Staff are always kind and courteous towards residents no matter what the circumstances.
Residents' needs are put a the front of all that staff do.
The home provides a clean and caring environment with good standards throughout.

I can highly recommend.

My cousin has been a resident here for a few months. Besides the fact that he wanted to go back to his home initially, he has been cared for very well here. His needs are being met and medically he has improved. He has seemed happy and if we have asked the house for anything, like his nails being cut, then this has been done as soon as possible.

At the moment he has been admitted to hospital due to an infection and one of the staff has shown an interest in his well being, contacting the hospital and then me to keep me and the house updated as to his progress. Hopefully my cousin will be able to go back to Osborne House as soon as possible.

Osborne House Care Home is a beautiful care home and is very clean and does not smell. You are always met with a warm welcome. The staff on the unit where my relative resides are very professional and treat everyone as individuals and are very respectful. I feel my relative is very well cared for and is treated with dignity. I feel very happy that my relative is safe and any issues are dealt with as they occur and incidents quashed almost before they have had a chance to erupt.

The only problem is when they have to cover the usual lovely carers with agency workers. Some agency workers are ok but there are others who are lazy, spend most of their time on their mobile phones, have to be told what to do when the need for them to do something is very obvious. They have no initiative. That is when I feel the care could break down.

Very pleased that Mum has moved to this home as she has settled in well. Staff are very friendly and caring.
My mum quite likes the food which is a minor miracle in itself.
The home is clean and the staff appear to be very good at caring for patients individual needs.

I would have no hesitation in recommending them to anyone who, for whatever reason, is looking for a care home placement.

Overall I believe the service to be very good. However, the food sadly is not to the standard I would expect. However, the staff 9 times out of 10 are wonderful and caring. The lack of staff often affects Mum's ability to be able to sit out and the bathroom seems not suitable for wheelchair use. Also, the bed could be improved.

My mother was discharged from hospital to Osborne House with significant nursing and care needs. At every stage of the following 8 months, she was treated with dignity and personalised care that was of the highest calibre. Led by an exceptional care home manager, all the staff made every effort to provide positive encouragement, kindness and consideration - as well as meeting the exacting standards of care that were needed every day. We could not have asked for better.

My Mum went to Osborne House from hospital and was very impressed with the surroundings. She asked if it would be possible to stay there. The room was well furnished and equipped and the food met Mum's high expectations. Every member of staff was very caring and knowledgeable, as well as being most helpful and positive. All round this has been a good experience for my Mum and her family. Thank you so much.

Review from Lynne F (Daughter of Resident) published on 25 June 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mum has been a resident since July 2014; she absolutely loves the staff and thinks of them as part of her family. The fact that activities are ongoing if residents want to participate, or they can choose to do their own thing, they have the choice. The rooms are really nicely decorated, and residents can have their own personal furniture, etc if they want. The staff evidently care for the residents and think of them as their own, going over and above, especially during the difficult times of the pandemic. 10/10 from me.

Review from Susi C (Daughter of Resident) published on 8 June 2021 Submitted via Website
Overall Experience

My mum moved to Osborne House as her care needs meant that she could no longer be looked after in her own home. She had both vascular dementia and a lack of mobility due to a nasty fall. From day one, she received kind and thoughtful care delivered by a team who looked after her with attention to detail and good humour. I was kept fully informed of any changes in her medical condition by excellent nursing staff. In her last days, we were both treated with great kindness and concern, and I am relieved that her last moments were with people who had been able to get to know her and were constant employees as opposed to agency staff.

My mother had her 100th birthday on Saturday 24th April 2021. I would like to commend the staff, they gave her a wonderful birthday and considering the restrictions in place could not have been better for her. She had a wonderful day, the staff went above and beyond their remit, coming in on days off, decorating the lounge and garden beautifully. Zoom meetings were arranged for relatives in Canada, America and London, a delightful afternoon tea was given with the other residents,

table decorations, flags with mum's face and age on and numerous thoughtful touches. The staff made what might have been a disappointing day because of covid restrictions into a memorable, joyous and wondeful experience for my mother. I can't thank them enough.

My Grandma is a resident at Osborne House. I cannot praise the team that look after my grandma enough. They individually go above and beyond to ensure she is cared for and supported. The home recently organised a celebration for her 100th birthday. The decorations were amazing and it had such a personal touch. So much effort went into making sure her day was special; from a party, promotion of cards and international family zoom call. They made sure her milestone birthday would be one to remember! It certainly will be. They have continued to keep residents safe throughout the pandemic and have tirelessly kept the residents' wellbeing at the forefront of everything. I would like to especially mention one staff member whose commitment and motivation to her job is amazing. Nothing is ever too much for her and she gives her all to ensuring the home is promoted positively and she keeps the residents engaged. She is a trooper and such an asset to Crown Care. Thank you for all you do for my Grandma.

My grandmother recently turned 100. A significant milestone that we were all looking forward to celebrating with her. However given the current Covid restrictions, we were unable to all be together, but the staff at Osborne House went above and beyond to ensure she had an extra special day. The effort and care from the staff were remarkable and really touching. It is clear that my grandmother is not only well cared for at Osborne House, but genuinely loved by the staff and this makes all the difference. She had a great day and the family not only got to be a part of the celebration via a zoom call organised by the staff but also received photos and videos of the day and felt like we were part of the day even though we couldn’t all be there in person. I am very grateful to Osborne House and the level of care and attention provided by the staff.

Osborne House provided outstanding care for my mum. The whole building is kept spotless and the meals provided were delicious and nutritious. The staff were always kind, compassionate and extremely caring. They were always positive and good-humoured. As a family we were very grateful and that we were allowed to visit mum when she was receiving end of life care. It was most comforting for us that we were able to be with mum in her final hours.

I have volunteered here for a while now and help with events that have been on, since the pandemic I haven't been able to visit but have kept in touch with staff and residents, the home is a lovely place to be and I'm sure they are making the lockdown the best they can, keeping everyone safe. I look forward to the day I can go back into Osborne House and see everyone again.

We are so thankful for the care our gran receives living at Osborne House. With all the restrictions that have come with COVID, gran has really missed her weekly visits with friends and family. But the staff at Osborne House have gone above and beyond to offer gran and other residents special theme days and have made holidays like Christmas a really special one. During COVID, we have had an opportunity to video call with gran every Friday. We are so thankful for this! Seeing her connect, laugh and be silly with two of her great-grandchildren every Friday means so much. We live in Canada, and having the ability to see her weekly on a video call makes the world seem a little smaller, and we are so thankful that our gran and great-grandma can have a visit with us each week. Thank you Osborne House for all you do each and every day!

The staff at Osborne House are wonderful and nothing is too much trouble. My Mum is looked after so well and it is a testament to the staff that they have managed to keep the Home Covid free during the pandemic.
