Park Lane Care Home is a wonderfully bright and cheerful home in the historic market town of Congleton, which is within easy driving distance of Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent and on the main railway line.

The purpose built home has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard to provide a comfortable and homely living experience for older people and people living with dementia who require residential care.

Park Lane is a real home from home, offering well-appointed rooms, enviable living space and features beloved of the residents including the new Park Inn bar, park and pamper hairdressing and beauty salon, and attractive outdoor areas and gardens, with an accessible garden currently being created. The bedrooms are spacious and residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms to make them as homely as possible, which helps them to feel settled.

It also has a new feature ‘Park Inn Bar’, with a small beer garden as well as its own pamper hairdressing and beauty salon, both of which residents love.

Mealtimes are an important part of the day and chefs prepare delicious home cooked food to tempt even the most discerning appetite. Residents are encouraged to enjoy their meal in the dining room, taking their time, while socialising and making new friends.

The well-being of residents is important and the home has a varied entertainment programme which takes into account the like and dislikes of residents and their different levels of abilities. Activities include arts and craft sessions, music afternoons, craft, trips out as visiting professional entertainers.

I don't get to see my friend as I'm retired and live in the Midlands. When I visited my friend before Christmas he looked really well and cared for.
The home is lovely and clean and the staff I met were all friendly and welcoming.

Our family is incredibly grateful for the care my gran received at this care home. From the very beginning, it was clear that the staff genuinely cared about her wellbeing and dignity. She was treated with kindness, patience, and respect, which gave us real peace of mind during a difficult time.
The
environment was welcoming and clean, and communication with the family was clear and reassuring. Knowing that my gran was safe, comfortable, and cared for meant more than we can put into words. We will always be thankful for the compassion shown to her and to our family.

My mother has been in your care for a little over 8 years and was really pleased how she was looked after and cared for. I feel she was really happy with her time there. All the staff were amazing. I don't think she would have lived as long as she did without that care she was given. You should be very
proud of the home and staff you have in Congleton.

I can't thank the carers at Park Lane enough for their incredible care, kindness and dedication they show every single day. They treat Nana with so much patience, respect and warmth, always taking the time to make her feel comfortable and valued. It means the world to our family to see how happy and
relaxed she is, and that's entirely down to the staff's gentle and compassionate nature.
Communication is excellent, and we are always kept informed and reassured.
We are incredibly grateful for everything they do and feel very lucky to have found somewhere so dedicated. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for outstanding care for a loved one.

Park Lane is a very warm, friendly place with a family feel to it. All the staff are approachable and work very hard supporting the residents while at the same time maintaining the resident's dignity and individuality. They are very quick to notice when a resident needs extra support, and I have found
that any concern I have about my Mum's health has been acted upon right away. The Activity Co-ordinators are excellent in their provision of daily schedules of the many varied activities. From group activities to one-to-one outings. They strive to include the interests of all the residents. From Rickshaw rides around the park to visits from miniature ponies. My Mum especially loves the arts, crafts, games and chair exercises. The building is bright, cheerful and spotlessly clean. The dining area is welcoming, clean and cosy. There is always a choice on the menu from the friendly chefs. They never fail to provide a home-made cake so the residents can celebrate when it's someone's birthday.

We looked at 4 other care homes before choosing Park Lane and it was the best decision we have ever made in the care of Mum. The staff are loyal, hardworking, caring and very professional. The long service of many of the staff prove the job satisfaction in caring for vulnerable patients. It it kept
immaculate, the food is excellent, activities well planned and stimulating. It is also a place full of happiness and the end of life care is attentive and compassionate. I have been in many care homes through church volunteering but this is the best I have ever been in.

Mum has been with the wonderful team at Park Lane for over two years. We cannot thank them enough for going above and beyond to care for mum as if she was part of their family. As mum's dementia has deteriorated they have adjusted her care so well and whilst she is not able to participate in the excellent
daily activities as much any more the fabulous lady always makes sure mum is included in everything from crafting to painting. The team even do her hair and paint her nails, as she was always proud to be well turned out. I've heard so many terrible stories about care homes from friends but we cannot fault the managers and the wonderful team at Park Lane. There seems to be no staff turnover and everyone is so welcoming and friendly when we visit and proactively keep us informed of mum's care needs. The home itself is bright, modern and fresh and mum's bedroom is like a home from home which is so important. Cannot thank them all enough.

