Woodlands Lodge is Formby’s hidden gem! Located close to the heart of Formby, it is the ideal home setting with a welcoming team of care professionals. The Lodge provides a range of residential care and residential dementia care services to residents over the age of 65.

Arranged over two floors, Woodlands Lodge provides a community setting where members can benefit from high-quality care, tailored to their individual needs. It has been specially designed to improve residents’ quality of life, through mobility and experience.

Fully equipped with high-quality furnishings and fittings throughout; each bedroom comes with an adjustable profile bed, call bell system, flat-screen TV, telephone, wireless internet access and ensuite wet room. There is a range of facilities from comfortable lounges, dining rooms, health & beauty salon, resident’s kitchen and outdoor spaces that are perfect for visits with friends & family.

Woodlands Lodge understands the importance of a well-balanced and nutritious diet and therefore, a carefully selected team produces home-cooked meals onsite daily. The resident's preferences and cultural or dietary requirements are incorporating into the menu and guests are able to join residents at mealtimes if there have been prior arrangements.

The Lodge has their very own in-house lifestyle and wellbeing team who organise a full schedule of daily activities and outings. They are dedicated to making their residents’ home a happy, vibrant and fun place to live! With lots of daily in-house activities taking place in the communal lounges, there is always something fun going on around every corner.

We were so pleased that Woodlands Lodge was able to offer our mother a room on the ground floor facing the garden.
She has settled in very well. The staff are very friendly and caring. We as a family are happy with the care she is receiving.

We were delighted to be offered a ground floor garden facing room so soon after looking around Woodlands Lodge. Mum has settled in very well and all the staff without exception are kind and caring. As mum is nearly 102 we do not expect her to partake in many activities.

We cannot fault Woodlands Lodge in any way.
The improvement in my aunt's condition and morale after 8 weeks respite care has been incredible.
No surprise then that she has decided to make Woodlands Lodge her permanent home.

I first attended an "open" coffee morning to look for long term care for my mother-in-law. She is difficult to please and was delighted at her reaction on the day.
She loved it, at that time she was still living at home.
When her (private) carers arrived later that day, she told her how lovely Woodlands
is. She is now a full-time resident, the family are so relieved she is now receiving 24/7 care. The staff are absolutely dedicated and we couldn't wish for better care.

The staff at Woodlands Lodge provide a high standard of compassionate care to my mum who has settled well into the care home environment whilst living with dementia.
They have strong relationships with all the local health professionals and are very responsive and caring in the few emergency situations
we have had with mum falling.
The facilities are first class, modern and spotlessly clean. The standard of food and catering is very good.

My mother-in-law was admitted to hospital following a fall at home. We made the decision to move her to Woodlands Lodge because we felt she would have a better chance of rehabilitation there. From the outset, the staff were positive and encouraging and I do believe they would have succeeded in getting
her back on her feet. Unfortunately, her health deteriorated and she died within two weeks. The staff, clinical and non-clinical were wonderful to her and to us. They liaised appropriately with the Gp and the district nurses to ensure that she was settled and pain-free.
They treated her with respect, dignity and gentleness during her last days and supported us as a family.

Having worked in the care sector now for more than 15 years in various roles, the most fulfilling role has to be working with prospective residents, their family or their representatives. I find it most rewarding in helping to find the most suitable care home that will endeavour to meet the care needs of each new resident, along with show casing and promoting the many superb facilities each individual care home has to offer.


My main duty is just by being there every step of the way, helping to support families to take away some of the stress of trying to find the right care home for their loved one.


In my spare time I love nothing more than walking my cockapoo, travelling to different counties within the UK and visiting different countries to sample the different restaurants, sightseeing and experiencing different cultures, but most importantly spending quality time with family and friends.
