Job summary
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to
join our team in a vibrant care home environment. The ideal candidate
will play a crucial role in supporting the management of our assisted
living facility, ensuring high standards of care for our residents.
This position requires strong leadership skills, a background in
senior care, and the ability to manage care plans effectively. The
Deputy Manager will work closely with care staff and other team
members to provide exceptional support to individuals with varying
needs, including those requiring dementia care.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations within the care home, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised care plans tailored to residents' needs.
- Oversee medication administration processes, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.
- Provide leadership and support to care staff, fostering a positive working environment.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident care and wellbeing, making adjustments as necessary.
- Collaborate with families and external agencies to ensure comprehensive care for residents.
- Manage staffing schedules and assist with recruitment and training of new team members.
- Promote a culture of dignity, respect, and compassion within the care home.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within an assisted living or senior care setting.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration practices and relevant legislation.
- Background in care and equivalent healthcare qualification is highly desirable (Level 4 or 5 considered).
- Experience in developing and managing care plans for individuals with diverse needs.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Understanding of dementia care principles and best practices.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with an empathetic approach to resident interactions.
- Ability to work flexibly, including potential on-call duties as required.
This role will be for 40 hours per week. 24 hours will be based on the floor leading the team, 16 hours will be office based.