Mum has been a resident for over 6 months now and has settled in extremely well due to the excellent care she receives. Without exception, all staff are friendly, thoughtful, and above all, caring. They treat Mum like their own mother or grandma!
The home is spotlessly clean and always smells nice.
The food is good and varied and there are daily activities and frequent outings.
Mum has difficulty talking but since entering the home, her speech has improved and her overall health, cognition and motivation has too. Her character has returned.
Thank you to all for the wonderful attention you give to Mum. I'm grateful you were able to take her at such short notice and pleased she has settled in so well.

I can't thank Park Lane Residential enough for the outstanding care they provide to my Nanna. The staff are incredibly kind, professional, and truly go above and beyond for their residents.

From the moment my Nanna arrived, she was treated with warmth, respect, and compassion. The team takes time

to build real relationships with each resident, making them feel safe, comfortable, and valued every day.

It gave our family such peace of mind knowing she was in such capable and caring hands. Park Lane Residential is a truly special place, and we're so grateful for everything they've done.

Park Lane was the first choice of three homes assessed independently by me and my daughter for my wife who suffers from dementia. Having moved her into there in February, we are delighed with our choice. Most importantly, my wife has settled quickly and is content with her situation which has assured
us that we made the right choice for her. All staff are very friendly and welcoming and the home has a relaxed and calm atmosphere. The level of care provided is high and carers and management are quick to inform me of aspects of my wife's care and to seek my agreement where changes are proposed. There are additional activities both in groups and at a personal level as necessary to add stimulation for residents. We have also been allowed to personalise my wife's room with reminders of her family life to make it feel more homely. Even our 5 year old Grandson said that it was a nice hotel on a recent visit. Thanks to all for helping us through this difficult decision.

My 93 year old Mother has been a resident at Park Lane care home since November 2022.
Park Lane is such a lovely residential care home, relatively small and has a very homely atmosphere.
ALL of the staff are amazing, they do such a wonderful job of taking care of all the residents.
My Mum is so
well looked after, the home is immaculate, the chef bakes all the residents a beautiful birthday cake on their birthdays, it was Mums 93rd birthday last week and she had a lovely day and was presented with a gorgeous birthday cake, candles to blow out after everybody sang to her!
It gives me peace of mind knowing that my Mum is being so well looked after and that she is happy and very content!
The home does activities with the residents, recreation, baking, entertainment. A marvellous place for a loved one to be in! I can highly recommend Park Lane. The carers treat the residents with dignity and respect, they all do such a wonderful job and I can't thank them enough!

My mother has been a resident of Park Lane Residential Home for over three years. Throughout this time she has been cared for with kindness, thoughtfulness and sensitivity. On my visits to see her I am always impressed by the way the carers deal with residents who are upset or exhibiting challenging
behaviour. In fact I often find myself remarking to friends that I don't know how they stay so calm!
The staff are always welcoming and friendly. If there is a need to inform me about any personal issues they will contact me right away rather than wait for my next visit.
My mother recently reached her 100th birthday. I cannot emphasise enough how helpful the activity organiser and manager were in planning and even organising her birthday celebrations. A day my family will never forget. Even going as far as encouraging others to send cards in order that my mother had over a hundred on the day. The home also provided cakes, sweets and drinks for the children.

My Nana lives at Park Lane. She has been there for a while and I visit her a lot. This week we came in with my little puppy for Dog Day, not only did Nana sit with him but I went round to see all the other residents and they had a cuddle with him. Everyone who works there is ace! They look after my

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.952)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.952) out of 10 for Park Lane Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.952 for Park Lane Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (260 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 273 Ratings = 4.952
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park Lane Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I have always been flexible to fit in with the needs of the home, and when a position came up in the housekeeping team over 2 years ago, I was happy to step into the role to help. As a result of my role in housekeeping, I have recently been appointed Head Housekeeper.

I love working in Park Lane; no two days are the same, and it is always wonderful to chat with residents and learn about the lives they have led.

In my spare time, I enjoy taking my children to their varied activities as well as socialising and relaxing with friends and family.
