We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the kitchen staff with food preparation, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards of quality and safety. Duties

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meal preparation, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
• Support chefs and cooks by providing help with cooking tasks as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
• Handle kitchen equipment safely and responsibly.
• Assist with catering events by preparing food items as required.
• Ensure all food items are stored properly to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
• Participate in cleaning duties at the end of shifts, including washing dishes and sanitising surfaces.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential; a willingness to learn is key.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations is advantageous.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a busy environment.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Flexibility to assist with various tasks as needed within the kitchen.
• A passion for culinary arts and meal preparation is highly desirable.
