This my third experience at Woodlands Lodge. The first was to visit my wife here, where she resided for over twelve months. My second visit was for myself when i stayed for respite for over three months following an injury, staff and systems - including the food - were excellent. I was able to return
home alone with a nearly new arm movement.
I am current on a third stay is for respite care following an op at Hospital. Again, all staff and systems are top-notch. It says a great deal about a place of employment that many staff have been here since my wife's stay began in 2022. A great home and I would highly recommend Woodlands Lodge.

Mum has been a resident at Woodlands now for over 12 months. It is the most welcoming and friendly care home to both residents and their families making it feel like home for us all. Having the additional garden room facilities has been an absolute bonus to us as we are able to move straight outside
to use her garden furniture, weather allowing.
Standards are extremely high in all areas from care and cleanliness to the extensive and beautifully prepared meal options.
Events team are brilliant and entertain residents & family with their daily activities plan.
The hair salon is a huge bonus with weekly hairdressing appt a definite highlight of the week.
Staff retention is extremely high underlining how happy and safe Woodlands is for all who spend time here.
Thrilled it just happens to be close to home allowing daily visits when possible yet be confident of the excellent care mum will receive when we cannot get there.
Woodlands: the perfect place with excellent facilities & staff!

My wife went into Woodlands Lodge in 2021 towards the end of Covid Outbreak. I was scared my wife (because of her condition) was not aware of the situation. She was content with everything that was provided. The staff put us both at ease and have always been so caring and kind to us both. My wife is
never agitated, and is always smiling and chuckling. I am more at ease because I know she is being looked after so well.
Reply from Caroline Purcell, Home Manager at Woodlands LodgeThank you so much for your kind words. We are truly honoured to be caring for your wife and are delighted to hear that both she and you feel supported. We pride ourselves on our providing a warm, family environment for our residents and their families. I will share your kind comments with all the team.

Mum was admitted to Woodlands after a fall when she was exhausted, distressed and in severe pain. From day 1, the manager and staff welcomed her warmly and reassured her. Her pain was quickly managed and in a short time, thanks to the care and attention of staff, she began to thrive. 'Respite' has now
become 'permanent'. Mum is very happy. An excellent care home - and welcoming to visitors!

My husband has been a resident at Woodlands Lodge for almost 4 years. From day one, we have experienced excellent service on every level. I visit my husband every day at various times during the day, including late into the evening, so I see all the staff during that time. The quality of care and support
is consistently excellent at all times. I am delighted with the staff and facilities. I couldn't wish for my husband to be in a better place.

My cousin entered Woodlands Residential Home after a long period in hospital. She took a long time to adjust from leaving her home. She refused to eat in the dining room and preferred to stay in her room. I must praise the staff for their patience and consideration of her needs. Now my cousin is joining
in some activities and eating in the dining room. The staff appreciate her need to have quiet time on her own. The house is always immaculately clean and my cousin is always looked after well. I am very satisfied with the care she receives.

My father came in for dementia care for two weeks while I was away. The staff kept me up to date, via messages, at all times. They were cheerful and helpful - consummate professionals in fact. My father settled quickly and became a favourite in his short time here. On his last day, developing an illness
requiring a visit to A&E, the staff were quick to respond and supportive at all stages. Would highly recommend.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.913)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.913) out of 10 for Woodlands Lodge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 25 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.913 for Woodlands Lodge is calculated as follows: ( (275 Excellents x 5) + (20 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 298 Ratings = 4.913
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodlands Lodge is based on 25 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 25 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
