Park Lane Care Home is a wonderfully bright and cheerful home in the historic market town of Congleton, which is within easy driving distance of Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent and on the main railway line.

The purpose built home has been tastefully decorated and furnished to a high standard to provide a comfortable and homely living experience for older people and people living with dementia who require residential care.

Park Lane is a real home from home, offering well-appointed rooms, enviable living space and features beloved of the residents including the new Park Inn bar, park and pamper hairdressing and beauty salon, and attractive outdoor areas and gardens, with an accessible garden currently being created. The bedrooms are spacious and residents are encouraged to personalise their rooms to make them as homely as possible, which helps them to feel settled.

It also has a new feature ‘Park Inn Bar’, with a small beer garden as well as its own pamper hairdressing and beauty salon, both of which residents love.

Mealtimes are an important part of the day and chefs prepare delicious home cooked food to tempt even the most discerning appetite. Residents are encouraged to enjoy their meal in the dining room, taking their time, while socialising and making new friends.

The well-being of residents is important and the home has a varied entertainment programme which takes into account the like and dislikes of residents and their different levels of abilities. Activities include arts and craft sessions, music afternoons, craft, trips out as visiting professional entertainers.

I came into Park Lane for three weeks for respite care. I very much enjoyed my stay I would come back when I need a break again. The manager and staff are excellent and looked after me very well. I was very pleased with my room and enjoyed all the activities.

Mum was welcomed to her home (new) with so much regard for her emotional state after being in/out of hospital/residential care. The Manager and staff are excellent and have done and still doing everything they can for mum/family. We look forward each week to our visit, the team are always happy to talk
with us. There's such a family feel within the staff they deserve so much praise for their work ethics.

Mum has been a resident at Park Lane Care home for the last 6 months. She lives with mixed dementia and is gradually deteriorating. The staff at Park Lane are very knowledgeable in caring for people with dementia and are able to pacify mum when she becomes anxious and keep her mentally stimulated to
prevent anxiety.
The staff are very caring and fun, mum enjoys her life.
With Covid restrictions, visiting has been difficult but the staff are happy to relay how mum has been with complete honesty which gives you confidence that she is being cared for well.
I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a dementia-friendly home it has exceeded my expectations.

Park Lane is a very caring and friendly home. The rooms are lovely, food is excellent. A new chef had joined the team and the meals are 5* he made a beautiful cake for my mother-in-law's birthday. My mother-in-law is very settled and my husband and I are very lucky that she is in such a lovely and safe
place and is looked after very well. The staff go above and beyond and their commitment towards the residents is second to none, especially through the covid outbreak to keep them safe was just fantastic. You can ask any question and nothing is ever too much trouble. Before the outbreak, I was asked to stay for lunch with my mother-in-law which was lovely. Park Lane is one big happy family.

My experience visiting my husband in Park Lane Residential HOme has only been positive. Lovely staff who always pop in to see me and any worries I have are taken care of quickly. I can ring any time of the day and always have time for me.
They have my full trust, my husband is safe and well cared for.
A well-run home. We are grateful to be under their care.

Park Lane Congleton is a lovely place to live. The bedrooms and public spaces are all beautiful and the staff are truly exceptional. I live in London and have been shielding for the past year, so it has been such a comfort to me to know that my Mum has been so well cared for. I can never thank the staff
enough for their kindness and friendship to Mum and to me.

After visiting my friend at Park Lane Residential Home, I find that the Manager and Deputy Manager go above and beyond to help in any way that they can. The staff all work extremely hard and are always happy which has a positive effect on the residents. They are like one big family, nothing is ever
too much trouble. The home is always spotlessly clean. There is a wide range of freshly cooked homemade meals served every day. Since the start of the pandemic, visiting became very hard but I always knew that my friend was in a safe place, and was cared for every day. Skype calls were arranged so I could still see and talk to my friend whenever I wanted, and the Manager was always available if I had any questions. Overall, I have seen a massive improvement in my friend's health since being at Park Lane Residential Home and I wouldn't want them to be anywhere else. The Home Manager and her team should be very proud of themselves for all the hard work and dedication, especially during these uncertain times.

