My mother has recently transferred from a Care Home in North Yorkshire to the Queen Charlotte (QC) in Weymouth. The support I received from the team at QC during this difficult time was excellent.
Since arriving at QC my mother and all the family have been made most welcome and treated with the utmost
respect. She has settled in extremely well to her new environment and the care and attention she is receiving is beyond reproach.
Reply from Mark Grundonner, Care home manager at Queen Charlotte Nursing HomeThank you very much for the lovely review, we are all very glad your mother has settled in at QC I will share this with all the team

Mum moved into Branksome Heights just a week ago after a 4 month spell in hospital after a fall. Prior to this she had been living in her own home & was naturally very anxious about moving to BH. However, from the moment she went through the door she was greeted with such genuine warmth & friendliness
she felt settled almost immediatly. Her room, the care given to her, the food & all the staff are wonderful. Early days but so far we are all very happy to have found BH.

Queen Charlotte Nursing Home

My partner had the misfortune to develop Altzheimer's a number of years ago and at first care was arranged with a private caring team which did a good caring job of looking after all of her requirements and I cooked her a substantial meal in the evenings, until her dimentia became so advanced that her
sons and myself came to the conclusion that she would need around the clock care. The wheels were set in motion and enquiries were commenced. Eventually, my partner's sons informed me that she had managed to secure a vacancy at Queen Charlotte Care Home, which was quite local for all of us ,so good for visiting my partner. At first I was a little concerned that she wouldn't settle in very well, but in a short while, she seemed very happy, I'm sure this was because the staff having such a friendly manner, I visit my partner a minimum of 3 days per week and have always found the carers pleasant to residents and visitors alike, There is a wide programme of entertainment including live music.

Dad was admitted following a fall at home and a short time in hospital at which point his Vascula Dementia became very evident and 24/7 nursing care was my only option for him to keep him safe. QC more than happy to accommodate Dad and he lived there for three and a quarter years. At first Dad was
very confused, very unsettled and difficult to get settled. The care staff were very supportive to both Dad and myself and as the months passed and his Dementia advanced he became much easier to care for and easier to visit and spend time with. Dad would spend periods relaxing in the communal lounge area, watching television and participating to the best of his ability in the many activities that were delivered by the staff. Dad loved his food but at times had difficulty feeding himself so someone was always on hand to help him enjoy his meal times. Dad was extremely well cared for during his time at QC which assured me that I had nothing to worry about! Dad was safe! Thank you QC.

For everyone it is a really big decision and life change, to help a loved one move into a residential care home. We struggled with the whole process, including how to decide which care home would be able to meet my Dad's quite specific needs and give him the dignity, independence and support he now
needed. After meeting Maria and her team, and looking around Weymouth Manor, we knew that this was the place for Dad. Beautifully decorated but still feels like home, friendly welcoming staff who really take the time to get to know the residents, amazing menus of food, a full programme of activities everyday, hair salon, cinema room, library, cafe are just some of things on offer. When we visit we are made to feel so welcome, and included, and most importantly Dad is safe and has settled really well there - I highly recommend Weymouth Manor.

Dad has been a resident at Weymouth Manor for three months now and it has been wonderful to see him so settled. He has Dementia and Parkinson's and needs considerable support. The team at Weymouth Manor have been brilliant. He still feels as though he has some independence, whilst getting all the support
he needs with day to day tasks.
He regularly tells me how much he enjoys living at Weymouth Manor and we can clearly see how happy he is.
The facilities and rooms are exceptional. The food is fantastic. There are lots of activities for residents and the staff are amazing. I now have complete peace of mind that he is safe, happy and in very good hands. I highly recommend Weymouth Manor.

My mother has been at Branksome Heights since September 2025 and her care has been first class.
All the staff have treated her with compassion and dignity at all times.
The staff have kept us up to date at all times regarding her health and well being and are always at the end of the phone if we have
any questions.
The catering provided for the residents is amazing and my mum loves all the food that has been prepared.
The list of weekly activities provided is second to none, it keeps my mum active and engaged and she loves taking part.
We as a family are so relieved with our choice of care home for my mum as Branksome Heights has delivered in all areas.

Mum was originally admitted for respite following a fall and pelvic fracture in which she lost her mobility - it was an incredibly hard decision as we had built an annexe but it was clear she needed around the clock care. As a family, it has given us so much peace of mind to know she is wonderfully
cared for, eats well, and is constantly part of the daily activities keeping her mind active and her spirits up which is so important. She has made lovely friends and the staff are incredible. They go above and beyond and there is a genuine family atmosphere. Mum has done so much since she has been there with a wonderful arrange of activities - singing, creative arts, donkeys visiting and even a garden centre trip! This would never have been achievable at home. Her dementia means she can sometimes forget and get anxious but there is always someone on hand to reassure her and spend time with her. It means now I can spend quality time each day with her. Thank you QC - you have been amazing!

As usual, I can't speak too strongly about how happy I am about my husband's stay at Highcliffe. The staff are so lovely to him, several of them going over and above their normal duties to do extra things for him. As he's become frailer they have adapted to his extra needs, e.g pureeing his good as
he was prone to choking. Many of the staff including, housekeeping, maintenance and reception pop in to see him and share a laugh and a joke. He loved the staff and I can see they love him. I am very happy about his care and have no worries when I'm not there. It gives me peace of mind. Like I've said lately, even if I won the lottery, I would never dream of moving him. We love Highcliffe.
