We are delighted to hear that you feel your Mum is safe, well cared for and that her individual needs are being met. It is particularly important to us that residents living with dementia are supported with kindness, patience and understanding, especially when they may feel anxious or unsettled.
We are also pleased that you value the communication from our Nursing team and feel comfortable visiting Mum whenever you wish. Maintaining strong relationships with families and keeping them informed is a very important part of the care we provide.
We believe that every resident should be supported to make their own choices about how they spend their time, whether that is enjoying our activities and communal areas or simply having some quiet time in the comfort of their own room.

This is the second nursing home my mother in law has been in, and through other family members, I have seen many others. This home is one of the best. The staff are very welcoming and have a passion and dedication to look after the resident in their care. The level of cleanliness and catering is extremely high, and the engagement with relatives regarding the introduction of new menus. I would have no hesitation in recommending this home to anyone who is considering placing their relative here.

As usual, I can't speak too strongly about how happy I am about my husband's stay at Highcliffe. The staff are so lovely to him, several of them going over and above their normal duties to do extra things for him. As usual, I can't speak too strongly about how happy I am about my husband's stay at Highcliffe. The staff are so lovely to him, several of them going over and above their normal duties to do extra things for him. As he's become frailer they have adapted to his extra needs, e.g pureeing his good as he was prone to choking. Many of the staff including, housekeeping, maintenance and reception pop in to see him and share a laugh and a joke. He loved the staff and I can see they love him. I am very happy about his care and have no worries when I'm not there. It gives me peace of mind. Like I've said lately, even if I won the lottery, I would never dream of moving him. We love Highcliffe.

It is generally a lovely place, well managed, and with a vast majority of dedicated and patient staff who treat residents with respect and dignity. (Including my mum, I'm delighted to say). Let down a bit though by a few snotty members of staff, especially nurses (not all) who give out medicine and don't seem to like residents being taken out by their family! Who, in my opinion, is more suited to work in a hospital than a care home, and so won't have that problem. But this is minor compared with so many lovely staff who make it the friendly, homely, loving place it is.

I am delighted to be part of the reception team at Highcliffe Nursing Home. I have over 35 years' experience in the healthcare profession and 28 years as a General Nurse, School Nurse, NHS, in the private sector and as a Community Staff Nurse. I trained in London and worked there for two decades. I like to use my existing skills in my role. I am a people’s person, and I love meeting & greeting all residents and their families. I love music and singing, and I have sung semi-professionally in bands previously for five years, around the clubs on the South Coast. I like to join in on a sing-along at the home when possible.
