I can't thank the staff enough, they care really well for mum. They are there when you need questions answering and are helpful and friendly. Her room is nice and clean and the food looks nice and is nice. I sampled Christmas dinner.

Respectful, kind staff very supportive. I have capacity and I have good days and bad days, the staff are always respectful of my wishes, whilst encouraging me to eat, take medication but understand if I don't. Beautiful room, kept immaculately clean by housekeeping staff who always have a chat and smile
for me if I'm awake.

Mum went to Osborne House for respite after being in hospital in November '25. Unfortunately mum's condition deteriorated and she was moved onto the nursing floor. The staff welcomed us with open arms on arrival: they took time to listen and understand mum's preferences and history. They treated her
as an individual throughout. The level of care and professionalism is outstanding. Every member of the team at Osborne, including the housekeeping team, deliver a friendly service, offer companionship whilst doing their jobs and go above and beyond. They are very good on health & safety for mum and support for her and myself. They are patient, kind and very passionate about their roles. We don't feel anxious about mum's wellbeing now as we know she is being card for properly. We know that, in mum's twilight days, she is receiving the best possible care in a lovely home-like atmosphere. We cannot praise the staff and Allison the Manager enough and feel fortunate to have mum in Osborne House.

Although my Dads time at Osborne house was only for a few weeks before he passed. What an amazing group of people who work at Osborne House , the care they showed my Dad during this time was so loving & respectfully, he managed to celebrate his 94th birthday & take part in the bingo these are
memories we will cherish for ever.

My mum is very happy with the care given by all members of staff, upon chatting to mum she feels teh activities are lacking and would like a greater choice for example mum lies table tennis, baking and ceramics. As a caring daughter I feel the lack of stimulation is having a negative effect on my mum's
mental health, a more active and engaging day would give her a sense of belonging and purpose.

This is a very special place! It's a lovely building with very nice decor, and you are welcomed as soon as you set foot through the door. The food is very tasty, and drinks readily available. However, what really makes this place special are the staff. They are kind, caring, approachable, supportive
and patient. They are professional too, with everything done the right way. My stepfather wanted to come here when he needed more support after the way my mum was cared for here. The staff are like family to him. There is no better tribute.

My mum came into your care on 1st April 2025 but sadly passed with you on 27th September 2025 while she was in your care. The staff were amazing with her the care she received was 2nd to none. My mum could be difficult at times but all the staff showed patients and care. On the last few days before
her passing the care and dignity shown to her was the best I have seen in my 43 years of being in care and all the staff were lovely to myself and family. Highly recommend.

We found everything about Osborne House to be accommodating, friendly and professional in all aspects of what they do. From management to carers and support staff we were very, very happy and could easily see that they actually "cared" and did not just care for the residents. I would certainly
recommend this home, we were very thankful to have found it ourselves as it is not an easy exercise or decision to undertake and not one that you do lightly.
A heartfelt thanks to Team Osborne House we really appreciated your help and support!

All the staff go above and beyond including coming in on their days off to visit or sit with residents. There is a real sense of extended family. It's a real pleasure to visit relatives who are resident - both mum (first) and now dad living there. We know that my parents are safe and being well looked
after. Rooms are well appointed and modern. The Wi-Fi could be much improved and is probably the only significant improvement that could made; it makes it difficult to stay connected when we live so far away.
Both my parents enjoy the catering with varied menus and treats which makes life and them feel special. There is even a pub just for residents on site too and activities linked to that.

Current Review Score: 9.8 (9.849)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.8 (9.849) out of 10 for Osborne House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 33 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.849 for Osborne House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (341 Excellents x 5) + (43 Goods x 4) + (8 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 392 Ratings = 4.849
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Osborne House Care Home is based on 33 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 registered maximum number of service users is 14.8, which has been reached with 33 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Housekeeper Joined: 2013

I joined Osborne House in 2013 when the care home was about to open.

I had previously worked in another care setting as a housekeeper for 4 years before this.

I am welcoming, bubbly, and enthusiastic about my role and Osborne House.

From day one of working at Osborne House, I have loved and still love my job, it is very rewarding.

Interacting with staff, residents and visitors on a daily basis is something I love! Each day is different.

I enjoy helping in other aspects of the home as well as Housekeeping. I am proud to run an excellent team, and be part of an excellent team at Osborne House.
