friendly, attentive to the residents

I was just visiting a very old friend on probably my last contact. My experience was as follows -
Reception helpful, friendly all questions answered.
At the top of the lift a lady guided me to the room with brief explanation of what I would find.
Room clean tidy.
My friend comfortable and at rest.
I
was offered a cup of coffee I felt at home here myself and not even a resident.
Well done.

Since my elderly, frightened mother-in-law arrived at St Clements, she has become much more feisty and not scared anymore. The care received has always been exemplary, respectful, from happy staff members who are familiar with her needs, likes and dislikes. Though staffing seems a bit thin at weekends,
my mum-in-law still benefits from excellent care and attention. Well done to all involved.

My father recently had a 2 week respite stay at Eversley , this was his first stay in care and he wasn't looking forward to it. fast forward 2 weeks and things are now very different. He enjoyed his stay and said he would go back again (a miracle!)
This is entirely due to the wonderful staff and the
lovely environment.
They show such care and real patience listening to my father (whose speech is very poor). He even had a bath whilst there and still says how tasty chef Danny's lasagne was !
Reply from Demi Codling, Clinical deputy manager at Eversley Lodge Nursing HomeThank you for taking the time to leave us a review, as well as for expressing your kind words. It was an absolute pleasure to help care for your Dad, we are looking forward to him returning for further respite care in the future.

From my first visit to Brooke house I felt a confident that all my mums need would be met. The professional approach to the care of both the residents and their families is obvious. On seeing the details of the home mum said it looked like her sort of place. It really feels like a home from home. I
would have no hesitation recommending this gorgeous home to other families in need of both care and support.
The staff always have a genuine smile on their faces which is wonderful for visiting families at what can be s very difficult time.