Mum started a new chapter of her life at Park Lane in October 2019 and whilst she resisted for quite some time to have help or consider a move, she settled in straight away. From our first steps through the door, on what was a particularly stressful day, we were immediately put at ease by the staff.
Everything is bright and welcoming and we were immediately made to feel part of one big very happy family. We can't fault a thing and we can rest easy at night knowing Mum is not only well cared for but she is happy. Whilst it has been difficult to visit during the present situation we have regular updates with the Manager and staff and from the photos, they have sent we can see a change in Mum. A sparkle that had once gone from her eyes has now returned. Mum's room is lovely and the whole place is spotlessly clean. There is always something going on so never a minute to feel lonely. All in all, a wonderful place and it's all down to the wonderful Manager and her staff.

It is so very reassuring to know that my mother is in such safe hands. She is quite at home and is safe and happy. The home is always spotlessly clean and mum is always well dressed with her hair neat and tidy. The staff are friendly and helpful and made it possible to visit mum once lockdown had eased
with a special room with a perspex screen.

Having to make the decision that putting/placing a family member in a care home has to be the most heartbreaking thing to all the family. It tears your heart in two, and although you will never get over this, finding the right place, which means caring staff who respect your loved one and treat them
like royalty and with dignity. This makes the pain, less and with each visit, seeing your loved one settled and content, looking well with nice hair and clean clothes, and that whenever you visit, which is always unannounced, (that was until the last 16-weeks). The staff, every single one, I don't have a bad word for they are truly dedicated and have a vocation. The food is excellent, and I have sampled it! The cleanliness of the home is 100% perfect; friendly decor and homely. It's the manager that has made it for us as a family, it has eased the heartbreak. With thanks.

The staff at Park Lane are wonderful; they make both residents and families feel so welcome. It doesn't smell like a stereotypical care home, so clean and modern that it takes away some of the guilt of leaving a loved one in a care home. I'm so thankful for the staff at Park Lane who provides excellent
care for all residents.

My mum went into Park Lane in October last year. As any child of an Alzheimer sufferer, obviously choosing the right home is an essential and extremely emotional experience. Since my mum has been there she has thrived and smiles and laughs again as she used to. The staff and attention given to the residents
are second to none and I could not ask for any more. The manager is excellent and if ever I have any questions or queries she comes back to me straight away and always reassures me if I am worrying unnecessarily. The events manager is also fantastic with the residents and is always finding them fun things to do. Since my mum has gone in there, I can actually sleep at night knowing she is safe and well cared for. In addition to this, the food always looks great and the home is always spotlessly clean. I would not give a second thought to recommending Park Lane to anybody and I am so grateful for everything they do for my mum. Thank you.

This was my first visit since lockdown, and I was very impressed by the safety measures in place, plus as usual a friendly welcome. It is wonderful how the bar has been adapted with the perspex screen, masks provided and temperature taken on arrival. The lady I was visiting seemed very happy and well
looked after. Well done all!

Having visited the home several times I have always been greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. All the staff are very helpful, always going above and beyond and offer beverages regularly. The manager and deputy always ensure they have spoken to me during my visit which I find very reassuring as
I know if I did have any concerns I could address them directly and they have always been very supportive. The home has a high level of cleanliness and is a lovely environment, with all staff creating a homely feel.

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.952)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.952) out of 10 for Park Lane Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.952 for Park Lane Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (260 Excellents x 5) + (13 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 273 Ratings = 4.952
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Park Lane Care Home is based on 23 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 42 registered maximum number of service users is 8.4, which has been reached with 23 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Head Housekeeper

I have worked in Park Lane for 22 years, having left school at 16 years ago. I initially worked in the kitchen as a Kitchen Assistant. I later moved on to care, undertaking the necessary training to support residents with their personal care.

I have always been flexible to fit in with the needs of the home, and when a position came up in the housekeeping team over 2 years ago, I was happy to step into the role to help. As a result of my role in housekeeping, I have recently been appointed Head Housekeeper.

I love working in Park Lane; no two days are the same, and it is always wonderful to chat with residents and learn about the lives they have led.

In my spare time, I enjoy taking my children to their varied activities as well as socialising and relaxing with friends and family.
